Picked up 2 pizzas at the window and they were so delicious. My favorite was the fig goat cheese prosciutto pizza. The ingredients were super fresh and the dough was perfect. They're sliced into four and about 12" big so they're on the smaller side for the price but the quality and taste of a Neapolitan style pie makes it worth the occasional splurge. read more

This place is NOT Italian.....and would not recommend it to anyone. I came here a couple wks ago with my husband and we ordered a pizza with prosciutto and chicken with a big piece of tomato and fresh mozzarella on top with GF pasta on the side. The sauce they used for my pasta was the same sauce they used for the pizza. REALLY?!?! Clearly this place doesnt know anything about how to make pizza. Lets move on to the service. So we sat right by the kitchen. The cooks would taste the food with their hands, which is unreal to see. Next, one of the delivery people had 2 pizzas that almost fell so he opened the pizza boxes and with his bare dirty hands fixed the pizza toppings, moved the pizza in the box, closed it and delivered it!!!!!!! GROSS!!! Next, we see the manager reach for food over 2 salads and his arm pit was all over the salads below it! Easily my new favorite Italian spot in Brooklyn. Intimate and charming with a great ambiance and amazing food. Great for a date or family meal. We walked in at 8pm on a Friday night, and were able to sit down right away with no wait. Our waitress Rena took great care of us the whole night. We started off with a fine (and reasonably priced!) bottle of red wine and the mussels appetizer. They waited to serve us our bread until they brought out the steamed mussels, and instructed us to dip the bread in the spicy marinara sauce that sat under the mussels -- it was so tasty we started to eat the sauce with a spoon once the bread was gone! Their wood fired pizzas are delicious, but we opted for the handmade pasta dishes. I got the shrimp fettuccine alfredo (which Rena accurately described as heavenly -- the rich homemade cream sauce was to die for). My date, who struggles to find suitable gluten-free options at most Italian restaurants, went with the sausage cavatelli, which she described as phenomenal. The food was so good that despite us being full, we HAD to go with a dessert. Word of advice -- just go for it and GET THE NUTELLA PIZZA DESSERT. Just do it. Check this place out! It has a warm vibe, good interior with vintage-looking oil lamps on tables, etc. The place is clean and quiet, which is a rare find for NYC restaurants. However, the food was not tasty. Very plain and dry meat. Even their extremely thin pizza had raw dough inside instead of a nice crust. My husband and I live two blocks away. We decided to give Oregano a try and so we walked over to order take out for dinner. We ordered a pizza and they gave it to us COLD.... not warm, but cold. This is on a hot July day. There is no way the pizza pie went cold during the two block walk home. We think they gave us their leftover pie from earlier in the day, or even possibly from last night. Oregano!! What can I say about this small intimate place where they have the best wood fire pizza. Wine and pizza goes so good. But first let me tell you. I went there for my friends 50th birthday. When I first walked in I was like I'm loving the exposed brick walls and decor was just perfect for the place. They made the perfect sized pizza and wood fire at that. I seriously couldn't stop eating all different kinds of pizza that was coming to the table. Not only do they sell pizza but they also sell other Italian dishes. It USED to be very difficult for me to decide what to eat when i was in Williamsburg because of all of the options. Not anymore, Oregano is the absolute best choice you can make when you are in that area of Brooklyn. From the appetizers, to the pizza, to the pasta, the wine selection and the dessert everything was 10/10. First of all, I just want to say the service was absolutely impeccable, I truly felt at home and welcome my first time there. The best way for me to describe the food is as though you visited a fine dining Italian restaurant, you get the exact same quality, same exquisite taste and experience but for the Brooklyn price. Their pasta is home made and you can really taste all the attention to detail and the love that these people put into their food. My friends and I were headed out the 'schwick for a friend's birthday party and wanted to find a place to eat dinner ahead of time. I should note that it was super cold and right after a snowstorm--this friend was probably one of 5 people that I would have ventured out in that type of weather for. Especially since I had had a NIGHT the night before, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I suggested to my friends that we go to dinner in a neighborhood we don't normally venture, and I ended up checking out the "hottest" lists for Williamsburg and this showed up. It was a great option because one of us is vegetarian (me), one is gluten free, and one is a super picky eater. We also thought it would be BYOB--it no longer is. We get there and are told it would be a short wait. It ended up being about 30 minutes, but the food looked so good and the weather outside was frightful, so we waited it out. Eventually, I asked a server for water, and let me tell you, that water made all the difference. When we sat down, we ordered a bottle of Malbec, which was so great we ended up ordering two. Let's be honest, even if it was just mediocre we would have ordered two. We started with the burrata, prosciutto on the side. The burrata was absolutely delicious, and that balsalmic drizzle...damn. I ordered the artichoke pizza, which was really delicious. One of my friends ordered something that came with the homemade pasta, so I got to try that and it was just fantastic. My other friend ordered the prosciutto pizza on a GF crust, which she loved (she ate a lot of prosciutto that night). The pasta friend also ordered dessert, I don't remember what, but he loved it. Came here with some friends and left disappointed. The first thing was that the service was painfully slow. The time between ordering the appetizers and getting them was very long. When we got the bruchetta it was nothing more than some toasted soft bread with some store bought tomatoes on it. Not sure why that took so long. We got a pasta dish with sauce and the sauce was completely bland. It no seasoning whatsoever. Ended up adding my own salt and pepper to make it taste better. We were a table of 6 and ordered various pizzas for everyone to share. The pizza came in slices of 4... other than that the pizza was actually excellent. The difference is that there is a separate person making the pizza from the kitchen that makes everything else. Third thing was that I asked for a bowl of sauce on the side and they wanted to charge for it. I do think I've ever been told that I'd have to pay extra for a bowl of sauce in an Italian restaurant. Perhaps it's just me being a jerk and if so then so be it. However I think that's ridiculous. The desserts we're excellent. Bottom line is if you go here for dinner just get the pizza, drinks and desert. And don't show up here too hungry because the turn around between ordering and actually getting the food is excruciating. read more

