Huuuuge Burrito Ranchero, steak. It was awesome. So awesome, I brought half home.

Based on their location in a strip mall, I didn't expect much. But I gave it a try yesterday and I loved it! Wow! [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you walk in there's plenty of tables to accommodate entire family outings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beyond that, is a separate, proper bar where excellent Mexican food and drinks are served up quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely be back.

By far the best Mexican restaurant anywhere. Huge portions of hot delicious authentic Mexican. Wait staff is very friendly and so attentive and knowledgeable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is spotless and bathrooms clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't go anywhere else for my Mex fix!

    Enchiladas Suizas & tiny margarita

Food has never wanted to leave my body so quickly & violently ever in my life. Mexican is my second favorite food, and I eat it all the time, but I won't be coming back here. Lots of people seem to love this place, but I'm absolutely defeated right now from the enchiladas suizas. The margarita tasted really good, but it was tiny. They snuck in a 4% surcharge for not paying cash. The service was good, but the food destroyed me like the Dumb & Dumber turbo-lax scene!

Food was ok except chimihanga and flatas needed to be crunching. Service outstanding..have dietary issues and host nailed order. Was very patient and kind regarding special order. The decor was cute as you will see from pictures. Will return

The space is very nicely designed and laid out. Plenty of room in a cozy environment. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, on top of being very effective. I was extremely pleased to find that they even had a few different vegetarian proteins for their various dishes. In terms of the food, I went with a burrito bowl with vegan chorizo. The presentation was fantastic: my photo doesn't do it justice. It was also enormous. Much more food than I could finish, but also delicious. There were so many layers of flavors and textures that really came together in a cohesive dish. The best part is that they offer three different house made salsas, which really leveled up the dish and the experience. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out. The very hip, somewhat low key vibe was comfortable while also feeling high end well designed.

We both ordered the chicken Tinga tacos with rice and beans and I thought they were phenomenal, they weren't my husband's favorite, but I would definitely order again. Sadly, it is over an hour and a half drive if we want to return. Alberto, the owner, was very welcoming, along with his servers and bartender. That day, they had a Mariachi band, which was really cool, and the music was great for the ambiance of the place. Alberto told us about his other restaurant, and I would love to go check it out one day as well. We observed him closely as he was speaking to all the patrons like family and was very good at answering any questions. There's a salsa bar that is included in case anyone wants to try their house-made salsas. They start you off with fresh chips and the dip they have. It is honestly the best we have had so far, and my husband loves Mexican cuisine a lot. It's a mix of refried beans with cheese sauce and red sauce. I ordered the Camarones Zarandeados-- Peel-and-eat shrimp, marinated in house seasoning, and garnished with fresh cilantro. Served with rice and corn. Along with a strawberry daiquiri. It was truly a dish I would want to return to eat. The seasoned shrimp were juicy, and I loved peeling them myself and getting messy with the juices. II usually dislike most rice made in restaurants, but this was definitely delicious, and I'd happily eat it again. My husband had a creamy burrito with steak , peppers onions , and olla beans topped with cheese sauce and served with rice , lettuce, and tomatoes on the side. His drink was a Corona margarita. It was a huge portion, and he was full after eating 3/4 of the burrito. It is interesting he said it was his favorite to date as well. We both tried the birria tacos , and OMG, they were so yummy!! The sauce made for them was perfect, and the meat was actually seasoned well. I've had other ones, and well, let's just say they weren't my favorite. We also tried the "paleta" shot. It tasted just like tamarind. That was definitthe order of ely great and refreshing even as a shot. We ended with the Sopapilla for dessert. It was truly a lovely evening with my husband after an almost 2-hour drive to Asheville, and I am eager to go back for the great food and ambiance. If you want great-quality food with a definitely great price tag, go visit La Cabana Mexican Grill.
