Couldn't possibly be more pleased with the care I receive at Avance Care. Reviews like this are…read morecertainly subjective, and it can be tough to distinguish between good positive and good negative reviews. I can't really help there, but for what it's worth, this is another overwhelmingly positive review for Dr. Houng and his entire staff. I moved down here in 2008 and had trouble finding a primary care physician. Too many of the practices affiliated with the major hospital systems are like assembly lines, and pack way too many patients into their practice. Because of that, it's hard to get an appointment, and tough to nail down communication with your provider when all you have is a simple question. I started going to Avance Care maybe 2 years ago and have been grateful ever since. Dr. Houng is truly one of the best, and I can't recommend him highly enough. All of the nurses and lab techs are outstanding, and have always been welcoming and accommodating. Being able to book your appointments online, message back and forth with the doctor, and not have to worry about getting lost in the shuffle is HUGE when it comes to a PCP. After my experiences at Avance Care, I just can't see a situation where I go back to a hospital-affiliated PCP practice. The process and the people at Avance Care are just way too good. You'll love it, believe me.

I had an amazing outcome here last week!…read more After 30+ yrs of medication resistant depression, I left my last treatment smiling, laughing, and ready to embrace the world. Two hours before, I was on the verge of tears and was contemplating hospitalization. Calling this treatment life-saving / life-changing is NOT hyperbole. For me, it's absolutely true. I am a licensed medical professional and researcher. The research I uncovered confirmed for me that ketamine delivered by IV is so much more effective because of the 100% bio-availability; data on the nasal delivery of esketamine shows bio-availability between 5% - 45%. While I typically prefer a conservative approach to healthcare, I was in a state of despair and needed assistance. So, I asked a fellow clinician to check out this location on my behalf. We both were satisfied with what we found. Specifically, the staff here are all Certified Nurse Anesthetists. This means they administer ketamine as part of their daily practice, ketamine is a well known medication for them to administer and to regulate, and they are skilled in its management. Some locations that administer ketamine do not have these professionals on site and would have to call 911 if something untoward occurred. Finally, I believe the previous poster is unfamiliar with the healthcare paradigm. Nurse Practioners and Physician Assistants require a supervising physician but are autonomous healthcare providers otherwise. This company rents space in Select Family Practice and they have a supervising physician - Russell Harrell, MD - and two PAs. Triangle Ketamine Specialists is licensed by the state and has no need for a dedicated physician for their practice to operate. I recommend this practice without reservation and have recommended it to both friends and patients. I have not felt this happy, energetic, and resilient in more than a decade.

Shady. This business took over for Dr. Sadat's family practice and urgent care. There is no…read morephysician on site, or even listed on the website. I asked about treatments and they gave me information about financing. What? They wouldn't share the name of the doctor or even the names of medical providers. Weird and shady. Why would doctors office not include the name of the doctor on the door of the office, on their informational material in the office, on the website, or even in person when I asked. I did not receive treatment from this factory / facility.

The doctor and I use that term loosely, sees you for 7 minutes exactly. I am so pleased with the care that Dr. Nasir provides at Avance Care on Strickland Rd. in Raleigh…read more She is very knowledgeable and professional, and perhaps just as important, listens carefully to what you have to say. For the past few weeks I had been having severe nausea lasting several hours at a time as well as occasional sharp pains in my upper chest when I went to see her. She knew my neurologist has been treating me for migraines and also that I'm taking a generic over-the-counter pill that includes 250 mg. of aspirin which, if I'm having two headaches in one day, is 1000 mg. Although she is ordering an ultrasound to make sure it's not my gallbladder causing my health issues, she feels that the amount of aspirin I am taking (until the once-a-month shot my neurologist has just prescribed for me takes effect), is causing my extreme nausea and pain. She has prescribed Prilosec and as she said what she thought is causing my problem it immediately made sense to me. And her young assistant and office staff are just as attentive and helpful as Dr. Nasir.

My experience at FastMed Urgent Care Raleigh East Millbrook was horrific…read more Long Wait Time: I waited for 90 minutes before being seen by a medical assistant. Lack of Care: I felt that the staff at FastMed did not prioritize my care and were more concerned with casual conversations. High Cost and Inappropriate Prescription: I was charged $50 for a PA visit and received a prescription for a brand-name medication that was not covered by insurance, costing $425. I looked up the prescription and it comes in generic. But the PA was not concerned about updating the medication to the generic. Patient's Condition: I was very sick with a fever and needed medication immediately. Pharmacy Contact: I even provided the PA with the contact information for their pharmacy (Walgreens, 6 Forks Rd., phone number 919-787-1155) and asked them to call directly. PA's Incompetence: The PA failed to read the patient's notes, causing a delay in treatment despite my urgent condition. Medical Experience: I had trouble getting critical medicine and reaching the "PA's" office. Appointment Policy: Most medical facilities have a policy where if someone is more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, they have to reschedule 24 hours in advance or pay a fee. The policy should go both ways. Recommended Doctor: I hugely recommend Capital Family Medicine and Dr. Short.
