One word... Amazing!!! First of all the chips and salsa are delicious!!!! The service is wonderful, they are so helpful and attentive. The giant burrito was amazing, the street tacos are delicious and the fajitas are our favorite! I give this a 10! It is a must try. We come at least 2 times a month!

Delicious. I had the cucumber-Lime water. Really refreshing. Chips and salsa, chips were fresh, the salsa was some of the best I have had in a long time. The mild was a little tomato-ee. The roasted salsa, great flavor with a touch of heat. I got the shredded beef burrito-wet.very good, comes with beans and rice inside. Best Mexican food I have had since moving to Orange County.

I really hate to write a bad review about this place because it's family owned and they're always so nice, but our dinner tonight really missed the mark on all fronts. My husband ordered the flautas combo and the tortilla was barely cooked. There was only a tiny little scoop of guacamole (literally a couple tablespoons) and a bit of salsa. Other places we've ordered them, they are covered. I ordered the fish taco combo and it was very bland. The tacos mostly just tasted like the sauce and had no flavor. There also was hardly any fish. The rice was under cooked and everything lacked flavor and just had a ton of salt. Usually when we've ordered we are given a bag of chips and a bunch of salsa. We ordered through Postmates and we didn't get ANY chips or salsa AT ALL. We were all very disappointed

Found this place driving by. First person greeted me was Rosie ended up being my server and let's just say they don't get any better. Such a wonderful soul and so helpful in choosing things to try and they were all incredible. Beers are super cold with nice cold mugs but the attention to detail matching food and service makes this place a must try! You will be glad you did

Food was hot and served quickly. Service was polite, Rosie. The menudo had great flavor. Kids menu pancakes was a hit with the kid. Iced tea was switched out for a fountain drink, as it tasted a little off. Place was clean and decorative for the holidays. Our first time here, will be back.

Had the biggest burrito I've ever seen! I would go back for the carne asada burrito, but unfortunately the other items lacked flavor. The margarita was poured out of a giant premixed jug, and it definitely did not taste like it was made with tequila, it was very odd. The ceviche was just okay. Service was great though!

Bucket of Coronas. Rice and beans are amazing. Plenty of chips and salsa.

Great customer service, food was pretty tasty. I ordered the POLLO ASADO ESPECIAL. It's boneless, skinless grilled chicken breast and a cheese enchilada covered in red sauce.

Been doing the rounds of Mexican restaurants in Orange. 2nd time at Los Cabo's and this is IT! My absolute Fav! I enjoy solo relaxing lunches NDEVUA this place is perfect. Wonderful ambiance and felt- solo or with friends. Service and food is always consistent. Last visit I had chicken with refried beans and rice. This time the shrimp tacos. The pinto beans are the BEST I have had! Not greasy, flavorful and perfect texture! The shrimp tacos were really good with cabbage and a sauce that perfectly compliments and does not overwhelm the shrimp. Huge lunch special and. Great price. Friendly attentive service. Best kept secret in Orange! Thanks Brian!!

Ask the Community - Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant

When is the pozole served, all week or just weekend?

    All week!

Do you still have 🌮 Tuesday discussions?

Yes! 3 hard shelled tacos for $5.99

Are the meatballs in the Albondigas soup made with wheat flour/starch?? Or are they made in the authentic fashion, which uses just meat & egg or rice as the main binder...?

So I asked and they said it's the old fashioned. They grind the meat fresh every day and dip it in the egg wash.

    Are you handicapped accessible?

Yes it is on site and the bathrooms are as well if you where wondering

Start cleaning out underneath your table pushing you out as fast as they can. The bar just closes down not even announcing a last call. And what is with those awful margaritas. I can't believe that a Michelin feathered Mexican restaurant can serve such awful margaritas. And I am not alone as I mentioned it to another Restaurant crowd and they agreed and said they were probably the worst margaritas in Orange. I don't know whether it's the mix or the amount of alcohol or what it is but they come out watery and really sour. A totally good dining experience has to encompass everything, food is only 50% of the deal the other 50% is service with a smile, and this one lacks it. Now there could be a reason for this epic shutdown at 9 PM. But I wonder what it is? Santa Monica seafood in Santa Monica on Wilshire Boulevard has to have last orders in by 8:30 because if they are not closed out by 10 o'clock entirely, the neighbors complain that they are putting out trash and making a noise after 10 so that I understand. But it took me a year to find that out from the owners. Restaurant owners are so stuck up and anal, I know I was one. Gabbi, whom I have never seen, should spend a night or two watching her Restaurant closing up.

The beans did not taste watered down, and the enchiladas themselves were flavorful. I always worry about shrimp overpowering the sides of a dish but it tasted great. The rice was also really filling. We had a reservation and they seated us at a pretty big table, which I liked. The servers were very timely, kind, and knowledgeable about each dish on the menu and the rotating specials. The inside of the restaurant was HUGE. I'm pretty sure it was built inside of a church. I really liked the stained glass and elevated seating areas nearby, it reminded me of the Old Spaghetti Factory layout in Fullerton. Overall, I had a very positive experience. I had to get a Diet Coke and of course, it was crisp to my expectations. A little heads-up, unlike the Costa Mesa location, they do not have horchata. But once again one has this perfunctory service, that is service that is merely to get through a night and not to enhance a dining experience. So many restaurants now seem to have the same problem, that is servers who just want to get through the evening and get it over with. The service industry has really taken a dive since my day. I don't get it. Don't they get paid more than they used to just a year or two ago. Anyway, I do enjoy the Camerones. But, the dreadful flan that I was served. This is such a basic desert and very easy to make, but one can overcook the egg proteins easily and the whole thing is grainy, scrambled and not pleasant to eat. Basically it should be cooked in a Bain Marie. Probably a lost art. Avila's has several locations and one may differ from another. The one I ate at is in Orange.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well.
