I have been craving authentic Greek food since our trip last year. While visiting the area I saw this place on Yelp and decided to try, so glad we did. I had the Moussaka and my husband had a Gyro we split the Greek traditional salad. Very friendly owner, if we could have just had some cats at our feet it would have passed for Greece!

So glad we found this gem and stopped in for dinner after our senior softball tournament. The food was delicious! Loved to see all the beautiful decorations which made the ambiance very nice. The service was very good as well.

I personally love this place for most things. I would say that the gyros are very good. My gf and I like to get the Chicago gyro because it's beef and lamb. I ordered the Greek/lamb burger recently and it left something to be desired. They definitely overcooked it on this day. But the flavors of everything else on the burger were good. I love getting the fries on the gyro (or they'll even put them on the side if you prefer). Their baklava is legit the second best baklava I've ever had. The service is usually middle of the road when we dine in. It's always friendly but sometimes a tad slow. We've never had to wait to order to go and never had to wait for a table! The ambiance feels like a little Greek restaurant. It's quaint and has pictures of Greece on the walls. It's also got plenty of seating for groups or if it happens to be busier. Great restaurant if you like Mediterranean food and are in the area. Try it for yourself!

Love this place. I always like the whole Bronzino fish they have. This time I have the potatoes replaced with rice. Yum yum. Also had the rice pudding, which is creamy and nice. It's quite popular for dine-ins and takeout. The service and ambiance is quite nice.

They deserve it!

So FRESH, SO MUCH FLAVOR! I want to come back! I would definitely take my family here! The food didn't take too long to wait. We had to order 2 plate of grilled octopus because my 2 kids (8 and 4 year old) couldn't get enough of it.

Chicken souvlaki

I've heard good things about OPA, but tend to forget about it, kinda gets lost in the shopping center. I'm very glad we decided to try it today. The service is simple incredible, they all seem to have a passion to serve, very friendly. I had the chicken souvlaki with OPA fries, which are fries served with feta cheese and dressing. Next time I will get the popular appetizer of some cheese with pita, served flambé at the table, seemed popular with the regulars. Desserts looked awesome, I had (can't recall the long Greek name), dough filled with custard and honey that was amazing. Will be back soon for that appetizer.

The food is definitely Mediterranean, you'll find several Turkish dishes. The flavoring was absolutely incredible. There's outdoor seating available, but since it was winter, and we had a ton of snow, we obviously sat inside. Being that it is a Greek restaurant, we had to try the gyro and falafel. The gyro was packed with meat and veggies which made every bite very satisfying. Friendly, patient, helpful, and polite. The feel of the location itself is your typical fast-food joint. Get in. Get out. Seemed clean enough. Not very cozy as in a great place to hang out. Not sure how it is during peak hours but the parking lot might get a bit crowded. The street for sure is busy & can cause cars to back up into the parking lot. The food, while not as awesome as I remembered it 5 years ago in MD, is still tasty. Today's visit, the meat in gyros was a bit dry & the gyros & the side of fries I paid full price for were rather skimpy in serving, given that the gyros used to be served with fries included in the price of the gyro. Still, the fries & the gyros still taste good. Not as good a value as in days of old...even on $7 gyro Wednesdays (which used to be $5 gyro Wednesdays). The fried fish sandwich was a good deal in these horrible economic times because it comes with a good-sized filet and fries. Although, $2 extra for Greek fries that only had a tablespoon of garlic, dry herbs, and feta crumbles tossed on top rolling off the fries then pooling at the bottom of the container. The garlic, herbs, & feta are supposed to stick to piping hot fries steaming with the awesome garlicky oil. What I received was really underwhelming and didn't even come close to the Greek fries I remember. So, I'll preface this review conclusion with this: Big Greek Cafe was one of my absolute favorite local joints... the food made me drool just thinking about it. The food was always plentiful in servings, hot, fresh, aromatic, wonderfully delicious, and everything on the menu was such a good value, you'd end up buying a ton of food. Was this trip worth the drive? Glad the curiosity about whether this VA location equaled the MD experiences was satisfied. Probably no longer high on my list to go out of my way to drive 30 minutes to get what used to be my fav sandwich. It seems a little too fast-foodsy, mass-produced now than the original delectable hole-in-the-wall local joint. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely pick up something because it's still tasty...just not as fantastic as I remember.

So, my baseline remains at what I remember about the MD location I frequented often. It was reliably delicious. Today's visit at the Leesburg location was a pleasant one. Staff were pleasant, welcoming, helpful. The restaurant itself was fairly clean, though upon entering, a table hadn't been wiped off, and there aren't many tables in this small space. Fortunately, it wasn't too crowded. The food was ok. Whiie it was too salty at the Sterling location, it was a bit bland and really greasy at the Leesburg location. When they're running Specials, these are the best value based on portion, what's included, quality, and cost. Don't get me wrong, portions aren't shockingly skimpy. They'll fill you up. Worth the drive? Maybe if I have time to kill to drive 30+ miles to get chow. I always have good memories associated with Big Greek Cafe, so it's still a go-to, but definitely not a frequent visit like I used to make. The food at this location doesn't leave me with the same mouth-watering memories I have from the MD location. However, if you're looking for a better quality fast food experience than those huge national chains, I'd pick Big Greek more of the time.

I got the gyro salad and they were kind enough to swap fries for a small pita, extra greens and tomatoes, with an olive oil and vinegar dressing. It was fantastic. The only downside, which I think was a little unreasonable, is that a mandatory gratuity of 20% is charged on all parties of three or more. So mom, dad, two kids is 20% mandatory; four colleagues. That's excessive for me. I understand the industry norm of 10 or more, even 8 or more, but.. THREE?? For that I wouldn't come back with my family but I would with a friend. That aside and limiting my review to what I experienced, the interior if nice and comfortable, booths are in good shape, there's a nice Christmas tree for the holidays, and the menu is plentiful. I read that the crab soup is very good so I asked if I could substitute that for the fries. (The regular price of the cup of crab soup is $5). The server said there would be a "small upcharge" for soup instead of fries and I said that was fine with me. Well, when my check came I was a little shocked that the "small upcharge" was actually $4, so not quite a small upcharge in my opinon? Had I known I would have just taken the fries to go. $21 plus tip for lunch is pretty pricey. Don't know if I'll be back again.
