I dont leave reviews, but this experience deserves this! I've been a member of OTF over 8yrs. This is my 1st visit to the Concord studio. I appreciate the hospitality! Obi, you greeted and treated me as a 1st timer new member. He gave me a tour of the studio, even had my locker saved w my name on it, and personally introduced me to the Coach! I signed up for free trial just been there for 2 days. I called to cancel my free trial. The manager I spoke with she's being rude. She hang the phone to me right away that u can hear from the other line that she slammed the phone. Just FYI to future costumer to sign up for free trial on this location please don't do it because the manager is so rude and they try to force you to sign up. It saddens me to have such a poor experience with this studio as of lately. I had been a member since 2018! Management changed over the last few years and the customer service declined significantly. The instructors are great. And that is the 2 stars. Great workout but the headaches over simple administrative tasks is not worth when you have so many great studios around offering great quality services. I had to have a surgery mid December and informed the studio I needed to put a freeze on my membership. A whopping $189/ month mind you. I submitted the form and called to ensure all had been completed. Come January, there is a charge on my account. I called, left voicemail messages, emailed and didn't hear from a single soul. I called last week and finally got a hold of a manager by the name of Candy. She apologized and was kind. She explained she had a new employee who has misfiled the paperwork. I requested to be refunded the money and she assured me it would be corrected. I explained to her my situation and provided her with doctor's note and all. I explained I had no expected clearance to return to working out as I need an additional surgery and she said not to worry. One day later, I am told I am getting a freeze fee which should not apply to legitimate medical reasons and a notice that my freeze was only effective for two months. I went ahead and requested to cancel and the response was: "If you would like cancel you would either you need to come in person or cancel online. Were you charged for Jan, let me look into it." No words. Let me also mention that I partook on the hell week as I have for the last 5 years and never received a shirt I was entitled to get as I completed the challenge. They kept on saying the shirt was at a different studio and 4 months later... here we are. Were the workout classes good? Yeah. Is the customer service lacking? Yeah. Is that enough for me to leave? 100% yeah. Orange theory lost a client ... never again. read more

I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Orangetheory Fitness, both at the Concord location and with corporate. Canceling a membership should be simple, but OTF has made it deliberately difficult and opaque. Their app does not allow cancellations, forcing members to call or show up in person. I cancelled in person over a year ago, only to discover I was still being charged all this time. When I tried again through their website, I only received an automated email and no follow-up. Phone support is worse--after enduring a two-minute automated message, calls repeatedly drop to voicemail, which itself forces you through another long recording before you can leave a message. It feels intentionally designed to discourage customers and block accountability. While the trainers I met during my brief membership were encouraging and professional, the corporate side is the opposite: unresponsive, obstructive, and exploitative. The system seems structured to squeeze money from members rather than support them. I cannot recommend this company and strongly advise others to avoid their services. read more

I have beenOver the years, I've watched as the class schedule has been cut down significantly, and it's become a regular occurrence for classes to be canceled--sometimes four to eight times a month! This has forced members like me to seek alternatives at different studios, which is incredibly frustrating. Ultimately, I decided to cancel my membership at this location and move to #OTF Pleasant Hill, where I hope to find a more stable and supportive environment. In my experience, OTF Concord does not deserve my money. The lack of responsibility from the owner in managing this location is evident, and I cannot recommend this studio to others. As a longtime client of OTF Concord, I have experienced great customer service from the new managers and coaches. The entire studio vibe is high and energetic, with a well supported team at the front desk, and a friendly community. The studio has made vast improvements with the hiring of talented coaches, social marketing promotions , and community events. Staff are always friendly, outgoing, and helpful with any concerns that come up with technical issues (OTF app) or questions about my account ( changes to classes, or late charges). The managers LISTEN and are willing to support the community of OTF'ers to ensure that we have a good experience. While I can see that sometimes people's experience may be different, it is not always the same for the majority of us who are there everyday. I appreciate all of the hard work that the OTF Concord team does to make our workouts fun and to keep us coming back for a hard but enjoyable fitness routine. read more

I started at OTF last summer and this is my home studio. When I first started, it had a lot of room for improvement with coaches, staff and amenities. I've noticed a lot of work in improving those three areas and I'm glad to keep coming back! Coaches like Paul have been great. These are more (verifiably) bold faced lies (supporting coaches who move on and proper coach certifications; are you sure about that?). There's a reason 95% of your coaching staff has quit between your 3 locations. On another note, it's a fun fact that Concord studio started bribing members with a free shirt for a positive Yelp review this week. This is pathetic, desperate and misleading. Almost as pathetic as selectively shutting down OTF social media commenting for posts or groups. You're out of control and the members and your staff are the ones who will continue to suffer until you do something that benefits someone other than yourself. read more

