I'm a sucker for the shower steamers. The dip bars are great for shampoo or conditioning needs. The laundry pods and fabric pods are my go to items as well. The David's toothpaste is a new fave and I've gained much insight on toxic and non toxic chemicals found in regular items. The business moved 5 stores over, closer to the restaurant in the same shopping center. The new store is a lot bigger and had recently opened. I bought the most beautiful philodendron birkin I've ever seen. It's been a couple of weeks and I've had no issues with the plant. The new store has an impressive amount of BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINER products such as dish soap, body wash, shampoo, lotion. Essentially there are two businesses under the same roof so u will pay twice: for the plants/accessories and the BYOC products. I love the concept to decrease waste in our oceans. Also the products are reasonably priced and there are many options. If we all replaced one product and reduced single use plastic, we'd have a happier planet. read more

This refill/plant store is amazing! When I originally went here about a year and a half ago I was using all toxic cleaning supplies however I had done a lot of research and was worried about my kids and my family breathing in the chemicals I was using. I honestly was scared to go to a refill store thinking it was going to be an arm and leg cost, and I was very surprised to be paying similar to what I was spending at target or Walmart on horrible products! The store owner Melissa helped me so much with switching over the products we needed to! I LOVE the cleaner soul products they carry and the dip shampoo and conditioner bars, and I love the granola mama skincare they carry! I felt that their indoor plant selection was a bit limited (they're still very new, so this might change in the future), but I was wow'd by their selection of unique accessories. This shop was stacked with pots, custom plant hangers, dried flowers, and tons of fun gadgets that will spice up your life as a plant parent. They even have an entire section dedicated to sustainable goods/low waste basics, including soaps, laundry detergent, and teas. I ended up purchasing a burnt orange macrame plant hanger, which is easily now a center piece in my apartment. I absolutely love this spot! Most of my plants I have at home I've gotten from here. The staff will answer any question I may have regarding plant care or even about the non toxic zero waste product they also have in the shop. You can bring plants in to get repotted and even ask for a specific plant you've been dying to have and Melissa will track it down for you. If you need plant care as well for your home or business Melissa can take on that task as well for you which is awesome for the one who love the look and feel of the plants but don't necessarily have the green thumb to do so. Stopped by and bought three plants for the kids (bonsai tree, African mask and maranta plant); spent close to $50 which is quite steep for three plants I thought but they're for the kids. The place is nicely stocked with different kinds of plants and yes I agree that it's a much needed store for HB. A month goes by and the bonsai tree and maranta plant are doing great but the African mask plant has seen better days. So we decided to bring it back and see what they can do for us. We took care of it per the instructions so we did all we could to keep it alive. The store keeper kinda laughed it off and said there's nothing we can do. I was hoping we can exchange it for a new plant or at least discount off of a new plant especially after we spent close to $50 there already. But she said no we would have to pay full price for a brand new plant. We said that's ok. It's a shame because we wanted to buy more plants at the same time. I hope others find it a better experience here. read more

Came in wanting to snag a plant for a friend & shelby was soooo sweet and informative. I am someone who doesn't know much about plants, but definitely want to learn more after multiple visits to this shop, she had all the patience in the world to help me find just what I wanted for my friend & explain so much to me. While visiting, I also stocked up on some sunscreen & have been loving it!!! I had a wonderful experience working with Melissa in plant interior design for my home. I first went to her shop and bought a couple of her plants and her team shared that they can help with design and then I realized that's exactly what I needed for some of the rooms in my home with lower light. I scheduled with Melissa and am so happy that I did! She arrived, looked at the plants that I already had, shared care tips, and then we discussed the look and feel for the rooms and balcony that I wanted styled. After a short turn around, she gave me a proposal and I eagerly said YES to her recommendations. When it was time for delivery, she came with all of the plants and they were BEAUTIFUL! So healthy! She helped with plant placement so that I could get a feel for where I wanted them, then checked in with me a couple days later to see how it felt living with them. I loved that she wanted to make sure that the plants fit, felt good in the home, and were thriving. For me, customer service and the ease of making a transaction is key and Melissa nailed it! She's extremely knowledgeable, kind, and has an overall great vibe. As I continue to fill my home with plants, this beautiful shop will be my go to spot! I don't have enough positive things to say about not only this store, but the owner Melissa. My husband and I were about to bring home our newborn from the nicu and wanted to bring in some plants to his nursery to give it good energy. This store is awesome. It's exactly what is needed for Huntington Beach. I went in to start converting over to refill items to upgrade the look of my place. They have soaps, shampoos, conditioners, laundry detergents, dish soaps, razors, lotions, multipurpose cleaners, window washing fluids, tea, etc. No more plastic container products filled with unpronounceable chemicals for me if I can help it. The owner of BYO, Julie, has something good happening here and I hope the community starts finding it. Then you have the houseplants. All of them look amazing. I had no intention of purchasing any when I walked in as I like to grow flowers and fruit, but I now have three amazing looking indoor plants to start off my collection. This place is awesome. The plant portion is great and the ladies always answer all my care questions whether in person or on Instagram. They are fairy plant god mothers and I am so thankful for them. On top of that- I have been waiting for a BYO store to make its way down here. I've gotten cleaning supplies and reusable bottles from here and the prices seemed comparable to getting the cleaning supplies in stores. I did however, see an up charge when it comes to body soap- my container which I brought from home was filled 3/4 of the way up and was about 5-7$ more than if I were to go and purchase a whole new and completely full Dr. Bronners in store. This has been the only let down of my shopping experience with Plants By Yours Truly and BYO. Overall a great shopping experience- I will just have to be more mindful of how much I'm spending when refilling in terms of price point comparison. read more
