After I flooded the bathroom (I started the tub, which lacked an overflow, for my 5year old daughter and was immediately distracted by my 9 month old, laundry and then on to dinner when a neighbor knocked on the door and said 'your house is raining' ). Luckily Insurance was willing to help and Jeff came the same day I called. He was on time, extremely knowledgeable and knew just where to start. His crew was in the very next day to demo out the damage, bathroom, garage, etc. They sealed off the rest of the house and then left air filters, and large dryers for about a week to ensure no further damage would take place with a mold. He sent his estimate to insurance with very little discrepancy. We only wish we could find a contractor to repair with the same ability to work with insurance so well. We recently had some work needed done at our property and we called some other companies who were trying to scam us with questionable bids. We called Orange County Restoration Services and spoke with Isaiah who was the Project Manager for the company and he spoke at length at what he and the company what do, explained what might be needed and also gave us options in terms of the best way to take care of the work we had requested. Waking at 5am to the sound of water sensors beeping and gushing water is a pretty horrible way to start a day, but that was my experience a few weeks ago. The supply line to a toilet upstairs burst and was creating a lake on the hardwood floors and water fall as it went through the walls and steps to downstairs. Shutting off the water supply and calling insurance is the first thing. The insurance carrier gave me a couple of recommendations and I called Serve Pro initially. They said someone would be out in about 4 hours to review the damage. That gave me time to review Yelp...and did that scare me with the reviews of Serve Pro. I search a few others and saw the reviews for OC Restoration, so I gave a call. Jeff Murray answered and said he could be at my house in 20 minutes if I wanted his assistance...and that he was. After introducing himself and asking me a few questions, he was quickly on the phone directing crew, how many people and what they needed to bring. Jeff reminded me of the orchestra leader. Plastics, so many fans, so many dehumidifiers, etc. Within I would guess 30-40 minutes a group of people showed up with the gear to start working. Jeff is the owner of OC Restoration and he stuck around until the project manager showed up just a little later. My best place to be at that time was out of the way. Their actions from the beginning gave me confidence that calling OC Restoration was the best decision I had made. They started moving furniture, packing up items in boxes. Probably one of the worst aspects is the water downstairs was over some storage/closet area, so getting things out quick to dry was important. The team was on it. While the complete process took a few weeks, the team on-site really did precision work when opening the drywall, pulling up carpet, removing carpet padding, and insulation in the walls and under flooring. The created plastic bubble areas to contain the moisture for the dehumidifiers and moving furniture out of the moisture area, including getting a piano mover out within hours to move my baby grand. Through the whole process everyone at OC Restoration was excellent. If the insurance company and follow-on contractor do as excellent of job, the stress levels will be subdued. I hired OC Restoration Services in February after I discovered a first-ever pipe leak in my house. The owner, Jeff Murray, had over 30 years in the restoration field and extensive experience working with insurance companies, including my insurer, AAA. His technician arrived promptly and worked steadily over the next 10 days to seal off the damaged area with plastic, remove the damaged walls & floors, monitor the drying process, and complete the final mold remediation. Jeff coordinated the required asbestos and mold tests with a separate environmental company and continued to be responsive to any calls/questions throughout the project.
