It was a fun experience. Only downsides were 2 items we ordered weren't delivered. The waiter, during the final comedian, remembered he missed one order but forgot about the other. Our plates weren't gathered/taken away leaving outer table very full/cluttered. Not much room for our hands or elbows. And our glasses weren't collected when empty, and our water glasses were empty a few times, having us to ask multiple times for refills. The service needs more experience, but the show was great. We will still go back, but just leaving some feedback so they know how our experience was. read more

I went to see Deon Cole over the weekend. He's a very entertaining guy lol. I feel that management should have a better way of getting people in the doors because there was a long line wrapped around the venue. It was extremely chilly/windy that night and I know people were freezing. I had VIP so I walked right in. The seats are good but so uncomfortable! Nice for an evening out with dinner and a show. The space is tight and you are sitting on top of the diners next to you. Unfortunately for this show the time was advertised with tickets saying the same advertised time for the doors to open, however when we arrived the time was changed. The staff was rude to anyone who questioned it and showed them the evidence of the mistake, many other patron in line had the advertised time as well. No accountability for misadvertising. Customer service and the show was overall was ok, when you take that away from the experience. read more

We seen Nurse Blake tonight and it was very fun! We got hooked up by Brandon who so kindly gave us good seating! He was very sweet and amazing for doing what he did. So this review is STRICTLY ON FOOD & SERVICE, not the Comedians seen. The food was average and just what you'd expect to get at a comedy club. What I mean by this is everyone is loaded up in alcohol and drinks, so the senses are dulled so there is no flavor or spices really with food. The Philly sandwich and the beef for the tacos & the chicken taco were definitely canned. Lol you can literally taste the last of flavoring in the meets because it was canned. (Even had the can juices soaking the tortillas so they fell apart as soon as I ate it.) The guacamole had a lot of promise it looked like with black beans and all the ingredients added into it, but there was still no spices or seasoning added to it. Not even salt it tasted like. The upside, they have a full bar. Downside, service itself was okay. Our waitress was nice but we paid for VIP seating, and we were the last to get our food out of everyone in VIP getting theirs and even majority of the other seats and tables getting their food. The table next to us also ordered a simple vodka, and they never got their drink. I heard the gentleman asking where it would be and the waitress kept saying I'll go check on it. He never got his drink. It wasn't until they did last call they told him sorry we never got you your drink, we won't charge you for that one..( lol I would hope not & it wasn't even my table/tab.) The ambiance was okay. Every crowded. I know this Improv is relatively small and they try to fit as many people in as they can, but everyone is literally right on top of each other, that's how I heard the whole conversation of the people next to us. lol. I'm gonna start off by saying Ontario Improv is a wonderful establishment managed by Ivan Castaneda. He's very respectful very attentive to the guest needs 10 out of 10 experience. Also, the ambience was great clean venue. The lighting was perfect. I recommend anyone to go to the venue. The food was great. The drinks was great. My boyfriend and I really had great time on Saturday the 17th. We enjoyed the awesome show with Pablo Francisco who was really funny but what made the experience even better was the service here that night. Our waitress was Taylor and she was amazing . She greeted us with such a welcoming presence and really was on top of it making sure we were taken care of during our visit there. Customer service is so very important to me and my boyfriend so when someone like Taylor treated us with such respect and positive attention I want to acknowledge it ! I went to Ontario Improv to see Nate Jackson a week ago. The show was amazing! I had a great time. He was so funny. I absolutely loved his involvement with the crowd. I was called out on & roasted a little bit. He made a male audience member sing me happy birthday. He also tried to hook me up with single bachelors in the crowd. It was such a vibe. The only complaint with the show was the two female comediennes. They weren't very funny. His set was 10/10. My review is for the venue. It was cramped! My friend & I did not know they would pair us up with strangers at our table. It was extremely awkward. One of the ladies at our table appeared very miserable & had a "stank" attitude. I was so uncomfortable in my seat because I could not stretch my legs. I had to keep my chair pulled in tight because of the narrow walkway. People kept bumping into me because guests were packed in like sardines. The guys behind me had there legs outstretched and kept bumping my chair. Aside from that, the server taking our orders was forgetful. After 10-15 mins of ordering my drink & it not coming out, my friend asked our server on the eta. She had forgotten to put in my order. Hello, I just wanted to write to your organization to express how upset I am with how both myself and my friend were treated at your establishment last night.  Here are the events that transpired: We arrived at the Ontario Improve roughly around 6:30pm last night and were seated in the back of the theater which was fine. Our server, Tricia R, then came by our table to get our food and drink order. We gave her our order of an appetizer of Mozzarella Sticks and I asked for one shot of Fireball and a Arnold Palmer Ice T and Lemonade and my friend ordered a Rum and Coke in a tall glass so it wouldn't be as strong. The server then said she would be by in a little bit to check on us and take our food order. After our original order came it was about 20 min later that we had to stop the server and let her know that we were ready to order otherwise she would have just kept on walking past our table, which she did several times with no intention of stopping. My friend gave her order and then the server without asking me what I wanted began to walk away. My friend stopped her and said that I would like to order as well and she then took my order. Then when the food did arrive at our table my friend's food came out but mine did not. My food arrived roughly about 15 min later when my friend was almost completely finished eating. Then the strange behavior started where the server would come to the table next to us on each side and not stop at our table. She did this twice and the second time we couldn't believe how she was avoiding us and we then asked her to stop so that we could order one more round of drinks since we only had one beverage so far throughout the night. She then eventually started handing out the checks and then we asked her what happened to our drinks and got no response from her. She then brought us both water about five min later and I think that was to be able to tell her manager she was taking care of us. When she then came by to collect the checks, we asked again what happened to our drinks and her response was that that she didn't feel comfortable service us anymore. Needless to say, we were stunned by this since we weren't loud of belligerent in any way during the show and having been a server myself in the past, I always treat servers with the utmost respect. Then I saw her go over to have a talk to her manager. I then followed and heard her tell the manager that we were swearing throughout the show, which was a complete lie and I do hope you have video footage that would show us during the show to prove how what she was saying was a lie. I then spoke with the manager and he sounded like he was going to put us on a black list or not allow us back to the venue, where we had been many times over the years. I then asked for him to take care of the check and he told us well you can just walk out if you like, which I felt was a tactic to get us arrested or Black Listed, so I absolutely refused that and told him I wanted to make sure we paid our bill. So the entire evening we both only had one drink, which would hardly be grounds to say we were drunk, but the part that I felt started the strange treatment was when we were ordering our food and she didn't want to take my order only my friends. I find this treatment very upsetting and uncalled for in any way. read more

