Super lovely people, delicious food this restaurant! Colorful and greenery good atmosphere inside. It was rainy day but Candice delighted us with awesome service. She is so friendly and talked to us their special of the day. We had couple beers and ordered Napoli pizza and Fried artichoke! It was really tasty and great potions. Concrete is pretty amazing. The Burrata with mixed greens, cabbage and cherry tomatoes was great. The fried artichokes were also very good. The Skirt Steak was good but I really liked the Pesto. The presentation of it was also pretty awesome! The Cannoli was amazing! It was the star of the show. It was small but I am not complaining at all. It was a great item to eat! The staff was awesome and the chef came to the table to discuss the food. This place is an underated gem. read more

I've visited Concrete a handful of times over the last few years and I've consistently left happy and well fed - even as a vegan. I typically order an eggplant based dish here. The biggest difference between here and most restaurants is the service. The owners are extremely kind, they remember who you are and explain everything to you on the menu verbally, it feels like a family style restaurant. I love the ambience and I can't wait to go back! read more

Dynamite! We were served by the owners and they were absolutely wonderful. The menu is crazy good. Especially for what is essentially a pizza place, but calling it that isn't fair. It's really easy to walk by this building by mistake and not realize it's there, but you would be really missing out. It's a real hidden gem and a wonder vibe once you get i side. read more

This amazing place came highly recommended and it delivered. Service, cuisine, atmosphere, literally checks every box! The fried artichoke starter was such a move. I generally like artichokes, but I've never had them prepared like this! The mint mayo was a tasty dipper. The pasta here is fantastically silken and fresh made. I have the crab puttanesca. I love seafood pasta, red sauce, and lots of capers - what could be better? My dining partner got the gamberi e pistacchio. Love a shrimp forward dish, especially with an interesting pistachio pesto. A really interesting texture and flavor - I kept asking for more bites! The service here really is fantastic and the owner and head chef comes over and checks on you whether you're and the bar for drinks or dining in, it's such a welcoming and amazing neighborhood place. read more

This is a really cute neighborhood bar/restaurant with fun decor that is great for going out with friends or for a night out with the girls! The service is beyond phenomenal which I value so highly in any New York restaurant to be honest--not always the easiest thing to find. The food was unfortunately just...fine. I ordered their most popular menu item: the Ragu. There was barely any sauce, minimal flavor and seasoning, and the noodles were undercooked. I'm not going to lie--it was disappointing. My drink was their spin on a Manhattan and was a bit on the sweet side and a little unbalanced in my opinion. My husband got the Pomodoro Bucatini Special which was delicious and full of flavor however. The difference in our meal quality and the amazing service make me want to come back and give this place another try. It could be that I just ordered the wrong things--or that they were just having an off night. I definitely want to come back and try something different and see if the experience improves. For now I'm giving it 3 stars for the food, but if I were to rate just the service I would be giving it 5. If you come to try it out--maybe just order something other that the Ragu--and definitely check them out when they are having live music! It's a cute spot that I am feeling hopeful to try again. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times and usually have a good experience. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. 1. The restaurant's website says it closes at 9:30 pm, but when I arrived on Nov 1st, 2024, at 8:55 pm, I was told I couldn't dine in because they were letting the chef go home early. I had no issue taking my food to go, especially since I'd enjoyed my previous visits. 2. I ordered two pasta dishes--the ragu and the carbonara--both of which I'd had before and knew what to expect. However, when I got home with my order, the quality wasn't the same: * The pasta in the ragu was thick, chewy, gummy, and even had some hard pieces. * The carbonara pasta was also gummy, and the cheese was extremely thick and heavy. 3. I tried calling the restaurant, but they had already closed, so I sent a message on Instagram with all the details. I wanted to give them a chance to resolve the issue before leaving a public review. Their response was: "Thank you for reaching out about your concern. What you were served last night is our new pasta, which has been in production, in-house, for the last month or so. What you consider 'gummy' is just the texture of pasta Fresca, as opposed to the dry pasta we used before. I hope this resolves your concern. Moving forward, that's the pasta you will always find at the restaurant." While I appreciate the reply, it felt dismissive rather than helpful. 4. I'm familiar with pasta Fresca, and the texture here was likely due to poor preparation or technique. Some common issues that can cause a gummy, chewy texture include: * Undercooking the pasta * Using too little water * Over-kneading the dough * Improper resting time * Incorrect flour-to-egg ratio * Not salting the water enough If this is the quality they consider acceptable, I can't recommend this place for pasta anymore. read more

