OPT is my favorite store in San Francisco. Dr. Tawil is intelligent and a great communicator. The eyewear they sell are always of the highest quality and are the FASHION moment. All profits are small batch. Todd and his team are patient and always help me find the perfect pair.

A nice picture frame in the hallway that I really love.

It was bittersweet having to say goodbye to this place, my doctor & the staff. I have already given this place 5 stars and my review remains positive and if I could give them a solid 10, I certainly would! So after letting them know I was moving away, they were able to put together my prescription promptly so I have it on hand and ready to share it with my new optometrist. I was also running low on contacts and they were able to ship them them out to me quickly and even with the prescription changed and I had to send back, the staff still managed to help me out quickly! Even though I had to go through different staff members throughout the 4 years, I had come to see Dr. Tawil and the other optometrist (most recent), I would still feel taken care of. I highly recommend this place and couldn't thank everyone enough!

I've been going here for about 10 years AND I'll NEVER go anywhere else. As a matter of fact, I lived in LA and Connecticut and still kept coming back! Todd and the crew do a phenomenal job of supporting customers and the frame selection is bar none!! Dr Tawil is so attentive and professional, I just can't say enough. If you're looking for artsy, designer, or funky frames along with a spectacular optometrist look no further!!

I've been going here a few years but today that comes to an end! I asked for this office to switch the recommended contact lens brand for me (an option between biofinity and ultra) which they have offered to me EVERY SINGLE TIME I have gone before. This suggests that they are truly interchangeable brands for me. I asked to switch my prescription and they refused, stating I would have to come in for an appointment because it's a different 'medical device' AND that my prescription was expired. My prescription wasn't (and still isn't) expired and I have a receipt to prove it. Phil Tawil lied about my prescription being expired to force me to come back for another visit. My partner uses the lenses I prefer so I knew they would work better for me, but this office not only refused to update the prescription and lie about the expiration date, they were rude via email AND YELLED at my husband just now over the phone! I have never encountered such shockingly bad customer service in my life. They said we should take our business elsewhere so that's exactly what we're doing and I suggest you do the same. Oh, and the $600 pair of Allied Metalworks X Barton Perreira glasses I bought from them are super cute but the paint immediately started peeling when I got them. I was able to return one pair and get a replacement, but the exact same thing happened to the second pair! I'll say their frames selection is great, but I cannot stand by the quality, unfortunately. And I certainly can't stand being lied to and yelled at by the folks over there. You deserve better - take your business elsewhere to someone who will appreciate it.

Dr. Tawil and his staff are very customer service oriented and helped me pick some pretty kick-butt frames. Will definitely come back.

We were able to find a nice pair here (costly but that was ok), and got an updated eye test/prescription. Unfortunately, after a couple of days they were causing headaches and eye pain. He decided to continue to wear them since they were knee and maybe needed to get used to it. Still nothing. Called the store, and got seen. The primary doctor there made some adjustments, and took them back. Same thing, they resulted in pain/headaches. The dr felt careless and not very understanding, let alone interested in getting this right. Not returning given the lack of care and professionalism around this. We thought we'd find our new neighborhood eye glass shop too, but that was a fail.

Other than that, my new glasses with a frame by Masunaga are great!

Instead, they told me immediately and ordered the correct replacements. The quality was clearly much better than the cheap online glasses I had started with, and once I realized the original lenses weren't right for me, I found another pair of the same frames and they swapped in the correct lenses without any hassle. The staff was knowledgeable, quick, friendly, professional, and open late, with great prices and high-quality lenses. If you have smart glasses and aren't sure how to get lenses for them, I'd definitely recommend checking them out.

The doctor was professional, knowledgeable, and made a great impression. However, the optometry office itself seemed somewhat disorganized and cluttered. Most of the staff were friendly, helpful, and patient, but one staff member was noticeably unfriendly and very strict about requiring people to join the waitlist before being helped. He is a white, red haired with glasses, plaid shirt. Very rude to me. What was particularly frustrating is that the waitlist process relies on a QR code with instructions in English. I often see older customers who may not be comfortable using smartphones, and others whose first language is not English. After many years of coming to this location, this was the first time anyone had told me I needed to sign up on a waitlist. I made a mistake. Sue me. Overall, the quality of care from the doctor was excellent, but the office could improve its organization and make the check-in and waitlist process more accessible and customer-friendly.
