This place is a gem. I came here for lunch and the setup was very easy--you pick up a menu and choose what you want. They're very helpful and greeted us warmly when we walked through the door. It's very affordable (2 proteins for $8.99!) and I was a big fan of the Cajun tuna and the salmon. It sounded strange but it's so good! They really stack on the proteins and toppings, and the bowl is not 70% rice, as I have found with many other poke places. There's a lot of room for customization so you can make it vegetarian or vegan or any way to fit any dietary restrictions. I continue to be impressed with the variety of food choices around my work location in Hurst. After running an errand in the area, I was on the hunt for lunch and spotted Ono Poke. The place is clean and bright. The staff who helped me were all friendly, although it did take some convincing to get the young man behind the counter to douse my bowl with their spiciest sauce..but he eventually did. I got a build your own poke bowl-it includes a base (sushi rice for me), two proteins (tuna & cajun tuna) and unlimited other toppings, such as edamame, mushrooms, seaweed salad, radishes, crunchy onions & garlic, and a variety of sauces-lots of good stuff. I've been to many poke places and can easily say this one is not good at all. First of all they charge you extra if you get over 5 toppings which I have absolutely never seen at any other place, and they also charge $1 extra for mango, which is unreasonable. For cream cheese and avocado I understand but have never seen anywhere else charge for mango. The poke sauce itself was not good and tasted literally just like wasabi and bad soy sauce. There are many places to eat in Dallas and Fort Worth, I would suggest trying elsewhere. read more

Easily my go to takeout spot during the pandemic. Clean, fast and generously plated, Ono poke has some great options for those on a low carb diet as well as those who aren't. I usually get the large bowl with the zoodles (one thing that isn't found in most poke places), with shrimp, salmon and tuna. The amount of seafood provided in each bowl is quite substantial, and the side veggies are delicious as well. Placing the order online is decent but their website isn't the best. However, it serves the purpose. Overall, nice restaurant, clean and while it is remarkably large inside, I'm glad to see the owners pivoting to a "lemonade stand" approach for the entrance. Easily the best poke restaurant I've been to -- friendly service, generous portions, and short wait times. The online ordering is a bit funny, but I prefer to order in-store anyways. When you arrive, there's a little area with slips of paper, which you fill out and leave at the end of the poke workstation. Some menu options are missing, but I was able to tell the kind chef what I wanted, and she didn't miss a beat. You can even watch the whole building process, which I thought was pretty cool! I get the salmon, tuna, and crab salad. My partner gets the tofu. All-in-all, I love this place and would eat here every day, if I could. The store is clean, and the food is fresh. I believe it's a family that runs the place, too -- their children are always well-behaved, and their presence never interferes with my dining experience. I'm an avid poke lover, but most of my favorite poke places are along the CA And HI coastline. FOOD: Since this location is in the middle of Texas I can't expect it to be on par. That being said, this place has pretty fresh ingredients and delicious poke bowls for its location. Lots of sauce and mix-in options. Bummer you're limited to 5 mix-ins and the crab salad is considered a protein not a mix-in, but it makes sense given the lower priced bowl than other places like up in North Dallas. SERVICE: Excellent! Very kind to answer my questions on the phone and patient with my order changes when I realized I was limited to 5 mixins. I didn't have my mask with me so I called and he kindly (and promptly!) came out to my car to deliver. Received my food and paid within 2 minutes of parking! I tried poke for the first time a week before this visit and it fueled my cravings for the dish...went here with family and I wanted if poke quality was consistent since the previous two places (Maki & Poke, Kahuna's) dished out fresh poke bowls. Me and my son both ordered regular bowls that we could customize, I had Teriyaki salmon as my protein and my son got spicy tuna. Ono Poke stays similarly in price to other poke joints but differs as they use tiny ice cream scoopers to portion out your protein.. They both came on trays in compostable bowls which is an added bonus, but once we opened the lids it was somewhat of a letdown! :-/ The bowl was filled less than two-thirds, one-third of the bowl was rice, and my son was disappointed that the spicy tuna was served in tartare form. The bowl itself wasn't at all filling which was predictable from those ice cream scoopers... Dining area was clean and decor was fitting, but I wouldn't come back since there's better poke places near the area. read more

Let me just start by saying I am from Hawaii, and I grew up eating actual, authentic poke. When I eat poke in Texas, I am by no means expecting "real" poke. I'm expecting that weird chipotle thing that all mainland poke places do. However... there is one thing that I absolutely cannot stand. Sushi rice (rice vinegar mixed in the rice) in poke. That is NOT how poke bowls are supposed to be made. I hate hate hate hate it when places do that. So I won't be coming here again. But if you like that, then you'll probably like this place! With that being said, the fish here was fine. It wasn't fishy, however the ahi was ground. Another thing I don't really like, but I will still eat it if the fish is fresh. You just don't know what kind of quality meat they are grinding up in there. The spicy ahi also didn't taste like actual spicy ahi, but it wasn't bad. I would say that if you haven't had actual poke, you will like this place. It's clean, the service was good, and there are a lot of options. I love love LOVE this place! I've been here three times and have ordered the volcano as a sushirito (basically an un-sliced sushi roll). It's literally everything I want in a sushi craving - spicy tuna, spicy salmon, avocado, cucumber, and spicy mayo - for a 1/4 of the price. However, you can make your own sushirito or bowl with any of the ingredients you see in front of you (think Chipotle/Subway but much classier and no tummy aches)! One thing I don't like: pre-service tipping at a non-service restaurant. Everything is self-serve besides the food. Literally. You can (and you should) throw away your own trash at the trash bin by the door, water is self-serve, napkins, utensils and condiments are all self-serve... but tipping at these establishments are subjective, so that doesn't dock a star from me. 5-stars all the way. read more

I opted for ahi, spicy salmon, and cajun blackened ahi over sushi rice. I added a bunch of veggie options (up to 5 choices) and toppings. Highly recommend the seaweed salad, lotus root chips, fried garlic, and ginger! For the sauce I chose the house miso, but I'm certain you can choose more than one. The ingredients were clean and crispy, and the fish was as fresh as you can get considering how far we are from the ocean. No fishy taste! I felt absolutely no guilt eating this as I was stuffed to the brim. The miso sauce really complimented everything I had in the bowl. They messed up my poke bowl by adding a wrong ingredient and leaving off an ingredient. Once I noticed, they were quick to make me up a new bowl.
