The food at this location has always been consistent. I usually get the fried fish or the fried fish with BBQ chicken combo. I always ask for my chicken extra well done, and it comes out nice and charred. Ono has my favorite mac salad, and I like that you can see the bits of tuna in it. I wish Ono had loco moco on their menu. read more

I went here on a non busy day. They took my order and didn't really have to wait for long. The food here is pretty good. My daughter loves their spam masubi and that is why i keep coming back here. Me and my daughter didn't wait that long and they were really consistent with their food. They gave me a lot of rice and macaroni as well, this meal is good for at least 2 people. Decent place located in the Palma Plaza!! They give you a lot of food, so come here hungry!! They also add cabbage and broccoli to go with your rice, macaroni salad and choice of meat or seafood!! My usual. If I could give this place 3.5 stars that's what this would be. I typically order this low carb option sans the macaroni salad and rice. I have never been disappointed with this choice. My only complaint is that there really should be more broccoli in the veggie side. When I asked for additional broccoli I was told I could only have 2 pieces. What?!?! Broccoli can't be that expensive. But whatever, this doesn't stop me from ordering and enjoying this meal. I must say this dish is "Ono". I don't mind the bit char on their chicken bc I know that means it was marinated/seasoned well and grilled on a hot grill. It pairs so nicely with white rice even without any sauce. Their chicken plate comes with mixed salad that lacks dressing. Their mahi mahi lunch plate was also great! They give two generous portion of fish filet, with Mac salad and greens. There was a suspicious hair in the veggies in my chicken katsu combo. It's not my hair as I am bald. Please see the attached photograph for documentation. I called them to let them know they need to change their gloves and wear hairnets, but they just gave me a runaround. They phoned me back from the store; although I didn't leave my number nor did I ask for a call back from anyone. But, the person announcing the manager's presence as a third party on the call stated that they'd be translating because the manager doesn't speak English. Located in the Palma Plaza; shared parking lot with Walgreens, Starbucks & Popeyes. San Leandro High is nearby so expect to see high schoolers lurking around. I've been to the Alameda location as well and thought the food was okay but... was in the area. Anyway, on this visit I got 2 spam musubis (spam, chicken or beef), small order of crab rangoons (3pcs) and a Hawaiian Sun canned drink. Total was $11ish. I noticed later that I was charged $0.10 for a bag when the cashier never asked me if it was for to-go or dine-in. I ate my lunch there but yeah anyway the crab rangoons were delicious! $1 each though. The chicken musubi tasted okay. Service & atmosphere weren't that great. They're quick, order ready in 8 minutes. - Why I like Ono's - The teriyaki sauce and katsu sauce are dispensed on the side by the soda and come out hot and tasty which is great. (The teriyaki sauce used to be better more sweet, but it's better than nothing because the BBQ beef is dry and plain.) You can substitute the steamed veggies for 1 scoop of steamed rice or macaroni salad at no extra charge which is awesome The macaroni salad here is good/better than other chains Fair prices - Notes - - only had 2 sodas when I visited Feb 2022, in the fountain coke or sprite & 2 gold peak tea flavors - crab Rangoon here was made in the correct shape and actually had the faux crab compared to other spots that lie and do a puff + cream cheese only. It was however not that good here wouldn't get it again. - make it a combo for 4.29 more is value a large soda plus the side u want (my crab Rangoon) made adding the soda a 40cent addition to just Rangoon alone. - BBQ chicken was thin and dry - chicken katsu was solid especially with katsu sauce - BBQ beef lackluster, always get extra teriyaki sauce - Dipping the steamed veggies in the teriyaki makes it all the better - the location can suck being close by the high school iykyk so plan your trip time accordingly. The portions have definitely changed. Ordered the 2 item plate and added extra slaw. Dressing was minimal. The portions of meats was minimal. They add the meat on top of the rice to disguise the fact that the portions are smaller. I appreciated the clean eating area and the options of Hawaiian Sun drinks. My grandma loves the seafood platter with tartar sauce here. It comes with chicken, fish and shrimp for the meats, Mac salad and rice in a whole platter. The portion is just as huge as it sounds and it's such a good value (at $14) which is more than enough for the two of us for lunch plus a little extra for dinner. read more

Food is decent for what it is , but please be cautious, the workers here will take money/ debit transactions & go handle food & touch your forks with the same gloves that they used to handle dirty money , instead of washing there hands, I acknowledged one of the young ladies on the register & told her that she remove her gloves & use the proper hand hygiene before handling my food, instead she kept her gloves on & used her current dirty gloves to grab the new gloves & put them onto her hands. Average food and average service place was managed by teenagers it's OK for a quick bite but repeat performance is not in the books.

I hardly ever have any issues with my orders. Lately they are much faster so that is awesome since I only have a 30 minute lunch break.

Noooooo stars for this place I use to love this place but I will never eat here again and why you might ask ? They do not handle their food correctly when it comes to safety heat temperature all can say is I'm on 4 different medications because I got a stomach bacteria from eating here because the food was handled wrong ... Wash your hands better if you work here Or maybe make sure the chicken is cooked correctly to the right temp and dont handle raw and cooked chicken together just sad that my body has to go thru so much because they didn't do their job right.......