I always get the squid ink pasta and it's always phenomenal especially for NYC pricing. The squid ink pasta is in a tomato based sauce with a decent amount of seafood including squid, shrimp, clams and mussels. Delicious pasta and no wait for brunch on the weekend! A charming family-owned Italian restaurant with old-school charm, a brick pizza oven and great pasta! We came here on a weekend for brunch and were seated right away. I had a glass of the Prosecco, which I liked, and the Squid Ink fettuccini with shrimp, mussels and calamari. The pasta was perfect and very flavorful with a spicy marinara sauce on top. My boyfriend had the margherita pizza which he said was a little soggy and not as crispy as he would have liked. We ordered a margarita pizza--very simply made tomato sauce and drops of mozzarella. I've been living in ny for 4 years now, and haven't ever tasted a pizza like this. Very soft and doughy tasting, but incredibly thin. Very yummy! My husband ordered a chicken parm that came with homemade pasta and marinara. and I ordered a cesar salad with grilled shrimp. Everything made simply but very tasty. We brought our two babies and we're allowed to keep our stroller next to the table, and our server kept the water and napkins coming. I finally got a chance to go back, this time with my son. Shared the meat/cheese appetizer along with a pizza and mussels -- excellent on all of them, especially the prosciutto which had a wonderful smokiness to it. We had two of the super homemade pastas, fettuccine alfredo (wonderful but a bit rich for my taste) and spaghetti carbonara (the best version of this I've ever had). You won't need to order as much as we did but you will NEED to order appetizers because the pasta servings are modest. The prices are modestly high, the space a little tight and the service on the slow side so sticking with 4 stars. But you will absolutely have a delicious meal here. read more

I was coming here with friends who were running 10-15 minutes late and the staff would not seat us until they got here despite the fact I promised we would ordered enough food and appetizers to make it worth their while. They are no longer BYOB and (in my opinion) are acting on the assumption that everyone wants to come to their restaurant because of their casual atmosphere and excellent good. Oh my GOD! This place is INCREDIBLE!!! I don't know if they have this special all the time, but I got the buratta spaghetti - HOLY $&*# this was delicious! The fresh pasta mixed with tomatoes, tasty olive oil, and then fancy buratta cheese had me licking my plate at the end. I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you're looking for good pasta in the area. The portions are pretty light for the price - you're likely not going to have any leftovers. The *only* thing I didn't like about this place was the bread they give you at the beginning. It was some weird garlic naan kinda of tasting bread. My boyfriend isn't a very adventurous eater so when he picked another pizza place to check out I was kind of like great he's picking another pizza place that's exactly the same as every other pizza place. Wrong!! I really love Oregano, the décor is very adorable and the outside patio is just the greatest thing ever. Not to mention it's covered so if it rains you won't be getting wet. Besides pizza they have some Italian dishes as well as a few salads. The drinks are reasonably priced as well as the food. I've had the spinach salad a few times here, I add salmon to it and it's great!! Such a nice summer salad and an excellent combo of fruits and veggies. I've also had the Fig, Goat Cheese and Proscuitto Pizza. Now that's a great pizza it's different without being over the top and it's the perfect blend of different flavors. They also give you bread and some olives to start off with, which I love. If you're in the neighborhood give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more