It was a Hocus Pocus brunch Drag show. Very crowded this leaving little room for the queens to strut their stuff. I wish they could have done some of the moves I've seen other dancers do when they have the actual space to strut their stuff. Food was meh. Crowd was excited to be there. Less Hocus Pocus theme than I felt was advertised. I'm a big Hocus pocus fan so this left me a bit disappointed. Wouldn't do it again as really wasn't what was advertised. Had VIP seats yet because of the stage being so small they spent very little time preforming on it and more in the isles in the back. Having to pay for a two-item minimum product, rather it's food or a beverage is insane! That is giving off strip club vibes. If you are going to require guests to purchase a two-item minimum product just make sure the food is edible, especially for the prices. I ordered the shredded beef tacos and I can honestly say that they taste like canned tuna with beef bouillon flavor. By looking at the food of other guest you can tell that the food is microwaved and out of the box. The servers were extremely nice. read more

First time here, the show was hilarious. Saw The Dirty Show, can't wait for another one of those. As far as my experience it was OK couldof been better. Box office lady wasn't very ppl friendly nor was the girl at the door. There were 2 at the door one was very nice, she was checking the bags. The other checking you in wasn't. No smile no customer service skills. Idk if it's me or is customer service dead. Service inside: the only one that stood out to me was HALEY, super attentive girl, very nice, great customer service skills. Always with a smile, she greeted us when we arrived and as we left. Always kept up with us and what we needed. AMAZING!!! Thank you Haley. They need more of you. Insides: the place is nice, big and clean. Seats are great pretty much from anywhere i would avoid the sides(wall) that's just me tho. Ambiance is dim, great music MC was on it when they needed lights, the vibe was great and good crowd. Food: we had pretzels, hamburger egg rolls and deep fried pickles all were yummy despite what I expected. I had an Arnold palmer, not good at all, avoid it. Drinks range from 17-18$ apps also about 15$ and soda 7$ Show: hilarious and they had gifts always a plus. read more

