1st time here we loved it and decided to come back for mother's Day. When we arrived there was plenty of open tables inside but we were told that they were reserved. So they have us sit outside. Right after we were sitted. every party that came in, were asked were would they like to sit. All of them were sitted inside. This diner is hidden from the main street, and is tucked away in the middle of a mini strip mall. we got really lucky and found parking right in front, but i can see how it would be problematic if you go during the weekends... you may need to park on the street. We ended up getting an omelette, and two egg benedicts. Personally, i got the sausage eggs benedict with hashbrowns and it was really tasty. The other items were filling and great tasting as well. If you order an omelette, you also get a choice of carbs (toast, bagel, muffin, or pancakes.) They also have items for lunch such as sandwiches, salads and burgers. When we got there, it was fairly crowded. The seats inside were mainly taken, and there are a few seats outside as well. The people working there are friendly, but it seemed short staffed the day we went. read more

This is such a cute little cafe. It's definitely a little hidden, but it's a cool find. The parking lot is a bit small and it's shared with a 5-6 other stores. I got the carnitas omelette with fruit and home potatoes for my sides (14.99). The omelette was was interesting. Instead of having the omelette filling cooked in the egg it was just sandwiched in between the cooked egg. Nevertheless, it was still pretty good. It tasted a lot like home cooked eggs. The carnitas itself was pretty moist, but could use a little more flavor. I really liked the salsa verde they drizzled on top of the omelette though! The home potatoes were soft and yummy, but they felt a tad oily and needed a bit more seasoning as well. My bf and I have been coming to OBC a for few years now and have always had Nina as our server. She's always kind, warm and welcoming. Today we didn't get Nina and the food was off. The Irish potatoes were undercooked as was the pancake. The owner did accommodate our needs, but I will always ask for Nina from here on, she really adds to the whole experience. We are visiting from NorCal and have tried numerous breakfast places in the area: iHop, Huckleberry's, etc. None of them compare to the quality of the food and great, friendly service. Debbie is an awesome waitress who served us with friendly smiles and quick service. Best place in the area for breakfast by FAR! I went to check out Orange Cafe with a friend. Their food was quite tasty. I had the eggs, with home fries, and the pancake while my friend had the country fried steak. My favorite were the home fries, I recommend those instead of the hash browns. They come with sautéed onions and peppers. My friend said the country fried steak was good. The gravy is on the sweeter side and she prefers it to be more savory but she still enjoyed it. We also both had vanilla cappuccinos which were good as well. They do come with a lot of whipped cream, so if that's not your thing, ask them to skip it. I will say that the service wasn't great. I got their before my friend and no one greeted me, and it looked like it was a self-seating situation which is fine but I sat at a table that had been used. It still had the bill and tip on the table. I sat there for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged so I went up to the front and asked if I needed to order there or if someone would come and take my order. She mentioned the kitchen was backed up and she would have someone come clean the table. I understood completely as I know many small businesses are understaffed right now. She came and cleaned the table after I said something and I grabbed my own menus. However, my friend finally got there and we sat there for another 10 minutes without someone coming by. Two other parties sat themselves after we got there and they took their drink orders before us. So I went up to the front again, and I politely asked if someone could come take our order. I felt like she felt a little annoyed with me at this point but I had to speak up because other people were getting their orders in and we had been there for some time without someone at least taking our drink orders. She sent a man to take our order after that, and thereafter the service was pretty quick. Other than feeling a little uncomfortable with the service, the food was good and I'll likely give this place another try. read more

This place is tiny, and loud. We stopped in for a Sunday brunch before hopping into the car for the drive home. There were about three other parties ahead of us, which meant we had a 30 minute wait for a table. It wasn't terrible, and we made friends with a guy and his dog while we waited. I kind of feel like they were short-staffed the day we went. There was one waitress and one lady who seemed like the manager for the whole restaurant. I mentioned that the place is tiny, but they were still doing a booming business and every one of their dozen or so tables were filled. I want to give the waitress a pass because she was so busy, but she didn't seem to have a problem serving the tables around us at all. For my meal, I went with the Country Scramble (basically a deconstructed omelet with sausage, topped with sausage gravy), wheat toast and a side of hash browns. My husband opted for the Country Benedict, which came with eggs and a side; he chose the cottage cheese. The food was okay, but not worth the wait. The sausage gravy was a bit bland, and the eggs were overcooked to the point of rubbery-ness. The hash browns were some of the best I've had in a while...but if the one thing I'm praising is a side, something's wrong. My husband did love his Benny, but couldn't bring himself to eat the cottage cheese side. It was super watery (you can see that in the picture), and he said it had an off taste. But, he loved his main, and only complained about a side that they probably have in bulk. Opposite of my experience, but it counts. The coffee wasn't all that great, and we didn't get refills on our water or the coffee, but by the time we got around to really needing it, we were done. I doubt we'll be back. read more

This is a great place for breakfast, it doesn't dissapoint. I usually get something basic like the two eggs any style, but this time I got the gourmet omelette. It was pretty good! I am a sucker for avocado on omelettes. Their coffee is typical diner coffee, kind of week so that's the only thing I don't like. The service is always great and the wait staff is very friendly. They just added shade to their outdoor seating area by installing a divider between the tables and the parking lot, so now it's much more pleasant to sit outside. read more

This review is not based on the food but based on the change of management: My husband and I moved away from orange in 2020. We LOVED coming to orange cafe. They were the "mom and pop" breakfast place we would go to often. Food was delicious, environment was old school and traditional, and the staff was amazing (they knew ALL the regulars, young and old). We recently visited again this past week and it made me sad that they no longer are under the same management. Orange cafe didn't need to become "hip". It didn't need to start serving alcohol or change its Route 66 vive. It didn't need to be playing loud music in the morning. Shoot, the menu didn't need to change :( Upon arriving, we just noticed something was off. Sitting inside and looking around just made me think orange cafe doesn't know what it wants to be. The transition is like they wanted to add "young" on top of the old restaurant that it was. Anyways, sad to see it change. The food has changed. It didn't taste the same. The vibe is different. Don't think we'll come back. But I'm sure if you've never been here, eh, you might enjoy it. read more

I live patronizing these mom and pop businesses. Nothing special in terms of the decor but the license plates that circle the tops of the walls is interesting. It's small and cozy with what seems like the local neighborhood hang out for a good homemade breakfast. Not much to say about breakfast other than the cooks didn't screw it up. The service is good but not great, but I'm here for the food. The best part is that it's reasonably priced. A couple of dollars lower than most joints with the same portions, if not larger.
