I recently visited this Ono Hawaiian BBQ location and ordered the BBQ beef and chicken katsu with rice and macaroni salad. The BBQ beef was dry and flavorless. The chicken katsu was crispy on the outside but was dry and over cooked. The rice was fine, but the macaroni salad was very dry and lacked the creamy flavor I was expecting. The biggest disappointment was that my order didn't include any of the sauces, which really affected the overall meal since they're an important part of the experience. With fresher macaroni salad and making sure the sauces are included, this could have been a much better visit. I hope they pay closer attention to these details in the future. read more

This place is just very unsanitary. I forgot why I stopped coming here for awhile. The last time I got flies that flew out of my Togo food. I was so disgusted. Called the company and I was referred to their corporate for a refund since I ordered through DoorDash. Left multiple messages and nothing happened so I gave up. Ordered again yesterday and a fly flew out of the bag, but well not only that I opened my food container and there it was a dead fly chillin with my food. Called about an hour later to change the pick-up time but was told they had no record of my order. After some frustrating back-n-forth the "manager" told me my order would be ready for pick up. When I got to the store, my order was not ready there were still questions about what I ordered even though I had my receipt with me. We eat here about once every couple of weeks. The last three times I had ordered the same thing - and every time they don't get it right. (I am concluding that it's intentional so I would be interested to see if the manager responds.) Here's the bottom line. I like the chicken; I like the Mac; the rice is rice; but I don't care for the veggies, so I tell them to hold the veggies and give me an extra order of Mac instead. What do I get? Extra rice. I guess the rice is cheaper and so they double up on the rice instead of giving me the extra Mac I ordered. While the cooks did a great job on the food, the rest of the staff provided poor customer service. When you order here, make sure you've actually been served the correct portions. I ordered two sides of rice and two of macaroni, but I only received one of each. When I brought it to their attention, they looked at me as if I were trying to pull a fast one. I personally really like this chain restaurant for nostalgia reasons but the one is Beaumont is almost always good. The only thing is that I would advise anyone ordering from this location to not order around 7pm-ish because they are extremely busy. For the first time I got badly cooked rice and the musubi had no sauce on it. But normally this place is good. read more

Your manager is absolutely the best. But it is surprising that you will send a team member on a break with the store is packed. Again, I want to compliment your staff Friday night, but wonder why you would send somebody to a break regardless of the laws while your manager is trying to handle everything. First time at an Ono Hawaiian BBQ. Never had it before. I had the Chicken Katsu combo and my husband had the Island Fire Chicken combo. Everything was great! I wish they chopped the cabbage at the bottom a bit more. I liked the rice, chicken and cabbage in one bite. The macaroni salad was so good! (We werent in a hurry and ordered right before we walked in) My son spilled sauce all over the floor and he came right away to clean it up. I declined so my son can clean up his mess but also observed him cleaning the table next to ours as well without the patrons asking. He was very helpful to everyone and offers quick service. When I picked up our orders from the counter, they allow us to get as many small Teriyaki sauces in containers along with some delicious Katsu sweet and sour sauce. That Katsu sauce was yummy ! This has got to be the best "chain restaurant" around these days. Its casual fast food but super healthy and. Its real chicken and cabbage veggies on the Lunch Plate. I always add free teriyaki sauce. Also its enough to feed 2 people, at around $13. a different day, I tried the spicy fish meal and same thing, it was a bargain with 4 large pieces of fish. When I tried the bbq ribs i wasnt fond of the cut, it is the split bone type where there is a lot of bone and not much meat, and eating with fingers is too messy. I waited months for this place to open now it feels like I'm waiting months to get my food. Yes we move slower here in Beaumont. But this is borderline DMV. Still here 1O minutes. I visited the Beaumont, Ca. Location near my house. I came in early when there was not many customers. I ordered the Island Fish, which takes a little longer to prepare sometimes. My concern was that there were two young ladies working and the cook seemed to be paying attention to orders. Alice and her co-worker were so involved in their conversation that they were not paying attention to my order and another customer that arrived after me with a larger order, not only got their order before mine, but I had to wait again after waiting 15 minutes before she realized that the cook hadn't received my order. I placed the order in the establishment. How did my order get overlooked I wonder. They got all of the previous orders out, including the other gentleman arriving after me. It felt like it wasn't as important as the other customers. This is unacceptable and I hope this is addressed with the two young ladies that were speaking Spanish and English amongst each other. I speak some Spanish, but not everyone speaks the language and they didn't know I spoke the language. This definitely needs to be addressed. I tried to contact corporate and to no avail. I have to say, I am blown away at the kindness of your employee Shawntae (sorry if I misspelled) I have been to this location a handful of times and never been greeted or treated with such grace. Even my 11 year old noticed it and said, wow she makes spending money worth it! The food here is always great but she was the cherry on top to our visit!
