I have been asked to manage a warehouse at a business that I've been employed at for a long time. First order of business was to get rid of all the old stuff that wasn't being used or hadn't been used in the last 2 to 3 years. This included several pallets of electronics that didn't work or were outdated. A search for someone that would take these things is how I came to P C Consulting. They accepted all computers and their components, phone systems, printers, scanners, and other electronic equipment we had collected. They do not take TV's, but they told me that up front. I also have a Surface Pro 7 that I needed a screen replaced on. I had taken it to 4 other places trying to get it repaired. I was told that it couldn't be repaired or that they wouldn't be responsible if it didn't work if they tried to replace it. Not PC Consulting. When I asked them about it. They told me to bring it in so they could look at it. I brought it with me with the next load of old electronics I was dropping off. Mike looked at it and said it was definitely repairable. He said he would order the screen and call me when it came in. A week later he called. We scheduled the repair. I dropped it of at noon and picked it up at noon the next day. How do you find out if you're dealing with a good company, when there's a problem! When things go perfectly, well any company can "look good", but how do they handle situations that inevitably come up...that's the acid test. I've been a customer for over 10 years and just now bought another computer (refurbished) and yes there were problems. Problems that come up 3% of the time that no one could've foreseen and yes it was frustrating, but Scott, Paul, James and Robert first of all communicated with me about what happened and what we can do about it. The computer I bought seemed to have a bad hard drive, but they went the extra mile to figure out some updates needed to be performed and were able to get my refurbished computer working better than ever. Bottom line is, unforeseen situations come up and how the company handles it shows you whether they have character and really care about their customers. This is being written by the only senior with disabilities who has never owned a lap top...until now. I retired when the computer was just being created, so I am totally computer illiterate. My husband and I have used Onsite Consulting for a number of years now. They have helped us with our desktop computers and our laptops too, both in their shop and using their remote services. I am so much thankful for Scott and his team to help me repair laptop at such a very short notice. Excellent work and most of all is very friendly and reasonable price. I also ended up purchasing a laptop that works also very well in the very attractive price as my spare right in time when I just needed one. Michael was fantastic. He made a house call to work on my iMac, HP printer and cleaned up a mess on my iPhone. Michael fixed problems and patiently answered questions. No question was too dumb. When the printer started to have hiccups again, Michael returned the following day to check things out. Before he arrived however, I tried some technical fixes I'd learned from him the day before. That, combined with work he had done the day before, the printer was working fine again when he got here. He charged me nothing for the follow-up house call. Unbelievable! Not only had he taught me and shared his knowledge, he did not charge me when he returned the second day and found nothing wrong. Scott has been my computer guru for more than 20 years--he battled the phone company for me and told them it was their broad band, not my computer, that needed to be fixed. (Turns out the squirrel's nest in the box was the prob. Saved me bundles.) Since then Scott and his band of merry technophiles have installed three or four new computers for us, fixed numerous problems, and counseled us online so we didn't have to drag my husband's laptop or my old tower in to their shop. They also let me visit with my grandchildren and not sit in shame while the kids mess with my computer! And they are SO much less expensive than the ever-changing Geek Squad! Great people and really responsive service! I highly recommend them! All the staff I've worked with have been patient, helpful and skilled. They can come to your house or business or work with you via a remote session, or you can bring in your computer to work with them one on one if you need instruction or explanations, or you can just drop it off. Prices are definitely reasonable. They seem to be able to tackle most any kind of problem, and I've had certainly a variety of issues on three computers over the last couple of years. Yelp and Onsite Consulting for the win! I'm so glad I stopped in on Saturday to get help. My four-year old Macbook was doing everyone slowly (damn that rainbow spinning wheel!) and Robert took a lot of time to diagnose and do what he could to correct it, all without selling me anything. I immediately got the sense that he was trustworthy and knew what he was doing. In the end I upgraded my RAM, he installed it in 5 minutes, and because of a few other things he did, my Mac is running like butter.
