Greeted right away felt a bit rushed! Gave order and the chicken musbi nasty. They called me b4 I could sit down! It was old and gross! Seaweed super old. Unacceptable! Their food use to be so delicious! Glad I didn't buy the plate I almost did! Ugh! May 16, 2025

Food was ok the lady was so rude ... she was mad that I asked for more forks and napkins . I will never come back agin .

Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Bowl. They gave me way too much skin (removed it in the lid).

I was disappointed. The chicken did not taste fresh and I got lots of skin. I have never had any other location give me so much skin. The vegetables were not even fully cooked. I will not be back.

Great spot to pick up some casual Hawaiian food with big portions! I was shopping nearby at Walmart and decided to grab takeout from Ohana for dinner. I came by Sunday around 7 pm and it wasn't busy. It's a casual spot with plenty of tables for dine in. The menu has all of the typical Hawaiian dishes like various musubi, loco moco, bbq short ribs, etc. I got the Ohana bbq mix plate for $13.45 and subbed out mac salad for steamed veggies. My bqq mix plate came with 3 meats: bbq chicken, bbq beef, and bbq short ribs. All of the meats were delicious and I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Plus portions were huge and there was enough meat to last me for two meals. I come to this area to shop pretty often with the Walmart and Costco nearby, so I'm sure I'll be coming back to Ohana again.

We were next door at Dollar Tree. The line was so long that my wife decided to walk over to Ohana and grab us a snack. She bought us some Spam Musubi. The Spam Musubi tasted fine. Not the best or the worst we've eaten. Just A-Okay. Cannot comment on the other Hawaiian food they make, but when we do try their other offerings I will update my review.

Called in an order, which took some time. When I got there 10 minutes later, the food was ready. Definitely below-average Hawaiian food. The beef was dry, chewy, and flavorless. Mac salad was limp and lacked flavor. How do you screw up Mac salad? It's a Hawaiian staple. Service was rude. I couldn't really hear her because of her mask and the glass separator. Guess I took too long with the credit card machine because she asked "You speak English or Chinese?". Dumb a$$ - I just asked for my order in English. Very rude. There's many other Hawaiian food places where you can get better food without being insulted.

My favorite Ohana is in El Sobrante, CA. Quality/Quantity - Needed a snack while doing my chores and decided on chicken musubis, but it ended up as a meal because they are sold in pairs. Overall good proportions. Less rice than in the past, but also less chicken. Less chicken both in width and thickness. Either way, it was more than enough food for me. Chicken was moist and juicy. I also like the fact that they leave the skin on for that extra flavor. Lastly, they are made to order, to ensure freshness but be prepared to wait a little. Atmosphere - In the past (5+ years ago) this location did whatever they wanted with the menu, not sure how they got away with it as this is a franchise? Good to see some "corporate" consistency now. But as you can see from the pictures and the excessive menus everywhere, they are still somewhat going by their own book. Service - Good. I like the fact that they gave me a bag, fork, knife and napkins without asking. Price - $6. Owner Comment - Hmmm, maybe you are not a franchise? Maybe a license model? This would explain why they are so different from the other Ohanas.

Lunch after 18 hole golf close by. This is not our first time at Ohana. We ate here many times during pandemic but we ordered to go and ate outdoors. This is our first time actually eating indoors at Ohana. I ordered Chicken Katsu Lunch Plate and substituted extra scoop of macaroni salad for the rice. The service is fairly good. The eating area is not your cleanliest! We moved some tables so we could sit together and the floors were filthy. The food was piping hot and crispy and I asked for an extra sauce for the katsu and they were very accommodating. One other person ordered the Loco Moco Lunch Plate that looked very good too. Overall good food and decent service.

We came by for lunch again after golf. Their kiosk working now. Tap the monitor and select what you want to eat & drink. Add tip (optional), enter your name, and pay online. Unbeknownst to us if your order amount is $15 or more you get a free bag of chips. We were glad we got to use the online kiosk which sped up the ordering process. Got our food and ate by Togo's again as there's still no indoor dining at Ohana.

3 bbq meat combo: 1 strip of rib, 1 slab of chicken with skin, beef (dried almost like jerky) 2 scoops of rice 1 scoop of macaroni
    Helen L.

