Ore House is hands down the best steakhouse experience we've ever had. We showed up as soon as they opened since they were booked out. We were immediately greeted and sat. Literally every person, from the hostess, to bartenders, wait staff and manager acknowledged us and made sure our entire experience was flawless. The cocktails were uniquely served and delicious! Incredibly reasonable as well. The house corn bread, steaks, sauces (we tried 5 of them and all were amazing), mushrooms and mac and cheese with pork belly were spot on. We ended our meal with their crème brûlée which was the cherry on top of the entire evening. We will be back when we're in town again!

14oz Ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes and corn bread with a coke $102! With tax.

Service was very top notch! Food was good just not very filling. Fresh bread would go a ling ways to improve meal. Two of us shared a 14 oz Ribeye, garlic potatoes, green salid and a no refill Coke - $102 with tax! Corn bread only. Full bar. Street parking only. Very small bathrooms. I feel over rated.

18oz Delmonico Ribeye with chimichurri sauce and peppercorn sauce. Paired with the sautéed mushrooms.

I came here with my fiancée to celebrate our recent engagement. We were here on vacation and wanted a nice place to celebrate. To say we were satisfied is a true understatement! The food, the flavors, the service, and the atmosphere were absolutely incredible. From our hostess telling us congrats multiple times, to the champagne as a celebration from the house, and to our server Dan, thank you! Truly a memorable experience and we will definitely be back on our next visit to Durango!

Date of visit was 09/03/22. Man oh Manachevitz, was this a great call? Hell YEAH! From hostess Bekah to server Siarraha to the chef. Everything was excellent. Just what one expects of a fine dining restaurant. Ambiance is very relaxing and decor is pure southwestern. We started with complimentary Vespers martinis. We're not big on gin but damn these were so good we paid for two more. Entrees were a corn salad for the wife and the surf and turf for me. We loved everything. Perfect salad with goat cheese. Perfect filets, lobster, crab, mashed potatoes with demi glace and mixed sauteed mushrooms. Sauces were ranch and blue cheese. My wife enjoyed the mashed potatoes so much she said the next time we dine here that's one item she will have. Next came the complimentary dessert wine, a cabernet, not sure of the name, but it was also good so we bought two more. Great accompaniment to the creme brulee. All in all, the perfect meal to end the perfect last night in Durango. Highly recommend and will return.

This is a MUST-TRY steakhouse when your in Durango. It's not only delicious, it's an experience! Every item that touched our table was divine. The drinks, appetizers and entrees were beautifully served. The ambiance was everything perfect and intimate. The staff and server treat you like royalty and our dining standards just went up several notches after Ore House.

Ryan, the owner of the Ore House greeted us outside and the entire staff really made us feel special for our 49th Anniversary celebration. Ian, was our terrific waiter and flawless server. Each course and the pacing of the evening was perfection. We loved all our selections and the flavor combinations and cooking techniques were top notch in this unique gem of a steakhouse. Thank you Ryan for keeping up the ambiance of this unique establishment we have loved since 1972. Looking forward to our next celebration we felt pampered

A+++ What a fantastic meal! This place is pricey but well worth it. We started with the west coast oysters and wedge salad. Oysters were fresh and briney and the salad was an incredibly elevated steak house wedge ( pork belly crumbles, fried onions, etc). For the main we shared a perfectly cooked medium rare 10 oz filet, skillet corn bread, grilled asparagus w/hollandaise and roasted parsnips with a spicy harissa sauce. This was such a delicious dinner with lots of leftovers. The service was impeccable. They take reservations. I highly recommend!

Visiting my son and daughter-in-law, they took us out for our 40th wedding anniversary. Knowing that we love a good steakhouse, they picked the Ore House. And they chose well!!! Update: Didnt realize that I never finished my review. We just went back to Ore House this past weekend. Like the first time, this little gold nugget of a restaurant located in Durango does not disappoint!!! We had the same server as the first visit. I'm sorry I can't remember her name. But she was delightful!!! Our meal started with the delicious corn bread. Next course was Ceasar salad. We shared a Tomahawk Steak and Twin lobster tails as our main and sides were Brussels sprouts, asparagus, corn... For dessert we had the S'mores, Apple Crisp and 4 spoons... SOOOO DELICIOUS!!! Looking forward to getting back here when we visit again!!!

