    Steak Sandwich
    Timo R.

We stopped by at this diner for work lunch. They have quite a bit of sandwiches, wraps, etc. I had their steak sandwich and it was amazing! The steak was tender like the ciabatta bread and it blended together amazingly. We also got ice cream to go and the staff definitely hooked us up good! A lot better food than I thought!

Fast. Fun. Flavorful. Founded in 1932 and still has that old time vibe. Huge selection of burger joint fare, and an impressive selection of ice cream, served as huge portions. Sit at the counter or at a picnic table, or in a retro dining room, and enjoy.

Delicious grilled chicken and crispy real onion rings were prepared carefully and delivered to our table after ordering at the counter. High quality and great service. On the downside, they need to use bigger, better rolls as the standard roll for their burgers. As good as the beef might be, it's sad when it all falls apart when you pick it up! If you know in advance, I guess you can ask for a hard roll.

Better. Up'd review a star. Service a little better. I can tell the owner is making a difference. Burger was good. Piece of ham was small. Used to hang over the burger. Fries good, onion rings great.

Meh. Grew up coming here once a summer and it was amazing. Super underwhelming and a little disappointing with the new ownership. Menu prices don't match what's on the wall (it's expensive) a ton of flies inside, and the food wasn't good. The service was friendly though. Bring cash to avoid the ATM fees since the do not accept cards. Cute spot to stop for ice cream but won't be coming here for a meal again.

Good roadside hamburger/ ice cream stand with indoor seating available. Burgers are decent, fries are usually nice and hot but today they were just warm and the ketchup tasted funny (? like vinegar). It's definitely a nostalgic & iconic drive in, and worth the visit as you're traveling route 104 or staying in town.

Greasy goodness!!! Loved watching the workers slide around the floor with all the grease on the floor. Definitely brought back memories. The Empire burger hit the spot and the Zweigle's white was great with meat sauce. Onion wings were nice and crispy. Don't miss the dollar hot fudge sundae.

I am not sure why people complain about this place. It is a great burger joint. It is a drive out on 104. For us it is well worth the drive. It's not gourmet or 5 star dining. It is family food. The burgers are great. The fried clam strips are crunchy . The fries are hot and crispy. The fried mushrooms are one of my favorites. The best were the bar b que beans. To top it off my daughter had two scoops of chocolate ice cream. The scoops were so large it broke the cone. To top it off they have started a service where you can buy a meal for someone who can't afford it and they will put the receipt on a board for those in need. Hopefully, it won't be taken advantage of by the idiots of this world.

The food was OK but the price was really high for the quality we got. The drinks were lukewarm and one of them was wrong. The gravy fries were good and the portion was big. The burger was OK. The meat was a bit thin and greasy. The bun had trouble holding up to the grease and tomato juices. My boyfriends onion rings looked tasty but seemed a little overcooked. Two burgers, one onion ring, one gravy fry, one small fountain drink and one medium fountain drink were $34. They were short staffed, which happens. But the majority of the tables in the dining room were not clean and there were a number of flies coming in through the entrance. Seating options outside are nice.

A classic roadside drive in. The chopped steak burger was good. If you happen to be on NY 104 in the Williamson area, stop in.

Dirty place. Not good air conditioning. Terrible service. Gives the word greasy spoon a new level. Prices are not that great either.

Lots of flies, but authentic and excellent flavor. Very good! Love that it hasn't changed much since the 1930! Would recommend!

This time, my partner and I went to celebrate his 50th Birthday. The hostess let us pick if we wanted to sit in or outside and we chose outside (inside was pretty cold with the air conditioning on- and I tend to like cold, so bring a sweater just in case if you check out this place). We were sat at a table with a beautiful view of the golf course. Food: For an appetizer we tried the Eggplant Stack (or Eggplant Tower) and although all of the ingredients were good and very fresh, it was extremely cold because of the mozzarella and tomato slices. We both would have preferred it with only the tomato sauce, minus the tomato slices and cooked a little after applying the mozzarella so it would be served hot. We both ordered the queen-cut prime rib with a baked potato. My partner had the salad it comes with and I substituted the salad for coleslaw (if you like coleslaw try theirs, it absolutely delicious!). The prime rib was really good, the baked potato could have been a little less cooked and warmer when it came out to us- but overall a delicious meal. For dessert, I brought in a small cake earlier that day to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday and the staff was more than accommodating- they even brought out the cake lit and helped sing to him. Staff is all so friendly and kind. Highly recommend giving Pub on the Green a try.

While it is located in a 1800s-era building, the "saltbox" in its name actually refers to its method of curing more than 15 varieties of bacon, one of the specialties of the establishment at 6152 Barclay Road in Sodus, the former home to the Heluva Good! Country Store. The deli/restaurant is a dream fulfilled for the husband-and-wife team of James and Sara Wheaton. The pair enjoyed spending time together in the kitchen and started cooking for large events such as her sister's wedding. With supporters encouraging them to take their cuisine to the next level, they hunted for a place to house a restaurant for more than a year. Finally, the building off Route 104 struck a chord. The eatery serves as both deli and restaurant. Cured and smoked meats, such as bacon, smoked turkey, pastrami and pork loin, can be ordered on their own from the counter. Bacon comes in 15 flavors including apple bourbon, garlic, maple and horseradish. My wife and I recently stopped into the Saltbox on a whim while in the area, after passing the sign for them many times in between trips to Rochester. Small building, and there were already a couple customers there at right around noon on a Saturday. You order at the counter, then sit at one of the 6-8 tables they have in the nicely renovated building, and they bring you your food. They have daily specials, and this days were burnt ends. We both ordered sandwiches - my wife ordered the "On Top of Old Smokey", a sandwich with smoked cheesy meatballs on a sub roll, with a spicy tomato sauce and provolone, served with chips, and I went with the Steakhouse Sandwich, a sandwich filled with brisket, bacon, spicy pickles, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a roll, and I swapped out the chips for a side of bacon mac and cheese for an upcharge. We also got a 1/4 lb of the burnt ends to try. The dining area filled up quickly, but our food was brought pretty quickly. We really enjoyed our sandwiches, especially the meatballs which had a great flavor. The mac and cheese was bland, but I have yet to find good mac and cheese at a restaurant in CNY. But the star were the burnt ends - absolutely bursting with flavor, straight up meat candy. Wife and I could've made a meal just outta those. The price is comparable to other BBQ places. The service was fine - employees weren't exactly enthused to be there. No one was rude or anything, but we almost got the feeling we were being bothersome to them, but could've been an off day. We would definitely go back to try other stuff, or just for them burnt ends.
