The level of customer service was truly exceptional--everyone I interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to help especially Don.  He took the time to answer all my questions without rushing me, made thoughtful recommendations about my handle bars. I was a little sketch on cutting them down 20 mm but it was a perfect fit for me he ensured I felt confident in my choices. It's clear that they care not just about making a sale, but about building relationships and making sure customers leave satisfied. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and professional, and the staff went above and beyond to provide top-notch service. It's not often you come across a place that delivers this level of attention and care. This is the first bike shop that I've been to that charges customers for processing warranty claims (if you didn't purchase the bike from their shop). Customers should know before going. They are an authorized dealer for quite a few bike manufacturers, but find another shop if you didn't buy from them. It's bad enough that I have to be without a bike for manufacture defect, but I get charged an additional $60?! read more

I came in to see if they would price match a bike rack I found on Jensen's website. I was considering making the drive to Corona to save nearly $300. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted kindly and professionally. This was my second visit and the same great service made me feel very welcomed. I started shopping for a new EMTB several months ago and visited a number of bike shops plus I conducted extensive on-line research. I prefer a brands with real dealers and ideally someone local. The Path's Kim recommended an Orbea Wild based on my preferences. A few weeks later Orbea had a demo day @ The Path and thus I got to ride two different Orbeas on local trails, plus I rented the latest Specialized Levo 4, borrowed a YT, and a different Specialized plus a parking lot ride of an Amflow PL. In the end I chose the Orbea Wild Team based on the quality of suspension parts, overall bike balance and light feel plus the great discount that The Path offered. I ordered the bike through Kim and it arrived 5 weeks later as promised. Based on a couple of rides I've found my new bike to be just excellent. The shop assembled & tuned the bike for my weight and helped with app setup and feature discussions. They cut down some upgrade higher rise carbon bars, installed them, and setup the tires to be tubeless as part of the free setup. I've been in there 6 or more times in the purchase process and everyone has been first rate as well as they communicated very well via texts(ETA and price on specific builds). At The Path I dealt with 4-6 different people that all seemed Interested and patient and helpful in genuinely positive ways. First I would like to state that the complexity of a bicycle isn't nearly as comlex as you people would like it to be. I go in with a brand new hydraulic caliper and handle. I ask him to shorten it to 3ft. Simple request. He asked if I will do the rest, I say yes...(hes all huffy puffy I offer to come back in 20) he said no just wait. I wait 10 minutes. Then he says hes ready. He says of he cuts the line fluid is going to spill all over. Well no F&*#^$ Sh#^ why do you think I brought it to you to be done???? THen he says oh no you have to go to the other store for that. LOL, sure pal. How about another store. Little do these people know the impact this will have on their business. I am a bit disappointed in Yelp however. When you type in "bike shop near me", this place doesn't pop up. Only the trek dealer close by. I have to zoom in to the city of tustin before it comes up. Follow the money. I guess the other guys are paying for SEO ranking although they are not as reputable or as well equipped. In conclusion, I drive by 4 other high end bike shops to go to this place. Purchased a bike from this place and the ad said FREE KONA WAH WAH PEDALS (Just ask). Needless to say I didn't receive free pedals even after asking 3 times in the form of email and text. The bike also had several paint chips and a few scratches. I was only told about 1 paint chip and they refunded $$ for that one. It was also missing a tool storage bag that fit into the downtube. UPDATED Someone from the shop reached out to me and informed me that the missing items were on the way. They also made an offer to compensate me for the chips and scratches. As some of you may be aware, during this time, the bike industry is selling an unprecedented amount of bikes and gear. Given this situation and the headaches that (I'm sure) come with the demand, I wasnt expecting the greatest customer service.... But woah was I wrong. I would like to personally thank Tori for being very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I called in right when they opened to see if they had what I wanted and she told me they did. I wasn't able to get down to their shop until later in the afternoon, but when I did, Tori had my item waiting for me behind the counter (which she had personally grabbed from stock - heavy item) and remembered our conversation. This was impressive enough, but the next afternoon when I was installing my purchase (bike rack) on my car, I came across an installation concern and I called the shop for assistance. Tori politely listened to me voice concern and walked me through what to do. She answered my questions and gave me some relief. Tori as well as the other staff members who I interacted with over the phone were very professional and polite. I would like to thank the entire staff and ownership for not only their professionalism but cheerful demeanor. This place used to be great with knowledgeable and helpful staff, but recently it's gotten worse. My friend bought a new bike from there a few weeks ago, based on my recommendation of how great this shop was. Turns out it had a defective derailleur. They kept trying to push the blame on him, asking if he crashed and what not. It's obvious no one crashed; since there are no scratches or anything on the bike/derailleur. AND the guy working there said that SRAM SX derailleurs have bad QA. So anyways, no components are in stock, and the shop wants him to call in periodically to check on status, since they're so busy. So he's stuck riding a broken bike. He found another derailleur for sale online, and brought it in to get installed. They installed the new RD, and you'd think they would just reimburse him the cost of RD out of good will (since he did just drop a couple grand on a bike), but they said when they get it in stock he'll just have to pick it up. Considering how many times he drove out to the shop, they finally brought out the expert, Mike to look at his bike. He checked the derailleur hanger and upgraded the shifter to an NX for free. He also installed new cable housings. This is kind of the service I used to see before. Sad that it took 4 trips to the shop to get it. Another example; I needed a new chain for my bike. I went to the shop and told the guy I needed a chain, and he just whipped out some Shimano chain. I told him I had a SRAM drivetrain, and then he finally got the right chains out. Like, that should be an obvious question, how many speeds and what brand? Eventually another gentleman with a big beard helped me out. I think he's a veteran staff member, because he was much more knowledgeable about the product and the shop. The whole point of going to a local bike shop is to get some expert service, so this a bit disappointing. read more

