Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Ooh De Lally. We initially came because the menu looked good and we loved the story of the restaurant. Honestly, we were wowed from beginning to end. The food here is great. I didn't have a bite or a drink that I didn't like. Let me start with the lobster roll. It's a bold move to serve a lobster roll on your menu in landlocked Omaha, Nebraska lol but it tasted amazing. Generous succulent chunks of lobster, perfectly seasoned on a really nice roll. I'm also a sucker for hand cut fries. These were cooked to perfection and served with one of the best aïoli sauces I've ever had. I was literally using fries to scrape the bottom of the ramekin. The muscles were great, and it was the broth that really made this dish a home run. I liked how it was served with the toasted bread standing in the dish to make an interesting shape, and they gave a very generous portion of broth. We also ordered the steak and potatoes. I'm not sure what kind of steak it was, it was a little more toothsome so I'm guessing it was a flat iron or a sirloin, but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare as we requested. The potatoes on the side were phenomenal. Well-cooked, amazing flavor, and a perfect pairing with the red meat. Our service was attentive and friendly, and the timing of the dishes coming out of the kitchen was spot on. We enjoyed the unique furnishings and atmosphere, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. A unique dinner spot nestled in Dundee minutes from downtown Omaha. Delicious food, friendly and accommodating service in a relaxed atmosphere. Nice cocktail AND mocktail menu. I could not be happier with my experience and food at Ooh De Lally. Such a beautiful and intimate space. Our server was so kind, helpful and attentive. I cannot rave enough about the food. We ordered the short rib fries for an appetizer and it came out HOT and fresh, and it was a huge bowl of them. They were delish too, everyone in our group really enjoyed them. I ordered the smoked chicken lasagna and it was delicious. A generous portion, I brought half home with me for leftovers. The flavors were just so good. First and foremost I love ooh de lallys mission. I wish more organizations took this initiative. And I'm so glad Marks old location is being utilized again, I always loved the charming outdoor patio and floor to ceiling windows overlooking underwood. And they have some of the marks classics on the menu like Mac n cheese and smoked chicken lasagna. Cocktails, service, entrees and appetizers were wonderful. Didn't realize how the restaurant was partially in an old house, very cool intimate place with a large bar. We were lucky to have a table by the windows. We started with the Sweet Corn and Crab Croquettes. They were delicious, mostly crab and came with a yummy sauce. For entrees we had the scallops and the short ribs. The scallops were perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth and full of flavor, paired with fingerling potatoes and roasted carrots. The short rib was tender and tasty with a tangy jaus and sautéed greens. Both were mouth watering and we wanted to like our plates clean. The Clear and Present Danger cocktail was my favorite very acidic with a nice amount of spice. The Peach Pepper Margarita was also very good with peach puree and dried apricot. My friends and I decided to try out the brunch buffet at Ooh De Lally for the first time, and were pretty satisfied with the experience. Google had originally said that the restaurant was closed on Sundays, but when you called the restaurant they confirmed it was open 10am-2pm for brunch, so bear that in mind when deciding to go here. I wish they would update the times on google, as we almost didn't go since we thought it was closed. We had made a reservation for the 4 of us, and when we arrived we were seated quickly even though it was already fairly packed. The restaurant itself is on the smaller more intimate side. There was lots of open windows overlooking Dundee, and so the view was beautiful. The brunch menu itself was small, but it was all you can eat so there was plenty of food to satisfy your hunger. The food overall was good. There was not a whole lot of variety or selection, but the food that was served was fairly hot and flavorful. I know they have limited room to place all the food, but they made do with the space they had. There was a little bit for everyone, but I do wish there was more variety of food served. Overall, for the price you pay and the food quality it is worth the price to me. I would love to check out their lunch/dinner menu in the future! read more

We had reservations for a regular table and were seated immediately at an excellent window spot. She ordered the Mocktail Spritzer, I had Sauvignon Blanc. Both paired perfectly with the Dundee Dip and side of Mark's Mac n Cheese as appetizers--the highlights of the meal. For entrées, she had the braised short ribs, I had the steak. Both were flavorful with ample portions. I paired mine with Alexander Valley Cab/Sauv. She finished her mocktail with her meal. Staff was friendly and attentive; everyone seemed genuinely engaged. Shocked we were able to get in on a Saturday night but super glad it happened! We showed up without a reservation but not to worry because there's a cute little bar just below called La Bo with stellar drinks to wait! And if you aren't finished you're allowed to bring them upstairs. Absolutely love the ambiance inside. Such a cool place. Loved looking out onto downtown Dundee. Our waitress was very friendly and gave great recommendations. Everything we ordered was tasty starting with the brussel sprouts as an appetizer. I ordered the scallops and they were very very good. Finally got to check this place off the list, and it did not disappoint! We made reservations online, and were seated immediately upon arrival. The atmosphere was dark and cozy, with comfortable seating and low ceilings. I'm sure the views are better in the daylight! They had just rolled out a new menu that day, and our server wasn't super familiar with it, but he did a great job answering any questions we had. We tried a couple of the appetizers, short rib fries were the standout, fresh cut fries with a tasty sauce and tender short rib on top. For an entree I ordered the smoked chicken lasagna, which was a very unique take on lasagna and I savored every bite! Parking was fairly easy around Dundee even on a busy Saturday night. The place is small so maybe not ideal for larger groups. Would love to go back when the weather is nice and check out their little patio out back! read more

