Impeccable service as always. My food usually takes twenty-five minutes to make. Love the Dutch Baby pancake; a little butter spread and a light drizzle of lemon is all I need. Thick cut bacon and fresh squeezed orange juice and I am good to go.

Food was delicious and service was great. My nephew tried the patriotic pancakes. Blueberry pancakes with strawberries, whip cream and strawberry syrup. I had the meat lovers skillet which was delicious.

Pleasantly surprised on how good the food was! I haven't been in a while. It was Saturday morning so the wait was extreme! Glad I waited, the server was phenomenal, patient, caring and on time.with what my.group needed. I kept it simple. Ordered Conred beef hash and eggs. Some of the tastiest. Fresh and HUGE serving. Overall, worth the wait and definitely loved the food.!

I like this place. Always clean. Service is usually good. They might run out of something but definitely a place with returning. As you can see I like my grits and my Omelet on the same plate mixed together. Yum!

This location has been my 2nd time here within 5 years. I don't live here but when I visit... this place is a must on my list! The waitress Yahira was extremely nice and attentive to details with our order. Food was fresh and hot. And took no more than 15 mins. I've read some of the previous reviews and I'm not sure if these are from busy days but it rained the morning we went and things ran smoothly.

Love love love this place. Everyone in my family loves the food and we always come here. Even on the busiest Sunday morning, we were seated in 20 minutes and we were serviced very quickly but not too quick. I know you may be thinking this recipe is bias or just overly positive but this place is truly special. The food and service never fails us and it won't fail you too I guarantee it. The Ambiance gives a cool, not hot at all temperature. Sometimes I feel a little breeze that chills me to my core and then I'm back in the normal comfortable temperature the restaurant and waiting area provide .

Classic, Original pancake house. Just what you'd expect. Plus, Dutch Babies and Apple Pancakes. Hopefully, Sharen will serve you because she is so sweet. They have quite the sampling, and it all looks good. Also, larger quantities. I've grown to really enjoy breakfast leftovers. Hope to see you there!

Pigs in a Blanket with a side of 2 eggs and large grits

Todays visit was okay. The parking lot is pretty small so it can be hard to navigate/find parking. Be prepared to park on the street. The inside is nice. I think it's socially distanced well. As you can see in the photos, the portions are decent/large expect for the drink. The chocolate milk is made with chocolate syrup (this isn't bad but not something I've visibly experienced at other restaurants). The pigs in a blanket were good. However, the farmers skillet was very bland. I added salt and pepper and it was still very bland. Ketchup made it a bit bareable. I was extremely disappointed with it so I only ate a few bites. Overall, the servers were nice and we'd probably go back.

I ordered a Turkey Link & Cheese Omelette. They delivered a meat lover's omelette. I'm allergic to pork & never eaten it nor bacon.

I returned. The food was very good. Maybe the change was due to my going earlier in the day.

So when Hanabusa Cafe appeared on my search for brunch in DT Chicago it was a no brainer for me. I dragged my husband with me first thing in the morning so that we don't have to wait in line. Thank Goodness there was no line but the menu was a little confusing. They gave us a menu and we had to order in line first, and of course it being our first time here, we were attracted to the pictures and didn't notice the handwritten strawberry cream flavors (also our heads were down reading the menu rather than up looking at the TV advertising (which has the SC flavor - obviously we missed out on that). I had checked the menu on yelp before going and already knew I wanted the earl grey pancakes. When we got there, I saw that there were two favorites. I asked our teller which would he recommended between the fan-fav of Custard Vs the Earl Grey. His answer was "... well... they are very different flavors..." and that was as descriptive as he got -- so I just stuck with my Earl Grey. My husband told me I was being a butthole and why did I ask for their recommendation if I was only going to go with my original. I told him I asked for their thoughts and recommendations and he didn't really sell it to me, duh! I'm very aware that those are two different flavors but maybe if they can tell me more about the flavors and why he liked one over the other, I may have been sold. Be excited about what you sell/serve! Anyway. The husband had the plain and I had earl grey and no regrets. Only regret I had was not being able to go again before we had to leave Chicago and my husband's regret that he didn't see the strawberry cream earlier as he would have gotten that one. So don't miss out on that! 1 star down because service could have been better.

I had the corned beef hash, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, while my husband ordered the Mexican omelet with taco meat, and he couldn't stop talking about how good it was. We also enjoyed an iced coffee and a chocolate shake, both of which were fantastic. Of course, we couldn't resist trying a few extras, so we ordered the chocolate-covered pancakes and potato pancakes for the table. Both were incredible and the perfect addition to our meal. Between the delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and friendly service, this was such a great experience. We will definitely be back the next time we're craving an amazing breakfast or brunch. Highly recommend!

I would assume a place where the newest thing since the 1980s is the security camera would have vinyl with more cracks and patina than my trusty old leather jacket! But no, it's in fantastic shape. Especially given that, the vibe in here is awesome! It's like stepping through a time-portal. For food, I ordered an old favorite: Pigs in Blankets. The food came out fast, though, to be fair, there was only one other person dining in at the time. The sausage links were crisp, and the pancakes were lightly sweet and fluffy. All in all, great! While perhaps not enough to summon the Michelin Guide inspectors, it was better than the average greasy spoon. Finally, I really appreciate that the prices are reasonable, and that there is parking! Final verdict: I've had a small handful of spectacular breakfasts. I've also had criminal breakfasts, where two unsalted eggs, two bacon strips, and a tablespoon of potatoes costs $14.95. Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House finds itself in that sweet spot in between - it is neither a spectacular spot (often have prices to boot), nor is it an overpriced, underwhelming greasy spoon that stays in business thanks to regulars who have been coming for decades and don't want anything better.
