Restaurants can charge whatever price per entree or in this case omakase, but it is up to the consumer to decide if the price paid was at fair valued and justified. Example, you will not read reviews about how expensive and overly price urasawa is, why? Well maybe because the consumers felt the food, the service and the overall dining experience was reasonable and price right at $300+ per person. The wait staff here are friendly but lack training and guidance, perhaps that can attribute to the chef's lack of training knowledge and support. Any establishment with the chef/owner yelling or playing dictator to his employee infront of customers is extremely un-professional and not very classy to say the least, even though they may still think or even claim they are a "high class" restaurant. With the price they charging the place should have more of a private secluded seating for each table. Instead of one open dining area where you can pretty much see, hear the tables around you and of course you definitely will not miss the chef yelling or playing who's the boss with his staff. I am afraid this is another wanna be high end dining restaurant, with a lot of high prices and clearly in the end not so much of dining. So we ordered a sashimi bowl, a premium chirashi, whatever you called that, its with rice and sashimi on the top. It was like 35$ each order, so we ordered one of each. Came out looking nice, but guess what? Starting on the second piece of sashimi, i can eat tenders from the sashimi ! Come on now guys, have you ever eaten sashimi with tenders in it? Maybe cheap ass sushi places would give that out, at a HIGH CLASS wanna be like sushi place, you should know better to cut out all the tenders before serving it right ? Ok now, i have provided some pictures to show you all what i am trying to describe here. Its on picture 128 and 129. I showed it to their manager, guess what respond he gave us? PLEASE DO NOT WRITE REVIEWS IF YOU HAVEN'T EVEN TRIED OUT THE PLACE. Many people like me actually read the reviews before trying new restaurants. First of all, the sashimi are not fresh at all. My cousin and I had diarrhea after going for dinner. I would think they would carry high quality of sashimi since they are pretty pricy & a NEW restaurant . Been there for over 40 times over the past 5 years! This place is the best for walnut/Rowland/diamond areas. If you like seared/cooked things like me, they should be one of the best around San Gabriel valley. The price ranges from $120-250. However, if you like authentic Japanese sushi-sushi, you will feel it's only worth 3 stars. Their fish and other seafood are definitely fresh, but I've had better ones in OC, LA and Santa Monica. And the verities of the types of fish are limited. So I give it a 4 -stars because I understand true sushi fans won't feel love it as much. read more

Read all the reviews and decided to try it out for lunch with the fam. We had the regular chirashi bowl, salmon skin salad and combo lunch (tempura/crunchy roll). Chirashi bowl done very well with good quality sushi. I would say quality-wise it's pretty comparable Sushi Gen in Little Tokyoa but minus the far drive (and you still get more overall at Sushi Gen)! Salad was done well, but definitely good for sharing. Tempura was good, but kinda skimpy with only 4 pieces and crunchy roll was nothing special. Visited this restaurant three times. It was pretty good at my first visit 2 years ago. After the pandemic, they reopened, the food quality is worse and worse. Cleanliness is bad. Customer service is bad for its price! The price you charge us is similar to a Michelin star restaurant. But environment is soooo bad and not enjoyable at all. In and Out customer service is better than here! The sashimi is not fresh any more! Please don't come and waste that much money for the horrible experience ! read more

Amazing Food!!! I am a Vegetarian and I must say that the food here is incredible. It is elegantly prepared. Kurt Chen is the Master Chef and he made a nice 3 course vegetarian dish that surpassed my expectations. I'm glad that I came with my friends because they also got to enjoy the Sushi and Sashimi that Kurt and his Sushi Chefs made. Will def. I have been a big fan of sashimi and sushi ever since i got married with my Japanese/Chinese husband. Its my first time here since I see the good reviews on yelp. I placed it at 12:27 and the system said I can pick up at 1:45 and when I arrive, they did not even know there is an order, plus the lady attitude is bad like So what, I am busy. Whenever I come here I eat the three tuna belly plate sushi. They are absolutely amazing. It melts in my mouth and even if you don't like sushi like my mom, it could open up a whole new world for you. The only reason why I gave 4 is that the tempura that I ordered was too plain.