Get here immediately. Truly the best everything! The best service, the best food, and an awesome ambiance filled with personal touches. I had a taste for a good carbonara pasta and turned to Google and Yelp. Concrete has really high marks on both, so I decided to give it a try. Francesco's carbonara is the best I have ever had. The pasta was perfectly al dented, and the dish was prepared the traditional way, with egg yolk. What an outstanding, rich, and substantial dish. Additionally, a pizza oven has been installed, so I got super lucky and was able to try a slice. Oh, and let me not forget the DESSERT. Tiramisu and fresh, handmade canolli. My goodness, can you say FOODIE HEAVEN! What's wild is. beyond the food, Francesco and his wife won my heart with their warm hospitality and beautiful family stories. Was in nyc last weekend for my birthday and used Yelp to find this place. We didn't have high expectations especially looking at it from the outside but the inside was so charming! The floors are indeed concrete so I was a bit cold inside. The service was absolutely amazing, our waitress was super sweet and gave all types of recommendations. I'm not an espresso martini girl but after I had a sip of my friend's, I HAD to get one and it was amazing. I don't drink coffee so this espresso martini didn't have that overpowering coffee taste/feel. I ordered the Norma pasta with meatballs and it was absolutely delicious! I ate the ENTIRE thing - our waitress was actually impressed lol the food portions here are great and everything was so flavorful. My only complaint would be the tiramisu - it was tasty, but small and served in a plastic cup. It just didn't fit in with the presentation of the rest of the items. I would definitely love to come back though and try more things on the menu! read more

I was VERY appalled at my experience at this restaurant today. I'm sitting & enjoying my food when all of a sudden I hear yelling. I look and see that a chef is yelling at a delivery person, telling him to get out of the restaurant because he "f-- stinks!" Cursing at him and everything! Meanwhile, the entire restaurant smells like food, & I sure didn't smell anything bad when he came in, & I was sitting near the entrance. The delivery person was surprised & confused when the chef yelled at him saying that, so the chef continued to try & kick him out, repeating himself, & the delivery person proceeded to verbally defend himself, shooting an insult back at him. The bartender then joined in at yelling at him, also cursing at him telling him to "get the f-- out!" The delivery person asked the bartender if it was rude to tell someone they stink & kick them out, & she replied saying "no, there's guests here." He then left without waiting for the order, which I don't blame him at all for. If he was another type of person, that whole situation could have gone left, which I also wouldn't have blamed him for. The man did not have a stench coming into the restaurant at all, & the chef & bartender were completely out of line for their actions, basically verbally assaulting him. Though I finished my meal, my mood was ruined after witnessing that. You don't treat strangers like that, especially someone delivering the very food that you make & sell! I work in the food service industry, so I'm very disappointed in the establishment as a whole, & turned off as far as possibly returning to eat there. Chefs & bartenders represent the restaurant, aside from servers. DO BETTER. Delivery people are human just like that chef & bartender are, & deserve to be treated kindly & like a damn human. We were left with very sour impression when my boyfriend's credit card was double charged days apart from this establishment. Very shady! I've had Concrete three times now: two dine-in and one takeout experience. All were pretty decent, but I definitely prefer to dine in. My first visit was pre-pandemic. I had the salmon benedict, sweet potato fries, and a cappuccino. They also had (and still have) a free dessert perk if you check in on Yelp. I believe the dessert varies based on what they've made that day. Our server was very friendly, and I really had no complaints about our visit. The sweet potato fries were crispy and excellent. My second dine-in experience was way later, like just the other day. And, like an Alzheimer's patient, I completely forgot I had ordered the salmon benedict last time and got it again. It's a solid entrée but not the best I've ever had. The side salad could definitely use more dressing. It was extremely dry and sparsely flavored. There was next to no hollandaise sauce either, which is the best part of any benedict. The one time I got takeout, I ordered the steak. It was fine. The chimichurri sauce was a little thin and oily, and I actually didn't even really use it after the first taste. It's unfortunate, because I LOVE chimichurri and was really disappointed. It's not something I would order again. Positive points: the restaurant is nice and airy, and the service is always friendly. We live nearby, so we'll probably go back at some point. read more

