Up until this point, REI in Tustin was the closest location to our home. When they demolished Marshall's and stated that REI would be opening up in its place, I was surprised. It seemed like such a small location for a business that's usually quite large in size. Nevertheless, once construction began, we became excited to have an REI so close to home. REI is located in the city of Laguna Hills, just off of the 5 freeway. You can exit El Toro or Lake Forest and work your way down the windy street that runs parallel to the freeway. There is enough parking to accommodate customers who frequent the local businesses on the property. The exterior is similar to other REI locations with two axes serving as door handles on the front door. It seems like every REI has a similar layout, so if you're familiar with these stores, you'll know how to maneuver through with ease. REI is known for being pricey, but it's been my go to place for so many years. They have plenty of outdoor gear and supplies for novice to professional outdoorsmen. There's also a small section for pet gear so that you can take your four-legged friend along for the journey. The sales section is where you'll usually find the deepest discounts, so make sure that you check those racks because you could save a significant amount of money in the end. Speaking of saving money!!!! They have a rack near the door with slightly used items. They have been returned by customers and have been used one or two times. These items are discounted and you can find some good bargains. The only caveat to this is that you must be a member to purchase any of these items. You pay a one time fee and then you'll enjoy the perks that REI has to offer. Also, they have their annual sale which is referred to as a "garage sale". That is when you'll find the deepest discounts. This is when the lines are the longest! Be prepared to wait in line for a while!!!! It's easier to just to make your purchases online and have them delivered to your doorstep. One thing that I love about this store is their incredible return policy. If you've had the item for a while and it falls apart, they'll take it back. You'll be able to exchange it for something else or you'll be given store credit. It's insane! One time, my snow boots fell apart and I brought them back a couple of years later. They actually gave me store credit for them since they were gently worn. It was easy for me because I'm a member and they could see the purchase history. This is one reason why I recommend becoming a member. The perks are amazing! Members can also look forward to that annual dividend check if you spend some serious money during the previous year! As you purchase full price items, they tally up your total for the year. They send you a check for 10% of your annual spending and you can apply that toward the purchase of any items within the store. REI is the perfect store to find gear for your outdoor adventures. It can be overwhelming at times, but it's worth your while to check it out. You never know what you'll find when you're in the store.

South county's best kept secret. What a treat to finally have an REI within a 5 minute drive from home. Adding this now to my list of post work strolls especially since it shares the same center as Trader Joes. Had the pleasure of joining the opening weekend festivities and it was a lot of fun. Tons of swag freebies from many vendors. Great selection of gear - camping, biking, hiking, climbing... you name it. Love the open space lay out. Not as much shoe selection & variety yet as the Tustin store but it is enough. Haven't seen the winter sports section just yet, but hoping they'll have it for this season. Lifetime membership for $30 ($20 many many years ago when I got it). Gives you 20% off full price items a few times a year. Makes for easy returns if products don't work out within the year of purchase. I love that they have exclusive REI Laguna Hills merch (really nice stickers & a tote bag) for purchase, of course. Welcome to the neighborhood REI. Happy to have you here.

I got home that day realizing the fit was too narrow/tight for my high arched feet and made the decision to rerun the shoes. I went into road runner the next day, Wednesday, to return the shoes. (mind you I did not buy the membership because it was $19.99(?) plus $49.99 annually on top of the already $160 shoes.) This is when I was told by a manager named Alexis, that I had worn the shoes - when I in fact had NOT worn the shoes besides trying them on in store- and he wasn't going to give me my money back. I told him that he was wrong and needed to give me my money back. He gave me my money back very reluctantly ensuring me he didn't believe me. He told me he remembered me "not buying the membership" and that he remembered the shoes being clean and unworn on Tuesday. I left the store in tears over the interaction. Later, once I had calmed down, I realized I had taken photos of the shoes in store on Tuesday prior to buying them. It came to my realization that Gary and Alexis had sold me the floor sample shoe without telling me and then proceeded to blame me for the shoes being worn. After being treated so poorly, I will never be going back to road runner.