Why reserve a class when your spot will just be given away? I was running 3 mins late to todays 9:30am class and was confused why they weren't taking my name down and were quiet. I asked if the class was full and one of the front desk person said yes and that they waited the 5 min allotted late time before accept walk ins. I literally looked at my phone even more confused and said it's 934, they didn't say anything after that. The other one left to ask the instructor if they can fit me. By the time they were trying to figure it out, I said it's ok. I'll just go. I asked if they can make sure I don't get charged and the same person who lied about waiting the 5 mins late mark was like, "well, obviously.." well excuse me, I'm not sure how this charging system works. But no need to be rude, especially after you tried to lie to me. read more

What a terrible studio! I've been going here since they reopened during the pandemic and compared to the other gyms -- this place is horrible. Pleasant Hill isn't too far, if you want a better workout experience.. I'd recommend going here instead! They also have better sales associates and coaches there. * the water fountain hasn't been working for months. do you realize it is a gym?! how are you going to allow your members to be without water during their workouts. * they forgot to include my birthday on the wall. so rude to exclude your members like that. * i wanted to do a transfer between studios and they canceled my membership instead. pretty ridiculous. They don't really care about their members as much as other studios do! I would definitely not recommend signing up with Concord. You'll be much happier with another home studio. They just care about taking your money here and I get it, it's a business but the other studios exude a sense of community that make you enjoy coming back. Beware of those 5 star ratings as well, they were bribing members with t-shirts to post them. read more

I was a former member of Orangetheory Concord. I signed up and this amazing coach called Laura help me to achieve my goals she was motivational and sweet. Then from the one moment to the next she was no longer there. No explanation given no nothing later on in the year the same trend happened. We fall in love with the coach and then for no apparent reason they're gone. As well as some front staff. I signed up because I love the camaraderie and the support the studio provided. I lost close to 80 pounds at Orangetheory. I had to take a decision of leaving Concord and going to a different studio based on the fact that I saw changes that I did not like. A member does not have to feel uneasy when changes are happening before they're very eyes. During these times you would think an owner would be on top of their business and making sure that their members and their staff are happy and taken care of. In these times it is more important because there are businesses that are closing down. It is a hefty amount to pay to a studio for $179.00 For stupidity to happen. I think the owner has forgotten that this is a people oriented business. You can put down the money, but you also need the members to pay and if you're firing coaches for no particular reason; then there is no reason for us to be paying you. We are paying for qualified coaches not for mediocre ones. I am happy to say that the coaches that you don't want at your studio, are striving at other orangetheory studios. I am happy to say that I no longer belong to Concord because my views don't go with that studio anymore. It's sad to say that but I hope you realize that whatever you're doing is not the right decision. For the people that is reading my review, please don't sign up with Concord. Go to a different Orangetheory. The concept is there and you'll feel happy to belong there. The vision of the creator of Orangetheory is there. The vision of concord is to take your money for 1 level service. Buyer beware. read more

You know I absolutely love OTF and their workouts but I just did not feel very comfortable at this location. My membership was put on a pause for a while because of COVID-19 and I decided to finally go back after a year and chose to go to this Concord location. I had to fill out some forms since it was my first time at that location, but they were just so distracted the whole time while I was at the counter and they didn't really give off a friendly vibe. I also talked to the instructor and one of the staff members after class and they were being SO sales-y with me. Ofc OTF is a business too so I get it but they were just focusing way too much on sales rather than making me feel welcomed and comfortable. The next day I decided to go to the Pleasant Hill location instead and the staff there were wonderful. They seem to really care about their members and are super friendly to everyone. You just feel the difference in the vibe as soon as you walk in. I don't know if I went to the Concord location on a bad day, but I definitely did not have a great first impression of them and will not be going back. read more

This studio is going down hill. I love my group but coaches are leaving, the product I'm paying for is no longer what it was. Managers have been coaching, not to the premium standard we are paying for. We brought a guest and it was a terrible experience. Minimal assistance and zero help during the class. She felt lost. Of course it wasn't a regular coach. The only coaches that still deliver are Jamie, Vicki and Mei-Mei. There is also only 2 front desk folks that are engaged and delivering the customer experience. (Salem and I don't remember the other young woman's name) Trying to hang on due to my workout crew but, I feel my days are limited if any more good coaches leave. read more

Im a huge fan of Orangetheory in general. It's my favorite type of workout! But every once in a while you run into a coach that turns it up an extra notch for you. Coach Keri is a new addition to the Concord fam and Im glad to have the opportunity to workout with her. She's super motivating and attentive when she coaches. This OT separates themselves from the rest with how they treat you as soon as you walk in the door. You get greeted at the front desk by two respectful individuals in Sebastian and Riley. They have such a great staff from the manager to the front desk to the coaches. It's a great environment to be around and when you come in there with goals in mind to work hard this team is definitely the one that backs you with good energy and great attitude. I highly recommend talking to Mackenzie one of the managers and getting yourself into this studio! read more

