She also made sure to describe my eye health to me and how to keep its health up. She also told me at what age my eyes might start having trouble.

On two consecutive days, I had interactions with the same staff member, Susanna, and both experiences left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. The first time, I called with a simple question about the insurance authorization process for an upcoming procedure because I genuinely didn't know how it worked. Instead of politely explaining the process, I was spoken to in a rude, impatient tone that made me feel as though I shouldn't have asked the question. The following day, I called to ask if my appointment could be moved from 9:40 AM to an earlier 8:30 AM slot because I was concerned about Friday morning traffic. I was immediately told there was no availability. I could totally tell that she wasn't checking. So I called the Arcadia call center just a few minutes later, they found the 8:30 AM appointment without any problem and changed it for me. When I called the Downey office back Susanna to ask about the discrepancy, I received different explanations, "Maybe someone just canceled it" and instead of a sincere apology, I was told, "My bad." Everyone can make mistakes. That wasn't what upset me the most. It was the repeated dismissive attitude, lack of professionalism, and feeling that my concerns as a patient were not taken seriously. I hope management addresses this because the doctors provide excellent care, and patients deserve to be treated with the same level of courtesy and respect by the front office staff

I am an…read moreAirline Pilot with over 37 years of airline experience and require an eye test due to occasional elevated eye pressure, termed "Pre-Glaucoma". The FAA requires pilots have a physical exam at prescribed intervals based on the type of pilot certification held. Because I am a Captain for a major airline, it has to be every six months. Once a year I have to provide test results based on the prescribed elements of my medical certification. Every year, Dr. Murthy puts me at ease with his wonderful bedside manner and his own personal knowledge of the system since he is an advanced pilot himself with actual jet experience. Thanks to his very thorough care and excellent staff, I have satisfied the FAA with flying colors on my tests. I take one eye drop at night based on his orders and it is doing the trick! My pressures are well within the FAA's guidelines along with my field of vision tests. I was so impressed with his care that I sent my wife to him and he put her at ease regarding her concerns about her vision after a thorough exam. Salute to Dr. Murthy and a Bravo Zulu as well@!

Dr. Murthy discovered something that two other retina specialists had not mentioned to me. I understand why one of them might not have, as he performed my vitrectomy pars plana surgery. I was unaware that a layer had been left behind during the surgery. Recently, I noticed a very unusual brownish floater. Fortunately, whatever was obstructing my vision disappeared the following day. Given that my surgeon did not remove that particular layer, there is a possibility of a detachment. I am now contemplating whether this was intentionally overlooked, potentially necessitating another surgical procedure. I am very grateful that Dr. Murthy came highly recommended by my husband's best friend.

Dr. Montoya and Dr. Guillermo took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel truly cared for. The office was clean and organized, it can get crowded but the whole process was smooth with several admin professionals assisting. This was confusing because I have read comments, including one from Dr. Montoya, stating that patients are allowed to have at least one person accompany them and the last time I came I was able to be with my mom. In addition, the way the front office staff spoke to us felt rude and unprofessional, which unfortunately took away from the positive experience we had with Dr. Montoya. Because of this, I would not recommend this office to others and we will not be returning again.

I've had about 10 visits from 11-01-2018 until now 02-14-2019. On 1-08-2019 Vitrectomy surgery was performed to save my right eye. Dr Khanna performed a perfect surgery and saved my right eye. Two weeks later I was experiencing extreme eye pressure and was in a state of tears from the constant eye stabbing pain. I was able to get a hold of Dr Khanna on a Saturday. I talked to him on the phone and he was able to diagnose the issue. He called my pharmacy and prescribed me eye drops that helped. He saw me two days later on a Monday. He determined I needed to be seen by his colleague Dr Unzueta to get my eye pressure down. Dr Unzueta diagnosed me and determined I needed a Ahmed Valve surgery ASAP. With in 2 days Dr Unzueta performed the surgery perfectly. The pain is now gone and my eye which was in the high 50s in now normal range of 10-13. Together these two specialists along with their staffs saved my right eye. Barbara and Alex are both great staff members. The red hair girl is very nice also and fun to talk to. Fairly stress free treatment…read more My optometrist referred me to see Dr Jiang due to a horseshoe tear on my retina. After examination, Dr Jiang confirmed the presence of the tear and recommended laser treatment to prevent potential detachment in the future. He informed me treatment can be done right away and asked me to sign the consent form. A couple numbing drops later and he began to laser the torn spot. After about 5 minutes, the treatment was done and it was practically painless. The only sensation I felt was slight pressure on the eyeball from time to time. Overall, this was a lot less stressful than I imagined. Highly recommend Dr Jiang!
