I got helped by Adrian. He was very knowledgeable about bikes and very informative. It was my first purchase of a bike so I had no idea what anything meant or what anything on the bike was called. He went into detail on how the bike worked, what to look for when trying to find the right bike, and in the end, I left with a bike. He checked the bike out thoroughly and had me hop on it to make sure it was at the correct height before I took off. It's been almost two months since I bought it and wow! What a great purchase. I recently went to purchase a lock for it and a couple more items and got helped by someone else, also great service. The place was really busy and they still went out of their way to answer all my questions as if I was the only one in the store. This is the only place I'll be coming to when it comes to my bike. Went there this past weekend to buy my daughter a bike. They were busy as usual. They had a good selection and were helpful letting her test ride them in the parking lot. My daughter found a bike she liked but the seat post was too tall. They swapped this out at no charge to us and now it fits perfect. The bike was on sale which was also a plus. I listed my wife's old road bike to sell since she hasn't used it in 10 years (and had no plans to ride it). After listing it and having a potential buyer scheduled to see the bike, I hoisted it on my repair stand and noticed the rear shifter wasn't shifting/working. I attempted to repair myself but it was beyond my skill set and had to cancel the potential sale. The next day, I brought the bike to Orange Cycle to find out if they could fix it. The person working mentioned that it might need a new shifter because of a spring but said that their top mechanic would be in the next day who might be able to tinker with it and would call me after he had a chance to look at it. So I was facing a potential $150 repair plus cost of labor to install a new shifter or a flat fee of $50 for their time to try and fix the shifter. Fortunately, I heard back that not only was the bike fixed already but they were able to do it for only $50. THANK YOU ORANGE CYCLE!! You've earned a LOYAL CUSTOMER! read more

Bought an Aventon Sinch a couple of days ago. The buying process went well. It was only until the rubber cover for the power switch went missing. Since there are light scratches on the brake lever, the dealer said the bike was in a crash and voids the warranty. My son said he never crashed the bike and scratched the lever while walking the bike up the stairs and the lever scratched against the wall. No other scratches, no bent levers, no damaged rubber handle grip. No visible scratch on the power switch other than a missing rubber cover. The bike is in perfect condition other than the lightly scratched brake lever. The shop wants $150 to fix the part which was faulty in the first place and not due to "crash" This is the first ebike of four that I'm getting for the family. I guess I will be doing my business elsewhere. Beware of this shop should you need warranty work. They'll dismiss you off with the smallest of scratch. Update after Business Owner replied: 1) You just assessed the bike, you never bothered to report and try to secure a warranty with pictures, which is the least you could have done. 2) Really? A scratch on the lever and not anywhere else automatically means the bike was in a crash? Lol. read more

The bike mechanic sold me a used rear wheel with hairline cracks in it, passing it off as new. I didn't notice them until I got it home and installed the wheel on my Allez Sport. I've ridden the bike 50 miles, and so far it is ok. However, with these cracks, I don't expect it to last long. This mechanic does business like a used car salesman, and I will not go back to this shop. read more

They will get defensive if you call them out on their "BS". Theres at least 20-30 other bike shops in OC, probably skip this place if you want a decent price as well." Great local bike shop. I stopped by just before New Year's to shop for a cruiser or a comfortable city bike that I could use for rides with my wife and kids. The only other bike I've had in the last 20 years was a full suspension mountain bike and that's not ideal for a family cruise. They were quite busy when I got there, but I stumbled across the Retrospec brand bikes as I was looking around and one of the guys came over to help and said he really liked their product. The price was lower than I expected and the product looks really cool and more importantly, rides well and seems very well built. It only took me a minute to figure out this was the bike that I was going to buy. They quickly got me set up, bike adjusted, tires topped with air and out the door. Even more than usual, buying something in 2020, I definitely wanted to support the small, local businesses and I'm quite glad I went here. Great selection, they've been there a long time and I think they'll be there for a long time still. Definitely recommend! read more

I'm gonna look for a different shop. - also, just remembered that the last time i was at your shop (in March) i needed a tire fixed (both inner tube and a new tire) and literally like two days later it was completely flat again and I did not ride over anything sharp. Then my friend fixed it for me and i had no issues when he fixed it. And of course, if I had remembered this, I never would've come back to your store. What a waste of money. read more

I came into the shop because of a motor issue I had with my ebike. A man from behind the counter coming from the workshop approached me and said, "What do you want?" So I go on to explain that something was wrong with my motor and that it was making a grinding noise. He then proceeded to angrily tell me, "We don't have the parts for that bike we can't do anything about it." Realizing the situation I had calmly replied, "Oh okay. Could you please check the motor to see what's wrong?" Because it's a bike shop after all I at least wanted to know what was wrong with my bike. He then says, "What do you want me to check for? Fleas? Ticks? This is like bringing a Ford to a Chevy shop kid!" Now I had had enough of him almost shouting at me and just left the store. I hope everyone can agree that as a BIKE SHOP named, "Orange Cycle," that it CAN be safe to ASSUME THAT I CAN BRING A BIKE OR EBIKE INTO IT. I was not aware that they didn't have the parts for the specific ebike I had, but I just wanted to see what was wrong with my motor and the man behind at the counter just basically told me to "buzz off."What's next they're gonna kick me out because my bike is RED and not ORANGE? Because it's ORANGE CYCLE AND NOT RED CYCLE? AND THEY DONT HAVE THE PARTS FOR A RED CYCLE? I highly suggest either going to West Coast Ebikes or Bike Alley because they have way nicer people willing to help you out way more than Orange Cycle ever could instead of shooing you away. However, I would like to add that the more elderly woman was always helpful to me and my friend, exchanging a broken horn for us and always providing great customer service unlike most of the other people working. read more

Came here for a tune-up of my hybrid bike in December. When I dropped off the bike, I let them know that there were two specific adjustments that needed to be made: the bottom bracket and the cable tension for the rear derailleur. The bike was fairly new, but the lady who started the work order continued to suggest that the problems I was experiencing were likely going to result in needing replacement parts. For the work order, I repeatedly specified the two areas that needed adjustment, but the lady instead noted different parts/issues than what I had told her. Got the bike back and went for a ride, neither of the two adjustments was made, and there were very loud squeaking noises while pedaling. I ended up going to a different bike shop in Garden Grove that looked at the specific adjustments I needed and got everything fixed up for $25. I think my disappointment with this shop is that I knew the names of the adjustments I needed to be looked at, I'm not new to cycling, and the lady taking the order would not put down exactly what I was asking to be checked out, substituting her own opinion of what adjustments were needed instead. Overall, it felt as though my bike was in better condition before the tune-up than after it was done, so I unfortunately won't be coming back. read more