I was looking at the window sign "coconut soft serve." Not true, they don't serve it any more. Wish they would take it down. Today was hot 85 degrees and coconut soft serve would hit the spot. Got the three meat bbq combo. Big slab of chicken with skin. 1 strip of rib, meaty! The beef was disappointing. Dry and almost like beef jerky. I appreciate not much fat in any of their meats. You actually get meat. 1 scoop of macaroni was okay and 2 scoop of rice. The best part was the very sweet cabbage on the bottom. You got to have good eyes to see the menu above the cashier. I'm sorry for those who might need glasses. I had to go back outside to look at their menu on the window.

So much for welcoming Hawaiian attitude... First time here decided to order barbecue beef website has it priced for $12.95 they wanted to overcharge me $14.95. I let the employee know running the register that their website says $12.95 that's what I want to get charged he responded no they go by the price that's on their menu in the restaurant and I said goodbye I will never return to this restaurant false advertisement 100%

Needed a quick bite while shopping- but wasn't in the mood for coffee shop pastries nor fast food. This place caught my eye- spam musubi sounded like exactly what I'm craving. 5.50 for an order of two- And they were delicious. Nice balance if rice to salty spam & I waited a few minutes- was impressed these were fresh & piping hot! (The last time I ordered musubi at a different place they had it all Pre-made. ) they offered me sauces but I didn't feel like it needed more flavor. 5.25 for fruit smoothies- nice variety. Service was fast & friendly. Decor is typical uninspired & I wish they sold Ito-en tea or something else non-sweetened. Next time I'll try one of the bowls. People around me seemed to b enjoying theirs.

King Kong BBQ is a great place to grab a quick meal at an affordable price. This Chinese "fast…read morefood" place features ready to serve hot foods and various cooked meats. I was there at 7pm on a Saturday. I've seen this place cross my Yelp feed a few times, so I wanted to come try it. I also got a tip from a Yelp Elite that the roast pig was very good here. So I ordered the $8.99 Combo meal- Chow Mein and/or Fried Rice + 2 Items from the steam table. -at extra cost, you can sub meats from the BBQ/Cooked Meat section. So I got fried rice, and string beans w/ Chicken/Mushrooms. 2nd item was Chicken in gravy w/ mixed veggies. I asked them to put some gravy over the rice to make it soft and moist. Good portions! You get alot of food for $8.99. Chicken was very tender and easy to eat. All the foods were good. I also got 1/2 a roast duck and a small box of roast pig to try. They said they cook the roast ducks there. The duck had a mild flavor, but it was tender and moist. The roast pig was good. Moist juicy meat. Crispy crunchy pork skin. There's tables and booths in the dining room. The decor doesn't match an asian restaurant. Honestly, I can't remember what used to be here. The layout and outside design looks like an old style Taco Bell. They have a large parking lot. There's a 7-11 sign, but no 7-11 store. The staff was very nice. You just tell them what you want, and point at which tray of food. BTW...."BBQ" means Chinese BBQ.... - Roast Pork Belly - Roast Duck - Imperial Chicken - Soy Sauce Chicken - Honey BBQ Pork Overall a very good experience, and I would return. ------------------------------------- Located at East 14th St & 136th Ave, Near San Leandro Blvd. Across the street from Palma Plaza and San Leandro Hospital. The wait time for being served was quite long here but it may have been due to the restaurant being short-staffed. 5/5 - Spicy Pork Bulgogi - The best dish we had at this place! The short rib was also well-seasoned, and we couldn't get enough of it! 4/5 - Soft Tofu Soup - The soup was very tasty and not too spicy or salty! Unfortunately we thought the serving was a bit small relative to other locations we've had this same dish and relative to the other dishes for its price, so keep that in mind! 3.5/5 - Stir-Fried Shrimp - The shrimp was just as good as the vegetables served in the stir-fry sauce. Order at the counter and sit and enjoy kind of place. It's decorated simply with a tv that was playing ufc and we were welcomed by Tim who was so warm and hilarious our entire visit. First thing I noticed was how fairly priced the place is. 1lb of brisket is 30 dollars, potato salad is 5 dollars and soda is 2 dollars (some places charge like 4 bucks for a can!) Ordered, sat down and enjoyed some convo with the order and our food came out in about 10min. If there's one thing to get, it's the brisket fries!! Oh my word, the sauce and cheese all go so well with the bbq. I like how their sauce has a kick to it and isn't overly sweet. The brisket was really tender and smoked well. I personally enjoy fattier pieces of brisket but I bet if I would've asked for those cuts he might've accommodated. The smoked potatoes salad is almost a must. Very unique style of potato salad and pairs well with everything. We noticed they also do catering, and the prices for that also look very reasonable. Would definitely considering using them for our next party!