Do not let the outside fool you. This place is a GEM! Service The service is on point. The servers are very attentive. When we asked for peeper flakes not only did they bring pepper flakes but the spicy oil for us to try and with pasta that oil was delicious Ambiance The inside is beautifully designed and decorated. Came in here for a little quiet birthday celebration for our girl! It was nice because it wasn't busy or too loud. We were the only ones there along with two other customers. We came in just before happy hour ended and ordered some drinks. The daiquiris were so good, definitely hit the spot. The good rush was interesting! The calamari was seasoned and crispy, yummy but way over cooked. The pesto was flavorful and just the right snout of cheese, a bit too much oil. The carbonara was so yummy, shrimp was tender and seasoned, it was a bit heavy- as it should be!! There was more pancetta than we expected, and we were not mad at it in the slightest ! There's 2 Yelp pages for this restaurant... I posted in the one that's just "Concrete" at the same address. But here's my review. LOVE A THIS PLACE!: Wow wow wow! I read about this place and decided to try it out. Francesco (one of the owners) was so great to us... we sat at the bar and started with the Greenpoint and Concrete cocktails (both are riffs on manhattans). We couldn't decide which one we loved more! Then we tried the meatballs. I'm not kidding when I say they are the best we ever had! So light and the sauce is unbelievable! Then we tried the special... a fried pizza dough margarita-style. OMG. Everything is heavenly. Finished with house made tiramisu and cannoli and espresso! Please check this place out! read more

Went to this small restaurant on a Friday evening. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table but was worth the wait and no big deal without a reservation. Only 2 people working but still provided good service. Food was tasty. I wanted a bit more meat in my ragu pasta, but the food was good. So much excitement for the 10+ hour cooked meat, to not enjoy too much of it. The pesto was good too. Would go back! read more

