If I could give these guys a 6 star I would. I needed an oven range and vent hood installed. The first quote I got was 350 for each. Open handy Pro quoted me 450 flat and we scheduled an appt. They arrived on time and had the vent hood installed quickly. We had bought the oven on FB and weren't able to test it before we brought it home. It was very heavy and the guys got it in the house efficiently. It wasn't easy. How they did it with 2 is impressive, but they are strong and you can tell they're used to working hard. They hooked it up and tested it. The burners worked but the oven didn't. I saw the blood drain out of my wife's face. Thanksgiving 3 days away and a giant turkey in the fridge. Here's the six star. At that point they had done what I paid them for. I think ANYONE else would have said sorry, you need a repair guy and been gone. They started working on it, trouble shooting it, looking on their phone for resources, even made a call to someone, and got it working. It took at LEAST an hour and they never once stopped to re-negotiate a price. They were INTENT on making it work. I could tell they take great pride in their work. I asked for help to put up crown molding in which case openhanded accepted Monday. Out of nowhere on Wednesday I received this text which was odd. (see below) I guess waiting 30 minutes would have been an issue? Hours later I was asked this question which was even more bizarre as nobody with installation experience would ask that question. (see below) I responded and thereafter confirmed Friday install against my better judgement. This is the text I received this morning. No apology. I had a series of events that had to occur after installation with other contractors that I have now cancelled. This company is unprofessional and has less than par service. Nobody has ever cancelled on me the day of. If you chose to do business with this company watch out as they will flake on you last minute and not even apologize for it. I will never do any business with them again. Sadly companies like this have no idea what word of mouth can do because I would have had a lot more business for them had they actually showed up and completed good work OR at least apologized for the last minute cancellation. Edit after response: As everyone can see from the texts above, in black and white, what I stated is 100% true. 1). You tried to come by Wednesday with no notice and when I agreed you changed your mind over a 30 minute delta. 2) you asked if the crown molding needs to be curved? I knew right then and there you didn't know what was entailed/the basics of crown molding installation and unfortunately went against my better judgement. 3). I'll leave it up to everyone to see what they think of the cancellation text 30 minutes before you were supposed to show up. Zero apology. And I'll have to reschedule based on what works for "both" of us? After cancelling on me twice ? It took you all day to come up with the car excuse. So if you need to spin it all as untrue to discredit the review , good luck. Lastly Your lucky I don't post a picture of the calls placed to my cell because it would further discredit you and I am not going to go round and round. The black and white texts speak for themselves. Please learn from this and do better. Update #2: I have been using yelp since 2014 and literally been serviced by hundreds if not over a thousand businesses myself AND am a small business owner. I have left maybe 14 negative reviews in a decade?! I urge everyone to see the red flags here. He simply could have apologized and let it all go but he continues to post. I didn't want to post the super concerning amount of times he called me (in an effort to remove the negative review, which should make everyone question his 5 star reviews but it is attached below and in one example he called me 5 times within less than an hour, in some cases within a few minutes of time). Please see a phone log below. When I blocked him, he used a different number! All to ensure his customers only see his version of reviews. I have NEVER been treated by anybody like this and as a small business owner myself who values integrity, character, etc, I decided to leave the negative review. Consumers deserve better. Regardless of any of this back and forth the facts are in text. 1) tried to show up unannounced and when I said yes, cancelled 2) doesnt understand the basics of crown molding but took the job 3) cancelled again less than 30 minutes before the appointment 4) said "something came up", not my car broke down and when I refused to remove the review, said his car broke down, 8 hours later. This entire back and forth is not normal. This will be the last post I make and if I continue to be hounded/haarassed to remove my review I have to report this business to the state board that is here to protect consumers.