There are two dipping sauces, a plum based katsu sauce, and a soy sauce hybrid. The katsu sauce has a little bit of heat, but mild enough that my SO whom normally does not eat any spicy, can handle it. Which ever combo or item you pick, it's outstanding. I got the Tom Yum broth, and asked for a side of white rice which is free. The broth was super tart and flavorful, like mama noodles which I love. There were ingredients that you'd typically see at hot pot spots like beef, lamb, spam, tofu for proteins, and spinach, cabbage, corn, etc. for veggies. Lots of noodle options, and the sauce bar, although small, I really enjoyed the sesame sauce, house chili, and the spicy garlic sauce. They even have perfectly medium-cooked fried eggs that I felt went well with the tom yum broth. We were conservative with our ingredients because we didn't want to accidentally have a $40 bowl of soup, but we were under the minimum so we had to add a few more to get it to 0.80 ounces. At that minimum, our bowls were a very reasonable $13. The only con is that it's a bit small inside so I can see it getting annoying on busy weekends especially as people crowd around to choose ingredients. Luckily on a weekday late lunch it was pretty dead. Other small con is water is served in small paper cups so we had to ask for refills often. Small gripe but with spicy soup, water is needed and in large quantities to offset some of the spiciness. Service was amazing, prompt and friendly. Overall, solid spot and glad we got to try it!

Basically, you walk in, grab a bowl, and pick out whatever meats, veggies, noodles, etc. you want. Then you bring it to the counter, they weigh it, and that's how they charge you. I've always been kind of hesitant to try one because I was scared I'd end up with a $20+ bowl by accident. I was excited to see that Master Gua Malatang & BBQ opened up near me, so I finally gave it a shot. They charge $14.99 per pound with a minimum of 0.80 lbs, which honestly isn't bad. I tried to be smart and picked mostly light stuff like spinach, sprouts, and tofu. I avoided heavier stuff like corn on the cob or beef balls. When I went to weigh it, my bowl came out to 0.65 lbs, so I went back and added a little more meat and veggies to hit 0.85. My total came out under $13, which is a great deal for how filling it was. I got the satay broth, which is beef, shrimp, and fish-based with a peanutty flavor. It wasn't fishy at all, which I appreciated. My partner got the tom yum broth and I thought it tasted just like Mama brand instant noodles, in a good way. You also get a side of white rice with your soup, but you have to ask for it. Meat options were beef, lamb, and pork belly. Only downside is that all the meats are kind of fatty. Also, they give you tiny paper water cups. If they're gonna do that, they really need to have a self-serve water station or just give people bigger cups so you don't have to keep asking for refills. The service was great though. The lady working was super friendly and helpful. If you're worried about the price, I recommend just filling your bowl with what you think you'll eat, weighing it, and then adding more if you need to meet the minimum. They also have a sauce bar so you can make your own dipping sauce, but it would be cool if they put out some suggested combos for people who don't know what to mix. Overall, I'll definitely be back. This place is perfect for a quick, comforting meal especially if you're nursing a hangover.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

I decided to take start off the New Year by being grateful, taking my friend to lunch, a wonderful…read morelunch at that! Service was ok, they give you a pad to order from, comes in English or Chinese. We ordered their specialty fish and pickled veggies, spicy and numbing but we all liked it, we opted for noodles to pair with it. Then we ordered sweet and sour spareribs, I've always had a tangy tastebud, then the ultimate Bbq pork which a special that I've yet to have anywhere else, it was the best tasting bbq pork. We ordered a dessert of sticky rice sticks that was intended to be crunchy but it wasn't so I'd skip that, not really worth it.