Last we attended a show for the headliner Gary Owen. It was our first time in this venue and other than pictures on Yelp and Google we didn't know what to expect. We arrived right when it said the doors would open and found a queue to enter the venue. We waited in line for about forty minutes with everyone else and the line began to move in waves. The doors said 9:30 PM and we were led to believe the show would begin between 9:45 PM and 10:00 PM. That wasn't the case. When we got to near the entrance a security person checked our digital tickets and we found out there was a second line area for VIP ticket holders which we were. It was impossible to tell that line existed and there was no signage or information via email that said it was a thing. It would have been nice to know that from the before we arrived. Anyway the door staff were great. We walked inside down the long hallway and were immediately taken to half booth seating located stage left. It was a perfect spot! We were greeted by a server who took our drink order and asked about food interests. We passed on food but ordered cocktails. Despite the large number of people it didn't take too long to get drinks. The opening act a comedian named Adam came out and with no knowledge I didn't expect a lot but I was happily surprised along with the entire venue... he was a riot!!! I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. His set was probably 15-20 minutes. He got the show started excellently! The venue erupted when Gary Owen came to the stage. He came out on fire! It was epic. He told a great story about Katt Williams and he from back in the day. His set was about an hour and a half and I laughed so hard I thought I was going to bust. After we were able to pay a small fee for a meet and greet and a great photo. It was a fantastic Friday night! read more

My hubby and I went to the improv for date night last night for something different. The drinks were seriously lacking $18 for an old-fashioned that was mixed with juice??? Old fashion's are not mixed with anything, and garnished with cherries and orange zest. Then I decided to try the espresso martini equally disappointing for a high price tag.$$$ If your going to charge $18 for a drink, you need to learn how to make an $18 drink properly! They packed us in like sardines. We did not like this. We paid extra for the VIP seats up close by the stage and we sat on the booth side. They took the two chairs on the other side of the table and turned them around for more people to sit there and block our view , and the servers could barely squeeze by everyone because there was absolutely no room for them to walk in between everyone, fire code violation! Our server was great and attentive, and the comedians entertained us and we enjoyed their comedy. Chappelle the headliner was amazing. read more

First time at Ontario improv. I came because my man Lewis Belt was going to be in town. So I had to come check him out. I don't think he was the headliner but he was the funniest guy that night. Frankie Marco was funny too. He was the host. The other guy, I can't remember his name. Was aight. No hate. But I'm giving 4 stars because it was a cool venue. Much like all comedy clubs, Ontario improv was spacious, clean, dim and plenty of parking! It's in a mall! There's a two drink minimum. I don't drink. So I always over pay for water lol I had a good time. The staff and servers are super chill. So shout out to them. I paid for my tickets online. I showed up and checked in. Smooth. I received an advertisement for tonight's show (Wednesday) for free tickets. I reserved the tickets on evenbrite. I show up to the venue and they don't let me in.... Staff was very room no explanation just a straight you're not getting in! People who payed were welcomed in. Hmmm then why did they give me a ticket to come all the way over to not let me in? The comedians and staff were great, the bad review is for the VIP purchase, which it is not. What's not mentioned on the website is the VIP section is also first come first serve so you still have to arrive very early, just like general admission, to get a decent seat. We arrived 20 minutes before the show and were placed at a last available table against a wall, with a view behind the on stage comedians, surrounded buy other packed tables. If you have to arrive an hour and a half before the show starts for a decent seat anyway, don't waste your money on VIP tickets. And the VIP line was the same line as general admission. There's nothing VIP about this experience other than you pay double. And when I brought it to the attention of the manger, he seemed to find amusement in our bad seats, I did not and won't be back. read more

Been to the Improv several times, never really had an issue until recently. I went with my friend and we were seated at a table where we knew people would be seated in front of us. Got it, hopefully it wouldn't be really tall people but we figured that the employees seating people wouldn't sit someone very tall in front of others that it would obstruct the view. Well we were wrong!! Suddenly a very tall and wide person was sat in front of us that we couldn't see the stage. We didn't come to see someone's wide back!!!! We asked the person who was directing the seating if we could move and explained the situation and she asked if we already ordered food and drink and we said yes and she then said , no sorry because of the servers. I didn't understand why our server couldn't close our bill so she could get the tip/sale. We insisted to get moved and she said she would talk to the manager. Finally we got moved and we were happy. So we sat at another table, the venue was not at capacity so there was plenty of seating available. Once we sat at the new table we were told we had to sit side by side just in case they had to sit other people. We asked since there was sooooooooo many tables still open can we not have others at the table plus we noticed that they were seating people in row behind us. Our row wasn't even full , The guy we were talking to was SUPER RUDE! He was saying, didn't you know people would be seated in front of you??!!! Don't you know you have to be seated side by side. Just an ass! So we asked to speak to a manager and my friend explained the situation and he seemed to listen but you can tell he didn't want to understand. We explained the reason for asking to be moved. The show itself was ok. Service was good. If they could be flexible with seating when obviously not at capacity and view is being obstructed that would've made it better without all the rudeness of employees. read more

