Double charged and never refunded. The manager, Ken, was extremely rude, condescending, and disrespectful when I tried to alert him of the issue. He was interrupting me, laughing at me, and gaslighting me the whole time, when I have proof of double charges not being voided. I asked him to look up the second charge in the system and he just said he can't go back that far and I'm wrong. Disputing this charge and never going back to support this behavior. The food was fine but I can get great Thai food from Orange Thai down the road for the same price if not cheaper, along with excellent customer service and a manager who took full accountability in a very kind way when the restaurant once messed up my order. read more

I was craving Thai food, but I was sad to see there wasn't anything open, but I came across this place and saw that it's open until 2am. Safe to say this place was worth it! The Wonton Soup was simple but really hit the spot and the Seafood Pad See Ew was what my cravings were looking for. Ken recommended the Thai Tea instead of the Thai Green Tea, because it's less sweet and I got that with boba. It had the right amount of sweetness, so thank you Ken and for your service, you made my night! The restaurant was clean with some customers and a lot people ordering takeout. Modern music covers in the style of low-fi music was playing and it just made me enjoy this experience even more. It has a really cozy feel and this quickly became a favorite spot! I wrote a review a few years ago and still to this day, Thai Wave remains the best Thai food in Hb! They consistently offer amazing flavor and quality. Service is exceptional! We had the privilege of having Pim be our server the last few times we dined in. She is always very nice and attentive. They stream baseball game on their big screens and possibly basketball when in season. They have happy hour deals on food and drinks and they're NOW oPEN until 2am! Recently we had them cater our staff holiday party and everything came out fresh, delicious and amazing. We ordered: chicken satay which is a must get with their cucumber relish. Sweet, salty and healthy because they use chicken breast. Potstickers which is lightly seared and steamed and has a house made soy sauce. Crispy shrimp wraps which has a whole shrimp in it fried with a egg roll wrapper and a sweet and sour sauce. Crowed favorite Thai fried rice with chicken. Has lots of veggies and flavor Pad thai which is my absolute favorite. Sweet and sour with the added lime so amazing I get this here everytime. Chow mein was our staffs favorite noodle dish. Lots of noodles and veggies with soy base. We opted for no meat but it was so good it didn't need it. Thai bbq chicken i like how they used all cuts of chicken. My husband like white meat but I like dark meat. It was the best of both dark and white meat. The orange chicken was very crispy and flavorful you can taste the real orange juice not the rake tasting oj. The dish stayed crispy for over 4 hours. King oyster with beef is like their beef and broccoli. Very tender beef and fresh broccoli. My biggest irritated is over cooked veggies. This was not at all. Lots of garlic with soy sauce. Late-night cravings cured -- thanks to Pim and the delicious food! Came here late at night and was so happy they were open! Our server Pim was amazing -- super attentive, friendly, and really made us feel welcome. The food was incredible. The papaya salad was so fresh and had the perfect crunch, the pad thai and pad see ew were both packed with flavor, and the mango sticky rice was delicious (I personally would have preferred it without the sesame seeds, but still so good). Overall, everything hit the spot and Pim's service made the whole experience even better. Can't wait to come back! read more

Best Thai I've had in the area Hands down! Google Maps / Waze will tell you that it's closed but they are in fact open til 2am every night! How did you spend your Friday? My wife and I actually marched from the HB public library on Main Street to the pier plaza in support of keeping our local public libraries ...... well.... public. After waving flags and banners, we needed a drink and grabbed a tall beer at Killarny's then finished the evening with dinner at Thai Wave. We've lived in HB for 22 years and never knew this place was here. What a bummer! There is a cheap and delicious Thai place right on Main Street? It's been here a while, across the street from the library, Triangle Park and right next door to Cucina Alessa. My fellow protesters have been regulars here and the four of us had a great meal. Cold sake, tall beers, Tom Ka seafood soup, vegetable curry and shrimp garlic noodles. All delicious. Service was super sweet and the meal was surprisingly affordable. Been coming here almost weekly for about the last 2 years, and for good reason! The food is always fresh and flavorful, and they are always expanding the menu and adding new dishes (the orange chicken is probably the best I've ever had). Other highlights include the Khao Soi, the various curries, and the Rama (peanut lover). Come during the week for the $5 happy hour appetizers -- the egg rolls are very crunchy and full of good veggies. The staff are very friendly, they always smile and know our ordering habits. My go to Thai restaurant - a hidden gem. Calamari is great if made with Tempura, it changed a few months ago, I hope it goes back to it. I recommend the Pad Se Ew (best when it's all sea food). To my surprise that the flavor was really yummy especially the sauce you dipped with soft tender juicy chicken. The chicken sauce soaked rice with couple fresh cucumber to clean your palate too. It's very cozy. The Thai iced tea is great. It's sweet but has a bit of an herbal taste which is balanced with a delightful cream. The people are very sweet and the food is served very quick. Ordered food through Uber eats and got incorrect order of papaya salad delivered, asked for veggie option but got the one with shrimp delivered. Restaurant refused to get a replacement veggie option even when I offered to bring in the wrong order. After all this , the salad and food was sub par. The salad had half a quarter of a cabbage that was not even shredded and uncooked shrimp with a piece of bread inside it. I have never seen a salad with these mix of ingredients that taste this weird especially after wrong order and bad customer care. I will never go back to this restaurant. I regret having to downgrade this restaurant to 2 stars but I won't be able to eat here again. It's because on my last meal here, the chicken just did not taste good. And don't get me wrong--it was not unhealthy chicken or chicken that will make you sick--it's just that it was dried out, tasteless, and every bite gave you that bad after-taste. I asked the one of the very nice staff members here if they are using fresh chicken that they cut up themselves or frozen pre-cut pieces from a microwave which is what it tasted like? She assured me that it was fresh chicken they prepare in-house. Then my recommendation is that they need to sit down and review the prep process and reach out to other Thai restaurants for suggestions on how to improve it because I can't eat that again. I know it can be a lot better because I dine out at a lot of Thai restaurants where it is a lot better. Likewise I have been to some other Thai restaurants over the years where the chicken also tasted bad like it did here. It's a matter of learning what the best prep is and do that everyday. It's a challenge in restaurants and in my kitchen too to deliver tender tasty chicken. The rest of the ingredients here were fine--great eggplant and peppers and the atmosphere and service here are always great--just work on the chicken please. This place is on Main St near the beach, right by the Huntington Beach Main Library. I was in the area and was hungry so I walked in and ordered their Pad See Ew with Tofu, my favorite Thai dish for take out. I could eat pad see ew every day lol. Within 10 minutes, my order was ready. During Covid-19, there are signs on tables to space them out, and every other table is skipped. I don't do dine in anyway for precautionary measures. The pad see ew was very flavorful. The sauce was on point. Not the best noodles as they were a little soggy and not chewy, but the tofu soaked in the flavors. What was interesting was they stir fried the pad see ew in both Chinese and American broccoli. I usually get one or the other, but I'm fine with both. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. Their mango sticky rice looks good. Happy eating and stay safe! read more
