My family of 6 decided to try Orange Thai for a Father's Day. dinner. The restaurant is almost inconspicuously tiny with very limited seating. That usually is a good sign and indeed it was. We were seated promptly as we had Md called in for reservation's. The tables are small and we placed three together. We were given water immediately plus we ordered Thai teas which were promptly served. The owner was our server and promptly took out individual orders consisting of two shared orders of chicken satay. We ordered seafood tom yum soup plus Pad See Ew, one shrimp Pad Thai, two chicken Pad Thai's, Pineapple fried rice. For each order we were asked what spice lever 1-5 we would like. I ordered my pai at a (12)twelve. I also asked for what for me is Sine qua non, that being nam pla prik which was served ice cold from a refrigerator. The only real criticism I have would be that the main entrees were brought to the table before the soup. The satays were served first and I'd say that the chicken texture was more or less that of a thin processed chicken tender. The satay came with a small bit of cucumber and onion side slobs with a I presume was a peanut sauce. The portions were huge, the amount of shrimp, muscles, fish and what seemed to be scallops was more than adequate and very good. I really enjoyed my chicken Pad Thai but could only finish half , much to my chagrin. My Granddaughter commented favorably about her pins pole fried rice and the eldest of my two Grandson's literally devoured every morsel of his chicken Pad Thai. Of course my other grandson ordered Shrimp pad Thai and gave me his shrimp and stated that he doesn't like shrimp? De gustibus non est disputandum? Go figure! The owners service was great and very attentive. The food was very good with only a slight reservation. We were planning to top off the meal with a shared serving of the traditional Khao Niao Mamuang (Sticky Rice and Mango) but we were all satiated to the MAX! Maybe next time. There are more modern looking restaurants with table cloths and ambiance but the charm of the small intimate eatery wasn't lost at Orange Thai. The family enjoyed the meal and my son and I enjoyed the Father's Day experience at Orange Thai. read more

I was out here for a business run and happened to come across this little Thai spot. It's located in a large center so there is plenty of parking spaces. When I walked by it smelled so good from the outside. When I walked in the owner was separating fresh basil. The place looked and smelled like authentic thai food. Very pleasant and friendly service. Small hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant near our hotel. Nice service for our family and friends and tasty food. We ordered the pork pad thai, chicken green curry, and larb. The pad thai was fresh and tasty. The tanginess of the lime hit the spot. The green curry was just the right amount of spice, although even our kids couldn't handle it yet. Their crispy cream cheese wontons were delicious. We also liked their soup with lime, chicken and coconut; it's really good. They have a variety of main entrees that we would like to try. The best thing about their food is consistency in flavor. Never a hit or miss. When you're pretty hungry, you don't like surprises. Went here on a hot day and when I tell you the customer service was impeccable, you would have had to be there. They had fans on with mist pointing at us to cool us down. They were attentive and always making sure we were good. I couldn't finish my water because they were filling it before it was gone! Wow! The food was so good! There's a few tables inside, but fairly small. Was feeling soupy so we ordered the following: - Tom Yum Noodle $13.99 - Khao Soi $14.99 Both were good! The Khao Soi comes with a chicken leg - a little different than the other Khao Soi I've had. The Tom yum noodle came with jalapeños inside so definitely had a kick. Came here on a whim with my friend and we ordered the khao soi and the ka Tom soup Both were really good and really flavorful, the staff was very nice and it seems like it's a mom and pop shop. The ambiance in the restaurant was really unique and chic there were wooden walls and little trinkets all around. My mom and I moved to the OC about 17 years ago. We loved going to Thai food growing up in Glendale. I have only been to one other place since we moved here. Today we tried Orange Thai on a mother / daughter date. It is a small restaurant, that looks to be an old coffee shop in decor prior. They seem to do a lot of take out orders as we sat in to have an early dinner. We ordered a lot but happy to take it home for later. We ordered: Young coconut Yellow curry chicken BBQ pork fried rice Tom Kai seafood soup Prik king with chicken Mango w/ sticky rice Mom loved her young coconut/ soft coconut meat and sweet juice. We loved the flavor of the BBQ pork fried rice, some of the best we've ever tasted as well as the Tom Kai soup with plenty of seafood in a rich creamy coconut milk based soup. Mom noted the slight sweetness of Prik king sauce, which she liked;while I enjoyed how fresh and crunchy the green beans were. Yellow curry was good. We also loved the mango sticky rice for dessert ... it was slightly green tinged and my mom believes that's because they wrapped in banana leaves it was good(not overly sweet), the mango wasn't as sweet as I like it. Food tasted very fresh and we will return. Can't wait to bring my boy's with us to try it out. The service was good and friendly. We had a craving for some Thai food and stopped into this place to have an early dinner. We ordered the Yellow Curry with jasmine rice, Pad See Ew and Chicken Satay for appetizers. Plus 2 Thai ice tea's. The food was delicious, very flavorful and tasty with just the right amount of heat. Everything came out hot and very fresh. A very flavorful meal!!! The place is small but very quaint. The owner Peter make sure that everything was delicious. He took the time to explain how all his meals are freshly made to order as they do not have any large refrigerators or freezer storage. He was very genuine as he spoke with us a bit. It tastes fresh, very flavorful, and is always steaming hot when it gets to my door. Also great customer service - I ordered a coke with my meal and they even put it on ice to keep it cold. My new favorite Thai restaurant!!! We always see it in this Mama's / Walmart Neighborhood plaza but didn't try it until today. Thank goodness we were craving Thai food tonight. And the reason we came by was because of Yelp! The restaurant is super cute; the decor is like the old restaurant that used to be here (which I used to frequent) and I'm glad they kept it almost similar. You feel like you're transported to another country. I also love that it's very small mom & pop feel. Peter and Wendy are so nice!! They welcomed us with open arms. They are amazing hosts. I've had the Red Curry, Green Curry, Panang Curry, Pad Thai, and Tom Kha at Orange Thai. The flavors are really good, though I needed to add salt to one of the curries before. The sauces and soup are a little thinner / more watery in consistency than many other restaurants, but again, the flavors are good! The service is friendly, but a little slow. They get a lot of takeout orders and get a bit overwhelmed at times (probably due to small staff), so if you are patient and know this going into it, it won't be a problem. I wouldn't really recommend dining in, as it's a small restaurant and feels a little tight in there, especially with multiple people hanging around for their to-go orders. I love that Orange Thai is close to my house, has yummy food, and offers online ordering. Will return (when not in the mood to drive to Zabb) and recommend to others. read more

We happened to be in the area around dinnertime. Yelped for asian food nearby. My husband and I thought we should try Orange Thai since they have a 4.8 rating on Yelp. Small place with maybe 3 tables that are too close to each other. If they're busy I wonder if you would have to share a table with other patrons. Luckily for us, there was only 1 couple dining in when we arrived. The male owner is very sweet and friendly. They are pretty busy and they get a lot of take-out orders. The food? I ordered Seafood Pineapple Curry and as one Yelp review stated - they don't skimp on protein here. There was a generous amount of seafood (bay scallop, mussels, shrimp, calamari) in it. Hubby ordered Pad Thai, and while it was decent and had a generous amount of shrimp, it is the version that has red sauce in it. This is the version that we don't like (we prefer the orange one). Their sauce was pretty strong and had a pretty tangy aftertaste. Anyways, I guess we have to make sure next time we go Thai to ask what color the sauce is or check out multiple pictures before placing our order.