What an adorable place! Terragon mushroom soup was luxurious and hearty. The chopped salad incredibly flavorful and delicious with very textures, making it an adventure to enjoy and eat. This was our first time dining at Ooh De Lally and we chose it to celebrate my husband's birthday. The proximity to our home is great and they have a really cute space. Service was good and prompt. I found our server to be very friendly! I really liked the cocktails (Horsing Around and a Lemon Drop) we ordered and we had the crab and sweet corn croquettes as our starter. They were crispy and the remoulade served with them had great flavor. Our entrees were pretty good but they unfortunately didn't knock it out of the park for me. I ordered the lobster roll (which ended up being $37) and it tasted extremely bland. I barely had any of the sauce and I think it would have made a big difference had there been more. Such a bummer there. My husband chose the short rib grilled cheese and that ended up being pretty tasty. As his side, he got the fries which were okay. The aioli served with them was delicious though. My side was broccolini and I enjoyed it. Our daughter got a side of Mac and cheese and ate some of our sides. She was a happy camper. First thing off the bat, our server Kristen has an amazing personality and is fabulous at her job. I sincerely hope that she accomplishes everything she is striding towards in life. Not a personal fan of mushrooms, but the mushroom soup was very well done. The mussels were great, the broth they're in was amazing. The steak was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend said his scallops were undercooked a bit and the broth/sauce it was in was.. something like tv static? The macaroni, however, was fabulous, literally so so delicious. I also don't like chocolate, let alone dark chocolate, but if you like chocolate you can't miss the chocolate crème brûlée. Came here because the name suggested a Robin Hood theme and that's a favorite childhood movie, but what I found was so much more. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food was incredible (beet salad with chicken and a bowl of mushroom soup), and the mission is what really stood out to me. I've heard amazing things about this restaurant, and it's mission, and stopping in for the first time did not disappoint I have been to the old marks, and of course enjoy their mac & cheese back in the day. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality (and availability) of mac & cheese on this brunch buffet line! They had plenty of options for brunch, sausage, bacon, eggs, prime, rib, fruit, waffles, cinnamon rolls, pastries, etc. My favorite was the waffles, which had a crunchy coating of sugar, which is my absolute favorite! I believe the syrup was real maple syrup as well, as it seemed very high-quality and tastier than any of the phase I have had. The Shakshuka was a very pleasant surprise as well, I haven't eaten this dish often, but it was such a great addition to brunch! The atmosphere was small and cozy, we made a reservation, but didn't appear to need one as about half of the tables were open around 11 AM on a Sunday. This may be partially due to the incorrect hours when you google this restaurant-- it appears to be closed during their brunch hours, but please call them if you are ever unsure! Hmm. I feel like an outlier here. The reviews are so overwhelmingly positive, gushing even, and yet I can't bring myself to join them. If I could give a 3.5 then that's what would feel right. As it is it's either 3 or 4, and based on our very friendly server (Brooke) and the charming ambience, tie goes up to 4. I really wanted more from the food. I was so very excited for the Brussels sprouts, which were ... fine. Then the pan seated scallops were just ok. The chopped salad was pretty decent. The best thing to be honest was the mac and cheese I kept stealing from my wife. That and the whiskey bread pudding, which I'd definitely recommend getting with the ice cream. No one at the table had that, OMG, you have to try this! moment. Which is kind of sad because the overall ambience and experience deserved it. This strikes me as a good place that should be great. I think some people of Omaha missed Marks when covid happened and restaurants closed their doors as per ordinances. And then after a couple years Marks closed for good (very sad). But, Ooh De Lally opened yesterday for all of Omaha to enjoy this space again. Ooh De Lally has embraced the space and history and offers a Marks Mac & Cheese, and it is delicious, like the good ol' days. And there is an option to add a protein on top of the Mac & cheese, so I opted for the braised short ribs. The beef was tender with a nice umami quality. The Mac & cheese is topped with toasted bread crumbs that add a great crunch texture. I also got the brown butter lobster roll. This roll was made with a New England loaf hotdog bun which was toasted. The lobster was drizzled with brown butter in a Connecticut roll tradition. This is my favorite way to eat a lobster roll - lobster and butter. The standard side is house cut fries. These were perfectly soft in the center, crunchy on the outside and sprinkled perfectly with salt. To start the meal, there are appetizers, soup and salads. I opted for the mushroom soup. Again, another win. A fun thing to know, there is an all women bar team to take care of all your beverage needs from water to cocktails. There is also well crafted mocktails for your non-alcoholic enjoyment. I am a big fan of a good mocktail and I enjoyed one here. The restaurant is up stairs on the 2nd floor. Pro tip, there are a couple accessible parking spots on the top level in the alley behind the building. So if you need one level access, you got it. read more

I cannot wait to return. The 3 items we sampled - Brussels appetizer, lasagna and the roasted chicken salad - were all above and beyond. I think this true star of the show was definitely the brussel sprouts, and I would highly recommend that! Every single bite was flavorful and they were wrapped in a delightful crunch from the pecorino cheese. I was really impressed with the size of the salad as well, rarely do I order a salad that ends up being large enough to make me question whether or not I will be able to finish it it was also elevated and so delicious! The staff was so friendly and the food was so so good. Not your typical breakfast buffet (they have the classics but also some other stuff). The restaurant was clean well lit and inviting. They knew everything on the menu from the front to the back. I had a short rib, grilled cheese sandwich with the homemade fries, man can I say finger licking delicious it was made with the real butter that you could taste came out hot. The meat was so tender I could chew it and not worry about it being caught in my teeth. The bread was fresh and my fries was seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be going back again.