My cousin has a membership & invited my other cousin, sister, and I to try one of the classes out. PROS: - I really enjoyed the structure of the class. I do like how the workouts are already planned out & the class gets sort of split up so everyone is busy working at their own stations. I think this is good for people who are self conscious about working out around other people or hesitant to try group workouts. - The workouts are different everyday CONS: - I wasn't feeling the music playing it wasn't really motivating or putting me in a mood to go hard during my workout. I'm not sure if it was because of the instructor or just the location. - The instructor during this class also wasn't really clear when we were on the treadmill so I didn't really hit the levels I wanted - They aren't open 24/7 - $$$ read more

I have been a member for 3 months now. This place is super clean, has huge bathrooms and changing rooms and the staff is very nice. I actually met this staff at the Lafayette wine festival, where I signed up for a free class. I was hooked. I have always lived an active lifestyle, but can get lazy when it comes to going to the gym or doing home workouts. I love that I can show up and not have to think about what to do. The trainers lead the class and tell us what to do and will correct form when needed, which I appreciate. It is full body workout and no workout is the same. On your free visit, they explain the splat points, how to use the equipment and pricing. I have visited other locations with co-workers and this is hands down the best location. They know almost everyone's names and you can still rent a heart rate monitor if you forget yours. This is not the case in other locations. The price is not cheap and it actually is very different than what some of my friends pay in other areas, but hey- it is the bay area. So be it they charge more than any other place around. read more

I think we all deserve an explanation as to why 3 of our best coaches left at the same time without an explanation from the Concord studio. We all pay good money to be coached by certified coaches. A huge part of the OTF success is the relationships we all have created with specific coaches, the ones that are no longer there. Many of us are hugely disappointed in the downhill slippery slope that the Concord OTF is sliding into. Whatever the reasons for these decisions have not gone unnoticed. I will not recommend this specific studio to anyone. Being coached by a manager or uncertified person is unacceptable. read more

Unfortunately this studio is not what once was. It is filthy and it does not feel safe. My main concern is that the studio is not clean. I would have thought that with COVID they would take extra care on keeping the studio clean. Bathrooms are so filthy that I won't even go in to wash my hands. Mirrors in the studio have had the same fingerprints for weeks. Additionally, equipment is not being maintained, the screen on Treadmill #12 has been broken for weeks. I hope corporate sees this and all the reviews from concerned members. This studio is giving the OTF brand a bad name. I was very impressed with how the front desk welcomed me in, how clean the studio is, and how the coaches delivered an amazing workout. The coaches went above and beyond to motivate, Instruct, and correct form in the weight room. I would highly recommend this location for a great work out with a friendly staff. read more

I really do like the workouts and I only have one complaint and it is really a pet peeve and just wrong. Prior to Covid you would get to the gym a bit early if you wanted to start on a specific piece of equipment. Now with every other equipment blocked off you really need to be there about 15 minutes before class if you have a strong preference on where you want to start. What is very frustrating is when you stand in line for 15 minutes and individuals ahead of you are allowed to sign in their friends who are in the back of the line. This happens consistently with the same few members. To be fair they should only allow you to sign in for yourself with no exceptions as this is why many members get there early and stand in line. A lot of members know each other yet they don't ask anybody ahead of them to check them in because we know that's not right! read more

Years ago, I moved from San Francisco to DC, but I frequently make trips back to the East Bay to visit family. I always purchase 10 or 20-packs, so that I can get a great workout in while I'm there. I've been to several Orangetheory's, but there is something special about this one. The staff (front desk and coaches) are always so friendly and helpful. Anytime I have questions about policies, classes, or schedules, the staff responds quickly and in a helpful manner (they're happy to explain anytime policies change, which I really appreciate). I've taken classes with Sami, Brad, Hunter, Jamie, Megan, and Sandee - and every single coach has been wonderful. I highly recommend this location, and Orangetheory as a whole! read more

I had been trying for about 4 months to cancel membership after a knee injury. They told me I had to come in to cancel, and even after explaining how difficult that was with the injury, they still would not cancel over the phone. I eventually was able to get to the gym (on crutches, with a brace, and my mother driving me), explained the situation to the ladies behind the desk. I got there BEFORE the next months bill, and they assured me I was canceled and I would not be charged for the upcoming month. I actually WAS charged and when I called to explain again my situation, money was tight now that I have been out of work on disability, and that I needed the refund, the lady was VERY rude and hung up on me! I still have not received a refund, and I feel the lady I spoke to could have been just a little sympathetic and professional and a business should NEVER hang up without saying anything at the end of the call. Something along the lines of...:I'm sorry this happened, I will look into into..."have a nice day, good bye"...ANYTHING...! read more

Not welcoming. On 5/11, I came in to sign up to become a member. When I asked to use the bathroom first, they said "sorry you are not a member." I was going to explain that my son really had to use the restroom before I could begin to register and become a paying customer. However, the coldness and the response made me change my mind quickly. The bathrooms were open and within 1 foot of the front desk and the place was pretty empty. read more