This one was a pickle. I've eaten here twice and both experiences were vastly different. My first time was nice! I sat at the bar with my friend. The bartender is very kind, knowledgeable, and funny! We ordered 2 espresso martinis and they were delicious. Sweet and frothy but still taste like alcohol. For food we had the meatballs and calamari. I liked the meatballs but they needed more salt. The calamari was good but I wasn't a fan of the breading or sauce. My friend liked it though! Now on to my second trip...the food was terrible all the way around. The steak was gross and the chimichurri sauce was odd. The carbonara was so salty I didn't come close to finishing it. Bless our waitress because she asked me 3 times if I wanted to box it up lol. My girl and I were visiting from Boston and had and amazing experience here. The ambiance was chill low lighting, attentive staff from the chef, server, bartender etc. Not once did we have to flag anyone down or ask for water etc. we shared the special margarita pizza, the steak and the lamb couscous. This restaurant has earned a spot on our list of regulars, and it's probably at the top. The food was exceptional, with generous portions. I ordered the ragu, and the rigatoni was cooked perfectly, striking a balance between al dente and soft. I have to mention the meatballs. They are just scrumptious and melt in your mouth. A must have when you come here. My fiancé had the fried chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich was a delightful blend of textures, with red cabbage, pickles, and a soft brioche bun. The fries were delicious and complemented the sauces perfectly, even pairing well with my tiramisu. The tiramisu was so light and fluffy with the perfect balance of coffee and cream. Speaking of tiramisu, it was gifted to us by the restaurant, which brings me to their impeccable service. The food was impressive, but the service at Concrete was unparalleled. From the moment we walked in, Franchesco greeted us with a warm smile. He and the other bartender (I'm sad that I didn't catch her name) were attentive, friendly, and personable. We stumbled upon Concrete while craving Italian food and decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, everything was amazing--the ambiance, the attentive service, and, most notably, the warm hospitality of the husband and wife owners, who made us feel at home. The vibe of the place is great! It is not too big or too small, and the ambiance provides a great dining experience. The food was incredible. My favorite bites of the night were the spicy bruschetta drinking a shot of espresso and following that up with a bit of tiramisu. The pastas were also so lovely and well made. I loved the size of portions of the entrees, and everything tasted phenomenal. I can't wait to keep going back and trying different things on the menu. I think the best part about Concrete had to have been the service. The server and bartender, Francesco, was beyond personable and attentive. We had great conversations with him while being served our food in a timely manner. If anything, he and the other lady behind the bar would be reason enough to go back to Concrete. Who would've known that this place in Bushwick would have some amazing food! The outside might be deceiving but inside you will find an intimate space where you can get some delicious Sicilian dishes. My favorites were the burrata and the panelle and caponata. We walked towards the back of the restaurant passing great art work and sculptures. Once we sat, our server was there to answer all my questions. There"s something for every diet on the menu. I ordered the chicken sandwich and they ordered burgers. My sandwich was topped with cooked onions, tomato, pickles, and a slaw. It was tasty but I would have liked a toasted bun. Seems a bit out of place next to a deli on a residential block. You can kind of miss it if youre not paying attention. We were a party of 6 and had a 5 PM reservation. You have to pass through this dark curtain and go to the middle of the bar where the host will greet you and bring you to your seats. We were seated promptly with no wait. The restaurant is VERY small. So much so that at our table, all I had to do was reach my hand out and I would have been touching the kitchen counter. It does get a little crammed/crowded, but not in an annoying or unbearable kind of way. The vibe is actually really cozy and rustic. Very dim lighting so either whip out the flashlight on your phone or hold up one of the real candles they have on the table to read the menu. The food menu is straightforward and simple. They have an extensive wine list. I love how on the food menu, next to each dish, they tell you the region of Italy that dish gets its roots from. They have lovely dinnerware here. They brought out a foccacia bread for the table with a tomato dipping sauce. Absolutely delicious foccacia. The sauce was a tad too salty for me. I started off with the mocktail Luisa. It was passion fruit, lemon, agave, ginger beer, and mint. It was $10 and very fresh and mouthwatering! For my appetizer I had the Calamari alla griglia. Grilled calamari with guacamole and carasau bread. I've never had grilled calamari before. Only either marinara or fried. I also thought pairing it with guacamole was an interesting twist. I was so pleasantly surprised by this dish. The calamari were perfectly fork tender grilled. The guacamole went well with it. The carasau bread was more like a tortilla chip. They give you a decent amount for $24.95. That app slid down my throat effortlessly! For my entree I had the Maccheroncini alla Norma. Maccheroni with eggplant in tomato sauce with ricotta cheese. The pasta was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce reminded me so much of my Calabrian grandmother's. The ricotta made it rich and creamy. Filling as well. So much so that, even though it wasn't a huge portion, I had to take home half of it because I was verging on being stuffed! My mother had the Cotoletta alla milanese. Keep in mind that if you get this chicken cutlet dish that it serves about four people, even though its for 1! HUGE portion. About 4 enormous cutlets that gave my mom 3 days of leftovers! All of the desserts were $12.95. A nice selection to choose from, but I had the classic Tiramisu. They make it here tableside. He made it with such care. Loved watching him put it all together. Let me tell you, that was the BEST Tiramisu that I've EVER had! Wow, just amazing. Very balanced, quality ingredients. The marscapone was so decadent, creamy and fresh. I could have easily taken down 2 of them! I tried some of my mother's chocolate cake. Delicious and decadent. Service throughout our dinner was above and beyond. Attentive, kind, concise and our waiter was such a cutie! Smooth sailing throughout the entire meal. We barely had to wait for anything. Amazing restaurant and staff. We ended the night with cannolis, which was a pleasant surprise to find 3 came in 1 order. One side is pistachio while the other had a coco dusting. These were again delicious but pretty filling and sweet so we could only eat one. The staff here was also very friendly and service was quick with food coming out much faster than I expected. Overall I would come back and try even more on their menu.

The food was so delicious and authentic Italian food, the portions were huge, and the bill was extremely reasonable.

Since I am half Sicilian, I am appreciative to enjoy food that brings back memories of my childhood. Amuni accomplishes that for me. Solid gold.