I can't find any flaw with my meal at Ore House. The food is incredible, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of an old-time steakhouse. My husband and I shared: wedge salad, French onion soup, ribeye, lobster tail, creamed corn, mac and cheese, and mushrooms. The mushrooms were surprisingly good- fresh, buttery, cooked perfectly. I was celebrating my birthday, and they gave me Ore house glasses as a gift. Overall, this was an excellent meal and I would go back next time I am in the area!

fresh radish salad with avocado crema and passionfruit butter

A priceless experience! Where to begin?! From the moment you walk in: attentive staff, beautiful atmosphere, museum quality southwest artwork, smells permeating every crevice. A premiere spot and hidden gem in Durango and a MUST for any visitor to the area or local alike. We have dined at the Ore House many times (pre-pandemic) and I was anxious and excited to see what changes they had brought to the menu after the re-open... I don't even know where to begin. The guests we were hosting compared their dining experience only to that of a Michelin restaurant in Marseille! Our experience: Sia, our professional server, welcomed us promptly and warmly. A 'hello' from the more-than-entertaining Mark the bartender brought crisp martinis and Rose by the glass. We opened our meal with FRESH grilled octopus and LOCAL oyster mushrooms complimented by beautiful sauces and presentation. 2nd course brought fresh cornbread, an EXQUISITE radish salad with avocado crema and passionfruit butter paired with (of course) the house made french onion soup. A quick interlude of local whiskey aged in a sherry cask (hello, WOW). Dinner: a beautiful platter of crab, lobster, a NY, ribeye, and filet coupled with a couple excellent side dishes were more than enough for all of us to share. Ian, the floor manager and knowledgeable wine connoisseur, brought a few bottles of wine to choose from, explaining each in great detail and how they might pair well with our dinner. We found the perfect taste and price point to top off our already magnificent meal. Don't even get me started on the toasted s'mores and strawberry shortcake to round out our experience. In this day and age, after spending a year and a half in doors, this was such a TREAT. Each staff member came by the table at least once to explain, check in, or aid in the delivery of the meal. We were so impressed by the entire experience, I couldn't wait to get home and write a lengthy review. If you've read this far, what are you waiting for?! Book your table and indulge. Life is a culinary experience and Reagan, Ryan, Ian, Mark and the whole Ore House staff work flawlessly to deliver a world class experience! You guys have really taken it to the next level in EVERY well thought out detail, thank you SO much!

Surf n turf, oysters and the desperado drink will be something worth coming back for!!

Great food, relaxed Western atmosphere. Too bad the location has since burned. There do not appear to be plans to rebuild.

what is there to say about this place?…read more i personally have never eaten anything here EXCEPT their bakery goods which were superb, best in town, hands down. Every morning they seem to have a wide selection of freshly baked pastries, good coffee, big smiles and a beautiful building. She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.

I love buttery Chardonnays and Rombauer may be among the best I have had, it reminded me of the award-winning Château Montelena, Chardonnay. For those of you who have never seen the movie Bottle Shock, watch it, It's a wonderful lesson in wine history. I'm definitely buying some Rombauer for my personal collection when I return to Vegas. My appetizer was a tasty peppery kick calamari dish. The kick wasn't too bad for you non spicy folks. The dish was light and crispy just how great calamari should be. Then came the branzino. I do not eat the skin of fish typically, but this dish was to tasty and the skin was the perfect level of crispy. The branzino and the wine went so well together, I was eating my desert early. The flavors popped in my mouth. At this point I was done but my amazing waiter Tyler did ask if I wanted to see the desert Menu and since I thought if the rest of the food was this delicious why not. I ended up ordering the white chocolate cheesecake. OH MY GOD, it melted in my mouth. The cheesecake wasn't overly rich but it was smooth, definitely fresh. The berries and the whipped cream balanced it out and that cheesecake didn't stand a chance. As a foodie from Las Vegas, I have been to a numerous amount of amazing restaurants. I cannot express my surprise at finding seasons here in Durango. This is definitely going to be one of my go to restaurants every time I visit this beautiful town. From the moment I walked through the door to the time that I left the service the food and the ambience was simply perfect. I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys great service and even better food. Take a bow Chef, you have a new fan. From Vegas with love!
