This doesn't look like homemade. It looks and tastes like it is from a can

I bought a corn beef hash and it made me so sick. My daughter called and they said there is nothing I can do because I can't prove the food made me sick. I will never go here again. I work for a hospital right down the street and I am letting everyone know

Happy holidays? Presidents' Day? It's a bit expensive.

Our first time here so hopes were high! Unfortunately our hopes weren't met. I ordered an apple waffle and bacon, my son ordered oatmeal with blueberries and eggs Benedict with potato pancakes. The waffle and oatmeal came first, so we started eating. The waffle was delicious! Homemade apple syrup came with the waffle. It was delicious. But the eggs didn't arrive until I was halfway through my waffle. Service was okay. Only one refill? Not checking in? Not bringing the eggs for such a long time? We watched others get their food while we waited. Bummer! A bit expensive is another con. Hollandaise (however you spell it) with Tabasco wasn't the best. The potato pancakes were not grated potatoes; they were small pieces and made the pancakes taste as if they were from a box.

French toast, dry and no flavor.

I ordered buckwheat pancakes with peaches on top and my wife, Sheryl, ordered french toast. The food was very bland with flavors only from toppings. My wife asked for no strawberry preserves, and wished she had gotten them afterwards. There are many breakfast places in area and will go there vs. this location. The service was poor at best and coffee cup ran empty several times. We are sure but both of us had the quick step after our meal here and this place was the only common denominator. I lower the rating due to this.

The Original Pancake House (LaGrange, IL location) is a great addition to the food scene in LaGrange, IL..

I really like this place a lot. Almost always busy. I really enjoy their food. They have different styles of pancakes. Thick cut bacon is very good. I really like to get their corned beef cooked crispy. The place is always clean. Never had a bad meal there. I have few issues with the place. Some of the staff isn't as good as others (chalk that up to being new or it's just busy.) The decaf is not good. The regular coffee is fine. They often don't give you spoons for the coffee. They are not open for dinner. (That's it. I told you very few issues.) Ask for the tropical syrup for your pancakes. It's like an orange marmalade sauce.

My wife and I stopped in here after seeing it a few times on our way to blueberry hill breakfast cafe. Parking was perfect and our server Nelly was a rockstar. Best pancakes we have had in awhile. And the eggs were probably the best scrambled eggs ever ( I know that sounds weird). We will definitely be back.

A 5 for food quality, a 3 for service and a 2 for ambience. The spinach, feta, tomato and jalapeno omelette was amazing and enough for 2 meals. Service was just ok- we had to frequently hunt down a server for coffee even though the restaurant wasn't that crowded. As for the ambience, the lighting is nearly blinding it's so bright. I've had surgeri in the past and even the operating rooms weren't that bright and sterile. It certainly doesn't create a comforting morning atmosphere. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars but closer to 3 than 4.

The food is absolutely delicious and amazing. The service here is incredible. And the ambiance of the restaurant is family friendly. I highly recommend coming here for a great breakfast and to spend quality time with family!

I want to love this place but am continually disappointed after every visit. Been here about 6 times since they opened and there's always something that goes wrong I'm finally writing about it so this is a collective review. Today, my omelette that came out was not the one I ordered so my mom ate her breakfast while I waited for the correct one The server was apologetic as expected but as a matter of customer service, our bill should have been discounted a bit. Moreover, the charming part of the restaurant is the front part adjacent to the road. Much to our surprise it was roped off for staffing reasons. I get that but they have the wrong part of the restaurant roped off. Why not avoid sitting people next to the restrooms and kitchen entrance instead? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you're not sitting people in, what many would surely agree, the most cozy part of the restaurant. The food here is really good so that keeps us coming back. I also realize things are upside down a bit still from the pandemic but, with the exception of the grand opening week kinks, this place is still fumbling the ball. It's clear the GM of this outpost does not have a tight grip on the operation. Such a shame.

I like the ambiance and the space. There is plenty of seating and you don't feel overly crowded even when it is busy. The service was good and we did get one refill for our coffee. The food is also good. The cherry crepes are delicious and the pancakes really do stand out. I also like their omelettes but was a little disappointed they don't come with a side of hash browns. Pricing is fair.

But for a premium price, I expect premium product, and this place is rough around the edges in ways that feel easy to fix. I'm pointing them out in hopes they'll be corrected. First the positive - the food was pretty good. Not great for the price, but pretty good. Drip coffee was better than most diners/cafes in the area. The ambience was pleasant. Here's the issues. 1. The furniture needs a refresh and I don't think the place has even been open that long. The side tables by the window are losing their finish - a fragment of wood got caught under my finger nail as I was sitting down and just lightly grazed the table with my hand. I also brushed away a few additional flakes coming up. The chiffon curtains are charming until you look closer and see they're speckled with food from past diners. A moss ball decoration in the bathroom is missing half its moss. It's little stuff, obviously, but when I spot things like this at a place otherwise charging a premium partially for cute aesthetics, I always get concerned that the lack of attention to detail might also be getting reflected in the food. 2. Value for money and food quality are also an issue. $20 for one slice of sourdough cut in half, a rather overdone French omelette with sour cream on top (not mentioned on the menu and a weird choice) a bowl of fruit I wasn't interested in rather than a choice of free side, and sausages I paid extra for, is not good value to me. The bread was good! The omelette was mediocre. The sausage was very solid, had a slight funk to it that I liked and suggested to me it was made in house - but 7 dollars for two sausage patties is absolutely wild. I would suggest Milkstop rethink the combos on its menu to include more and be priced a touch more transparently. 3. Finally, service. Everyone was VERY KIND, again, want to stress that, but service was slow and rather inattentive for most of the meal. The place was only half full, but water and an initial drink order were slow, and I waited for a while for the check while the staff chatted amongst themselves in the corner of the room. Not trying to be a dick, the life of a service worker is tough, but the place was mostly empty and I noticed they already charge a 3% service gratuity on your orders, so I'd expect a little better. Basically this place has a very charming surface with some wonkiness around the edges. I will definitely come back again but guys, come on - ditch the gross chiffon curtains, for both our sakes.

I had the red pepper and cheddar quiche -- delicious! It was light and fluffy and came out in great timing. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the dressing was light -- just enough. First time visitors. We came here on a whim for a quick meal. We were greeted immediately. We arrived at 6:20 p.m. to a virtually empty spot. We were immediately seated. Our server arrived at 6:29, but did apologize for the wait - the patio was busy. To which we said, "THERE'S A PATIO?!" My biggest gripe is that they were slowww. We didn't get our food until 6:55. My wife ordered her steak medium, but it came out a clear medium-well. One of my sons ordered his steak well. It came out toughhhhhh. He could only finish about half of it before saying "my jaws hurt from chewing," and tapped out. He finished my wife's steak. MY burger was great! I added bacon that was fried perfectly. I was pretty impressed with the size of my burger. It was very thick. We had to salt all of our food. Lol! And the fries were decent - nothing to write home about.