So Ontario is my favorite Improv from all the others I've been to. No issues ordering online tix. No issues on the drive except for it being 101 degrees. It's located at Ontario Mills which you can see right off the freeway. It was a busy Friday when I came with a Halloween Carnival happening but there was still lots of parking. Didn't have to search. Parked really close to the entrance of the Improv. I liked seeing security all over. Police camera towers, security in SUV's and others walking. There was no queue for Will Call. Waited maybe 10 min and we were lead inside in groups. I like the room size and I was expecting to be scrunched in like a NYC subway during peak hours coz that's how it's been at all the other Improvs I've been to. Not this one. Lots of personal space not invaded. It made it easy to relax and enjoy the set. Ordered shrimp tacos which came with 3 and was a good size with a good amount of shrimp. I liked it and I paired it with a Tajin rimmed Mango cocktail. It was good. The sound system was also good. This was a really fun evening. The staff were excellent. Great venue to come see some great comedians. This is NOT a review on my particular show [although the comedian I came to see was awesome as expected]. This review is for the Ontario Improv as a venue and entertainment value. First, the drinks are reasonable for this type of venue. My typ drink is a Jameson on the rocks so hard to screw that up. They had beers that the kids liked and the girls ordered their drinks with no complaints. We had dined previously to the event but did order a couple of appetizers including: mozzarella sticks [son's fav] and pretzel sticks [my fav] and both were good. BUT MINE WAS BETTER! Sorry had to throw that in. The crew is curteous and while the venue is spacious it is also small enough that every seat has a great view. read more

We truly enjoyed our time at the Ontario Improv, and will definitely be making return visits. Getting in is a fairly smooth process, DO NOTE, if you get VIP admission, there is a separate line that you go through (when first jumping to the back of the line, you would not know or see this). The servers and service were great; the food and cocktail selection was very good, both tasting really good. The prices are at the higher end - expect to pay $13-$16 per drink and around $14-$25 for food items (appetizers to entrees). The only thing we were not fully satisfied with - even with VIP seating (next to the stage), in an effort to get as many paying customers into the venue every possible open area is filled with extra chairs. For us, even in a booth and very close to the stage, other attendees were seated directly (nearly touching) in front of our table; for us, those people directly in front of us were taller, so disrupted our "VIP seating view." All 'n all, a very great place to catch a few laughs and enjoy some, "time away." For our specific show featuring Carlos Mencia, we will keep an eye out for his return to this location! read more

I have been to this location a handful of times and this time in particular as far as seating quickness and food selection was pretty great and the newly improved menu was a highlight for me, compared to my last visit just in March of this year to see Arnez J. I went on a Saturday in the beginning of December to see Tony Rock and the drink and food choices now provide more of a variety and flavor palette. The marketing screen for the comedian outside of the comedy club was not working, it was just blank which was unfortunate to see on a busy weekend and opening night/show. The hallway entering the club is bare and scarce, screaming for a remodel or at the very least a bucket of fresh paint! But back to the menu, they even offer a couple mock-tails which I thought was super new wave and on-trend. I ordered a side of seasoned french fries and a sampler dessert. The key lime pie was my favorite out of the two, once I was able to get all of the components in the mason jar. It was pretty tasty. I wish they would however improve the comfort of the seats for customers at some point SOON. The lack of cushion and back support are terrible for any long sitting and definitely is something to consider pre-booking. This choice of money investment would be super beneficial I think, to not only the business, but it's partners and patrons because I mean who doesn't love and need to laugh! I saw the comedian Concrete here for his sold-out weekend in July, and I loved these facilities! The first main thing I noticed was how the AC worked beautifully despite a sold-out crowd. The staff was very quick in getting us seats, and provided us with seating options. The drink menu was delicious, although I did find my 2 moscow mules lacking alcohol. Other than that, their lighting and sound system was great!! Was able to find parking easily since it's located inside Ontario Mills. Will definitely come back!! read more
