Whoever was working the guns with the dark hair and the trimmed dark beard working mainly the left side was a jerk. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there nor cared about anything. I asked him about the gen 5 glocks and he cut me off to say all glocks are illegal to sell in CA. Not what I was asking about and also false. I then was trying to inquire about a Ruger mark 4 and he was rude about how they have them but won't sell them but can order them. I still don't understand what he meant other than out of stock maybe? Anyway. Another customer came up behind me and asked this man a question and he scolded the customer and said he was with me, he was not and dragged me into it for some reason. He eventually got rid of the prospect and I proceeded to tell him I didn't want or need his help and to help the man he ignored. Instead he called up the next person in queue. Ironically enough, an employee was going off on a phone or radio about giving the best customer satisfaction possible lol. I almost said something to him but he was so hyped and happy, unlike mr grumps at the gun counter. Aside from that and what drove me away from purchasing a new firearm that day, the guys working Ammo and the fishing department were amazing. They really showed their knowledge and were a pleasure to work with. I will be back because of them, but maybe sticking to rifle supply for gun purchases.

Also had an employee in fishing department be real weird/off putting. A line was strung across an aisle by a kid and he seemed unaware of that when charging through and then stunned we were trying to help him. Vibe is not as warm/positive as other Bass Pro locations.

I got home that day realizing the fit was too narrow/tight for my high arched feet and made the decision to rerun the shoes. I went into road runner the next day, Wednesday, to return the shoes. (mind you I did not buy the membership because it was $19.99(?) plus $49.99 annually on top of the already $160 shoes.) This is when I was told by a manager named Alexis, that I had worn the shoes - when I in fact had NOT worn the shoes besides trying them on in store- and he wasn't going to give me my money back. I told him that he was wrong and needed to give me my money back. He gave me my money back very reluctantly ensuring me he didn't believe me. He told me he remembered me "not buying the membership" and that he remembered the shoes being clean and unworn on Tuesday. I left the store in tears over the interaction. Later, once I had calmed down, I realized I had taken photos of the shoes in store on Tuesday prior to buying them. It came to my realization that Gary and Alexis had sold me the floor sample shoe without telling me and then proceeded to blame me for the shoes being worn. After being treated so poorly, I will never be going back to road runner.

Brought 66 small items to be embroidered on a Monday, was told by the owner, Kim, that she could have half done by Thursday, and likely all of it done by Saturday. On Friday I hadn't heard anything so I called for an update, was told they should all be done over the weekend, and I expected to pick up on Monday. Monday, I call and leave a message, no response, Tuesday I call and leave a message, no response, Wednesday I go to the store, doors locked, called again and left a VM, again no answer.. on Thursday, I go to the store again, a nice gentleman tells me she is out of town and knows nothing about my order. He looked around to see if he could find the items, supposedly he could not until I stated that if he could find them, despite the state of progress, I would take them. Voilà, he found them, in the same box I delivered them in and of course not one item had been embroidered. Needless to say, I am completely dissatisfied, not only because these items are for a local school who are in the middle of their softball season, but because now I have lost two weeks trusting someone who spoke so passionately about their love of softball and the need for a business like hers. Note to owner, since she won't return phone calls, don't take on a job you can't deliver on, don't give unrealistic timelines, and most importantly, don't ghost your patrons when they are looking for answers. So sorry this did not work out, I really wanted to like and support this small business..

So, I went digging in our…read moregarage and found my old baseball glove and my dad's old glove (we have like four gloves). My dad played baseball in High school and throughout his twenties, I only played in little league. It's not like we were/ are pros or anything. Anyways, these two gloves are older. After a couple of weeks of playing catch with my son and wife our gloves started to come apart. So, I googled see how much a new glove is. Come to find out an adult glove similar to what I am using, is expensive, or at least more than I'm willing to pay for catch... So, I decided to re-lace my gloves and get them reconditioned. After another quick search on google I found "The Softball Group", just down the street and open for appointment only. I spoke to the owner Kim and she is great! She is very knowledgeable and was excited to see my old gloves in such good condition. There was some leather damage in my dad's glove and she told me they should be able to repair it but it would take a little more time. I was ok with that and told her no rush. A few days later she gave me a call and told me they were ready to be picked up. I got to her shop and I was amazed on how good they looked. Both gloves were re-laced, a new piece of leather replaced the ripped piece so that the glove could be adjusted for size and the leather was treated. She also told me she did some research and that my dad's glove, was originally sold back in 1960/1961 and he bought my glove in the early 80s. Which makes them respectively 60 and 34 years old. Wow! I ended up playing catch with my wife that night and my Dad's second glove that she uses started to come apart... Oh my god!!! The next day I called Kim up and arranged a time to drop off that glove. It was ready the next day! She also did some research on that glove and it was originally from 1970, so it's about 50 years old, she also told me how to care for them to ensure their longevity. Kim's very responsive to both emails and phone calls. Her team does a great job and has a high level of attention to detail! She is a true enthusiast, extremely knowledge, easy to talk to and spends time with her customers to ensure they get what they need. She really went above and beyond! I'm sure we will be back as soon as my wife digs out her dad's gloves... I highly recommend The Softball Group to anyone in need of softball/baseball products, services or advise!