I went in to check out a gravel bike that no one but The Path Bike Shop had available online. When I got there, the bike wasn't put together yet nor on the showroom floor. All good because inventory has been crazy. Anyhow, they said that it would be put together in a few days so I left a deposit to secure it. Surprisingly, I got a call the next day saying it was good to go!! The build was solid, they recommended and installed pedals, I totally love btw, and I was off. In truth, I tuned both front and rear derailleurs to my liking, lowered my seat and raise my handlebars. All of which they would of done, but I like to take ownership by tweaking things myself. This was my first purchase here. All were super easy to work with and I wish they were closer to me!! Lastly, I must say, they skew more mountain bike, but solid shop front to back!!! read more

I purchased an electric mountain bike there and upgraded some stuff there as well on the bike. Had some warranty work done there as well as servicing the bike there prices a little steep. Over all they did me wrong with some issues on the bike after servicing the bike and spending almost $700 plus. They left the calipers loose and didn't fix dropper seat. They misdiagnosed it and still wanted to charge me more to repair the dropper seat they diagnosed. The dropper seat still does not function as it should. Don't take your bike to be serviced there .. read more

So I built up a Hard Tail Pinarello XC and was so stoked to get it dirty when I had this brilliant idea to download an "App" for my Shimano XT Di2. Welp, after fiddling around with the app I noticed my Di2 was in purgatory and wouldn't respond at all. Help?... Called the Path and Mike Card gave me guidance and insurance on how he's the Di2 man. I brought my bike in and shazam he "Dialed" it and I was out getting dirt on my new bike and my fillings rattled on this hard tail. I live next to this shop and I do not recommend going there for anything. I came in frequently when I was looking to buy a MTB. The sales people were very upfront about the lack of 'entry level budget' bikes they had in stock. Once you tell them your budget is below $3k, they stop helping you out. They had a wide selection of high end bikes that ranged from $5-10k. The racist vibe probably is a result of them profiling how much $$ you are willing to spend buying a new bike. Once I bought a bike within my budget (awesome build btw!) from a direct-to-consumer manufacturer, I came in here looking for services to be done. I was quoted a price and a turnaround time. When I came back to drop off the bike for the quoted service, I interfaced with a different tech who refused to perform the service on my bike without me purchasing new 'tubeless-ready' tires at $75 each. This experience should give you an idea of the kind of shop this is. Your experience will vary depending on which worker you interface with. I came in a few more times looking for components and accessories to do my own bike work. They were out of almost everything I was looking for, and the things they had in stock were marked up compared to Amazon or other online retailers. My advice: Call ahead. read more

So I purchased my wife's bike from The Path and have had some work and upgrades done to my bike. Working with them has been good for the bikes and it has been good for me too. I've learned a bunch chatting with the staff and feel like I have a stronger connection to the community. The Path is not just a bike shop. They're ambassadors for mountain biking and a solid part of the community. They cover the basics of good and timely service, friendly staff, and accurate information. And they take that further by being a resource to the community by getting involved in trail maintenance, running shop rides, hosting expansive demo events, etc. Their motto is "Love the bike you ride." And that manifests in their willingness to work with whatever you got and to help you get it to where you want it. It's telling that they have a workstand right inside the front door, and Brandon will get your bike up and assessed within minutes. They're not gonna cool-guy you if you come in with a less than modern bike. I also appreciate that it's a rider owned operation. And Tani isn't just a rider but a ripper! It's important to note that there are knowledgeable women working there. Kim helped my wife pick out the right bike. Other shops would default to suggesting something more XC...something easier to pedal, but Kim wasn't afraid to get my wife on something more aggressive...something that actually matched my wife's riding style and aspirations. I have been to a DOZEN bike shops in the OC the past month and have been treated with the same shitty service but have come to realize the DEMAND FOR BIKES HAS NEVER BEEN GREATER IN OUR LIFETIME. The unparalleled STRESS that bike shops are under from repairs, to sales, to logistically coordinating the demands are unimaginable. I have felt less than in many recent experiences, shop workers do not make a ton of money yet they are EXPECTED to cater to our flat tire and kickstand demands in all sorts... BUT PATH is where it stops!! I was apprehensive as others about stepping into a "PRIVILEGED" bike shop but to my surprise was greeted with open arms and good vibrations. Even though their showroom was closed to the public, Tony and the team brought out about 6 bikes or so and invested a good hour with me to educate me on bikes and really to talk about life. Not only that they let me demo one of their full suspension bikes for a day and it ultimately changed my entire mood... Seriously this place is down to earth, knowledgeable and carry some of the most visually appealing bikes I have ever seen...
