We did a hike at Chimney Bluffs and then stopped here on the way back for some serious energy. A cheeseburger and milkshake was exactly what I needed. This restaurant is ran by teenagers and they do a PHENOMENAL job. They have an organized system to get your order and food to you with little wait time. They are trying to work around covid by putting numbers on the counter that are spaced and customers are supposed to go to an open spot when available. Eh, it's a great idea in theory. In actuality people come in with their families so a group is often taking up a number. The workers are doing a nice job by actually also delivering food to outside tables. These kids really are doing amazing all in mask and no air condition. They alone are a reason to come back. I ordered a black raspberry milkshake and it was perfect. Along our route we caught this spot and initially passed on by in search of grub a little closer to home. However, our favorite travel truck (inside story about CR England trucks) was parked out front, so we figured it was fate and turned around! Love the atmosphere of this drive-in! Once inside find yourself greeted by friendly staff, and a large bar seating area, keeping things casual and fun. Large menu, something for everyone! Delicious milkshakes, even in the off season when the flavor list is significantly cut down. Enjoyed a cheeseburger plate this visit. If you came here for the ice cream, you probably made a better choice than I did. I obviously have a different opinion that the majority of people, but the burger I had was the most bland one I think I've ever tasted- you could barely see it between the buns, and it was so small I think the top bun was actually touching the bottom one. On top of that I didn't find the service to be very good at all, but maybe it's to be expected when the servers are kids on summer break. I also need to mention that they do not have free refills on soda. This is a new trend for a handful of restaurants since there is so much profit to be made on soda. Always curious to try out this drive in, as it has been around for over 75 years, I decided to stop in and have a quick lunch recently. Yes, I was surprised that they were open in December, but they do have indoor dining and ordering areas, so they are able to be open year round. I went up to the counter, quickly helped by the staff and ordered a Drive-In Burger, which is your classic greasy burger, a generous helping of cheese, bacon, grilled onions and tomatoes. Yes, if you want extra toppings, you are charged more, but I didn't feel that I needed anything else, as this burger was quite tasty as it comes. Orbaker's is your pretty standard roadside greasy-spoon burger joint. But perhaps this one has a bit more history than most. I haven't ever been in here when it's busy, so I can't really comment as to how the service gets at those times, but I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes before being attended to. The food's about what you'd expect; lots of burgers and hots and similar fare; it's not spectacularly good, but it's inexpensive and certainly a step up from the fast-food chains. If you walk in here expecting gourmet cooking (though I don't know why you would, seeing as the place definitely doesn't look the part, inside or out), I don't know what to tell you. But Orbaker's been there a very long time, which is usually a good sign. It's definitely worth stopping in if you're passing through on 104, rather than going to the next McDonald's you find. read more

I've been coming to Orbakers a few times a year most of my life. And they keep getting better. The food is is great and the people are excellent. Last week I brought my 98-year-old mother in for lunch and she left a wrist brace behind. I hadn't been here in years and was so excited to be in the area and stop in to get dinner to take out. There was one other customer at the counter. I waited at the counter for at least 10 minutes before I was waited on. Several staff were milling about but no one acknowledged my presence. I understand it was Friday night about 6 but I would expect someone to acknowledge that I was there waiting and let me know they'd be with me soon. I should have just walked out at that point but I didn't for whatever reason. I finally ordered - a cheeseburger and fries - fries well-done. My total was $12 something but they don't take credit cards so I had to go to the ATM and pay a $2.75 fee to get cash. I thought about not paying the fee and just leaving at this point but I had already ordered so I felt like I needed to stay and get my order. I waited for my food for about 15 more minutes. Finally got my order and it was wrong. They got it backwards. The cheeseburger was well done and the fries were barely cooked. I asked for the fries to be cooked more. They did that. The food was ok - not great, and definitely not the fabulous food I remember getting there in the past. While visiting Williamson, we stopped into Orbaker's because it looked inviting from the outside and we were in the mood for ice cream. We walked into the place, and it was an old diner from 1932. We ordered an ice cream cone and a chocolate shake. It was truly the worst ice cream I've ever had. I'm not even sure how you can go wrong with ice cream! I think it may have been because the ice cream tasted like it had been around since 1932. The counter was filthy with food and sticky. It wasn't busy when we were there, so the counters should have been cleaned when the last customers left. My husband was disappointed with his shake which was made with soft serve ice cream. When you pay $4 for a small shake, you expect the real thing, but spending $4 on old, odor - absorbed ice cream is even worse. This place is catchy. When you drive past it, your eyes and your memory are drawn to something from the past. Orbaker's is your charming fifties decor, with the slamming screen doors and a dining area that's reminiscent of the past. I liken myself to a hotdog connoisseur, and Zweigle's passed my taste bud inspection. I was thrilled with the taste. To order your own Zweigle's hotdog, there is a separate area (the lefthand entrance) where there is just a wrapped around open counter where you place an order. I admit it was a bit odd, but I think it worked out just fine. We were served quickly. On the righthand entrance is the dining area with many booths and tables to choose from. The waiter or waitress you order from brings your food to your table. I think it's quite charming and for this type of place, I find it pretty neat that they do that. A+ for service. Their menu options were vast. I kept eyeing up the long list of milkshakes but never followed through. I think I need to go back and try something new. If you're ever in the area, stop by. I had the Blue Cheese Burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. I went with my parents and my grandmother, and there were many other families there so I would say this is a fantastic place for groups of larger size. Food is ok. Tough to mess up a hotdog but the rolls always seem stale to me. Love the hotdogs though. Prices very high. 1 hotdog with mustard and onion and fries and a coke was over $12. I think for the locals it's more of a tradition to take the fam here. I want even going to review however one kid cooking , and he made it very clear to everyone in the place while he was yelling at the waitress that all he does is cook burgers! No set up!!!! Felt bad for the girl waitressing because he was a total asshole and she likely will have to put up with this DB all night. You don't air your dirty laundry in front of a restaurant full of customers! Personally I didn't think he should be talking like that to her or anyone else for that matter.