My cousin purchased a phone case, and as we were walking out after paying, we noticed some squishies near the exit. We briefly squeezed them and continued walking out. The manager immediately looked at our hands as if she suspected we were stealing, despite the fact that she was standing right in front of us and had watched us pay for our purchase. It was extremely uncomfortable and made us feel like we were being treated as criminals for absolutely no reason. Then, once we got into the car, my cousin realized that she had accidentally purchased the wrong size phone case. Since it was only around 9:20 PM, she wanted to quickly go back inside to exchange it. Instead of simply helping her with the exchange, the manager immediately started yelling at my aunt and cousin, insisting that they were closed, even though the posted closing time was 9:30 PM. This caused my aunt to become upset and yell back. What made the situation even worse was the manager's attitude throughout the entire interaction. She had the nerve to yell at my aunt and then, when my aunt told her that she was going to leave a bad review because of her behavior, the manager essentially laughed about it with her employee. She was clearly not embarrassed or concerned about how she had treated us. If anything, she seemed to be mocking the fact that a customer was upset enough to complain. The employee working there clearly seemed uncomfortable and embarrassed by the situation and appeared to feel bad about the way his manager was treating us. He was put in an extremely awkward position because of her behavior. I completely understand that employees want to leave on time and that closing procedures take time. However, there is absolutely no reason to yell at customers, treat them like they are stealing, or mock them for expressing that they are unhappy with the service they received. The entire interaction was extremely unprofessional and unnecessary. I have never experienced customer service this rude at this location, and based on the manager's reaction to being told that a bad review would be left, it seems like she genuinely does not care how she treats customers. I hope management above her takes this complaint seriously and addresses her behavior because clearly she's a huge PROBLEM!

Pretty terrible experience. I tried to set up an order I was…read morehoping to pick up 5 days later. This was already considered a rush order that came with additional fees. After spending almost an hour setting up an order on their website (with an AI assistant constantly trying to push stuff on you), there was no confirmation email. I called the next day to see if the order got through. A sleepy gentlemen answered the phone and mumbled apathetically that he'd check and get back to me. He never did. I left a message the next day, asking for a call back to find out if my order had come through. I got a text on my phone the next day, reading: "Thank you for reaching out to The Best Screen Printing company. Please send us your design, when you need it by, size breakdown and quantity for your order at sales@tbsp.la to get a free quick quote.". So we were back to square one, with 3 days just out the window. I emailed them and explained that I had submitted an order through their website days earlier. They emailed back and said they wouldn't honor that order. They told me if I wanted to pick up any t-shirt by Monday, they'd use a lower-quality (!) t-shirt and charge an additional $20 above the additional rush order fees they had already added. I never write reviews, but here I felt compelled to.

The most horrible screen printing company I have ever done business with in my entire life. Instead…read moreof addressing the issues and how they damage hundreds of dollars worth of my hoodies with their careless employees, they ask yelp to remove my review. So here it goes again, even better this time. I have been dealing with this company for over 4 years. They were pompous and arrogant the entire time I worked with them. They have no regard for their customers and they're only looking to make money. They have blatantly printed my stuff wrong multiple times, but I have worked with them and been patient with their printer for the sake of my business. I had an order of hoodies printed for some big celebrity clients, and they were the same hoodies I've been printing with them since 2020. I had other hoodies in the order, but this one in particular was the one that got damaged. In this industry men don't respect women at all, and they expect us to just do whatever they say and take whatever they give. The damage hoodies, I'm referring to were printed as a set of five. The print was blatantly wrong and crooked, completely not centered, and he was so rude about it. The ONLY printer in their company that knows how to print is so careless with everyone's order that you literally have to just hope and pray your order is done right. The owners of this company do not care about anything but money and they especially don't care about the employees. That's not an excuse to treat people poorly and take peoples hard earned money. The customer service is horrible, the attention of detail is horrible, these people are just money hungry, arrogant business owners. The people that run this company have no idea how to print anything and all they look for is mass orders of basic printing, so that they can get their money out of people and go onto the next client. They have no structure in their business and they are extremely rude to women. If you are a woman and you go in there, they expect you to be brainless, even when they're wrong about how to run their own machines. This experience with them over the past couple years has been a nightmare ever since they fired the actual people who actually cared about their customers and took the time to make sure the work was done correctly. In the middle of the pandemic, they fired so many hard workers and it was really sad. I am permanently disabled, and the discrimination that I have dealt with in this office has been nothing less than stressful while trying to recover from surgery and run my business. They don't even have an office anymore that clients can come in. I spoke to the sales person and he said that he was at home and that he couldn't tell me who the boss was-- which is a lie. When you go to drop off your orders the shop is dirty, there's paint everywhere, there's no organization. The work environment has not been good for a long time, but due to business needs, I made sacrifices and did whatever I could. I've referred this company to so many people and I regret doing so because they are horrible people.
