I took in my Chanel glasses from 2010 to have the lenses replaced as I loved those frames. Unfortunately, because of their age, they cracked when the lab was placing the new lenses. I was allowed to choose whatever pair from the store I wanted at no matter the price and at no cost to me. I was shocked I didn't have to buy the frames myself. What a very nice and unexpected surprise! I picked out a lovely pair and picked them up approximately two weeks later. They weren't very comfortable once I got home and kept fogging up in my home with no temp chance to cause this. I took them back thinking I would exchange them for another pair, but I loved them so much and really wanted to keep them that I just had them adjust them and kept my fingers crossed hoping that would do the trick. Unfortunately, it did not. I went back again to exchange them for another pair and they were still just so kind. I felt like such a nuisance, but they never once gave me reason to feel that way. The manager, Sonia, is amazing, as his the sales associate, Wallesca, and one other girl who is a sales associate and I can't remember her for the life of me. Basically, all the employees there go way above and beyond and they do it all while smiling and with kind words! So I picked out another pair of glasses. I decided to upgrade the lenses to progressive and also upgrade them to transition lenses and I just paid the difference for the upgraded lenses out of pocket, but the manager Sonia still went above and beyond to check with my insurance and make sure I got all of my maximum benefits. When all was said and done, she managed to get me the upgraded lenses for $50 less than what she had originally quoted me... again, because she took the time to go back and check everything with the insurance (you don't get better customer service than that!). That was just one week ago, so I still have to go pick the glasses up next week. But I absolutely love this store because the employees truly make it a great and easy experience! They do get busy, so please remember to just have patience because they give all their customers such great service and sometimes great service takes a few minutes longer. :)

The staff was all very nice and welcoming of my two kids, who I had to bring along to the exam. After the eye exam, we were quickly greeted by someone who helped us pick out glasses for my daughter. I wasn't too happy with the price of the frames -- they were a bit high -- and adding the necessary lens features would make the overall cost even higher. I do wish there were more lower-priced frame options available. Overall, it was a great visit to Optical Island. We'll be back for future exams and hope to see a wider range of pricing for frames.

I purchased 3 pair of glasses (progressives, reading/laptop, and sunglasses) despite the fact that they did not accept my insurance. Store is bright and colorful right on Park Ave downtown Winter Park. And my glasses will be delivered to my home, so no need to go back in unless they require adjustment (although that would have been a nice excuse to have another Winter Park lunch somewhere).

As I was highly expressed with my personal experience, getting my vision test, I have to update…read morebased on my husband's experience, getting his vision test and his prescription filled. All started out fine. My husband had did have some difficulties with the virtual eye testing because they only offered a Spanish interpreter with him being a Portuguese speaking customer, he struggled through it and was able to get the proper prescription. So the issue really started when they told us that we can get our Ray-Ban Meta lenses. We just have to send it out which we were finding. The young lady told us it will usually take around five days so we felt comfortable and agreed. Long story short. We did our appointment on the 14th and we didn't pick our prescription up until the fourth of the following month which was the very first day they told us it was available for pick up. The automatic order entry line gave a date of 29th for pick up and it wasn't ready at that time when we called the kind of asked for an update because we were concerned that due to my husband's prescription type there would be an issue with filling the prescription on our own provided frames. Nobody knew anything about the status of the shipment. They kept telling us to give it another week. I finally called and had to get an attitude for somebody to give me some type of answer, and after that call the end of that week we received our glasses. My main concern is that all the times I contacted the facility. Nobody was able to give me a consistent answer. Everything was all over the place. Every person had a different perspective of when the prescription would be filled in a different reason why it was taking so long no one was on the same page so it did not make for a good customer experience keeping that in mind that we had a $300 pair of glasses that we sent in to be fitted for the lenses.
