Oh Oregano's, one of my first and favorite Arizona-born restaurant loves. For starters, if you've never been to an Oregano's and are in the area, stop what you are doing and go inside right now! This especially rings true if you're visiting Phoenix or are in town for a short period of time. Although the food has gone down in quality, it's the atmosphere, nostalgia, and service that makes this a great place. Food: In terms of Appetizers, we ordered the Wings which were cooked to perfection. The spicy flavor with the Italian blend was right on point. We also ordered a favorite, the Chicken Caesar salad which had a great flavor, but was honestly lacking when it came to the chicken. Regarding the entrees, we also ordered the Alfredo in the Dark with Chicken. The sauce was a bit watery, the dish looked significant smaller than how it used to be served, and there was a lack of chicken when it came to the dish. For dessert we had the fan favorite- Pzookie! (Pizza Cookie) Honestly, you can't t go to Oregano's without ordering the Pzookie, it's like going to Cheesecake Factory without the Cheesecake. I really feel like they were the pioneers when it came to this dish! The service and interior atmosphere was really great at this location, the servers were very attentive and the decor was on point. My one gripe with Oregano's is that they have really skimped out on their chicken, which is really evident when you compare their Chicken Caesar salad and Alfredo in the Dark to their previous versions. Hankering for a sandwich and not just any old sandwich. A friend suggested Oreganos so I thought I'd give it a go. Every now and then I crave a veggie sandwich but didn't know if it would be on the menu. Yup it was and man oh man was it delicious. Served on a toasted sub roll, it was layered with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and loaded with fresh veggies. There was not a limp veggie in the lot. Crisp and delicious. The coleslaw side and chips were okay and the dill pickle was a nice touch. But the star of the show was the sandwich. Take a gander at the photo and drool. read more

We just moved here from Wyoming/Colorado and are very familiar with Oreganos as it was one of our favorite restaurants in Fort Collins, Colorado. We enjoyed our food and drinks, and our service was friendly and attentive. However, the bar area at this location sucks! Very limited seating because most of the bar is used for take out. Also the location of the bar is not ideal for flow of traffic as people go tp and from their tables. read more

We ordered take out pizza and it was a big disappointment. When we opened the box it looked as though the pizza had been thrown in the box. It was not cut in their usual square fashion but haphazardly cut. The pizza was not done in the middle. I've always enjoyed Oregano's crispy crust and this one was far from it. I am incredibly disappointed to write this review about Oregano's Pizza Bistro, a place my family and I used to love. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was ruined by an appalling experience involving a higher-up manager named Michael. David, our favorite server, has always been the highlight of our visits. His exceptional service and warm personality made each meal memorable. However, during our last visit, we witnessed something that left us deeply upset. David and Michael seemed to be talking about payment of some sort which seems simple enough to pull your employee somewhere private but this manager decided to do it at the front of the restaurant. Michael then degraded David in front of us and other customers. His exact words, "If $25 makes or breaks you, you have bigger issues," or something along those lines overall they were not only disrespectful but entirely uncalled for. David remained composed, but it was clear he was humiliated. No employee should ever be treated this way, especially someone as dedicated and hardworking as David. His amazing service is the only reason we kept coming back to Oregano's. Witnessing such mistreatment has left a bitter taste in our mouths, and we will not be returning to Oregano's Pizza Bistro. It is heartbreaking to see good employees being treated so poorly, and we cannot support an establishment that allows such behavior. If you value respectful treatment of staff and good service, I would advise you to look elsewhere. This experience has been enough for us to take our business elsewhere, and we hope management takes serious steps to address this issue. You just lost 3 valuable customers and the rats didn't scare us that were in the female bathroom CEILING but a manager did. DISAPPOINTING!!! Hopefully David leaves we will visit him elsewhere. The waitress then took our beverage order. She took they're beverage order. Then another group of ladies were seated. She took they're beverage order. Yum! We are new to the area and ordered Oregano's for takeout. The online order process was a bit cumbersome on a phone so I ended up ordering it by call. We were quoted 25-30 minutes and slipped on over for pick up. They have things nicely organized for pick up. Unfortunately, the call in pick up girl was very overstretched and we ended up waiting more than 50 minutes for our order. A bit of a bummer, especially because by the time we got our food and drove home it seemed pretty cold, like it might have been forgotten in the back. Either way, microwave fixed the cold food issue. First I was so looking forward to eating a deep crust, that's why I chose oregano's. We started out with calamari good than get the pizza the crust look totally different like not buttery crust but flat bread, I said weird but ok we eat the pizza and I said what the heck is this crap, did not taste good at all. We experienced some disappointments the last time we ate here my kiddo has always loved them so we tried again tonight. They've done something awful to the bistro calamari (it wasn't good last time either,) that's made it taste bland and fishy at the same time. They don't put nearly enough of the seasoning they used to (it was unique and made their dish craveable, so to lose it is sad.) The "marinara" for dipping tasted like bland plum tomatoes that have been too long in the can and were just crushed and served as a sauce. Bland and metallic tasting. So almost no seasoning, terrible (crime against humanity) marinara and there were no lemons! Our server had taken off for parts unknown so it was stone cold before we were finally able to get some to try and save it. Mission failed. As I mentioned, the service wasn't great. There was a weird incident with seating. No hostess. I don't know if it was staffing shortage or something weird they're trying with having servers seat their own tables or seat other servers tables but we waited a while and then when someone finally came, she looked at us awkwardly, entered something into the console and then didn't acknowledge us and basically ran away. Odd and sort of rude. The ranch tasted funny for our salads. I'm wondering if they changed supplier and their ingredients aren't as good? I dunno. It was just so disappointing. Horrible Horrible!! Worst Chicken Parm. Ever heard of seasonings? It was so bland!! Also my hubby got a pasta with beautiful shrimp on top. He was so excited until he bit in to one and they were raw inside. He told the waiter and said just cook this one. You don't need to make a new. They literally just put it under the heat lamp. 15 minutes later it came back exactly like it was and cold to touch in the middle. They tried to pull a fast one and it could have got him sick. Be very careful!! Go to Carrabas they have great Chicken parm. Very very disappointed !!! First time at Oregano's and they are cool! We ordered a stuffed chicago pizza, lots o broccoli, and a pineapple alcohol drink, they were good. We were trying to have only a pizza and a drink, but since they said it would take about an hour to get the stuffed chicago pizza, we ordered a Lots O broccoli, which was a good choice. It just came with broccolis topped with parmesan cheese and oil, but it was so good! And wait for some time, our stuffed pizza came! It didn't take an hour, we actually got the pizza in 30 mins. And omg... I didn't check the size when I ordered, but it was huge!!! A huge stuffed chicago pizza for 18 bucks? Well I think this is a deal. It came with like 10 pieces and we could only had one and a half pieces each lol we were too stuffed that couldn't have even two pieces each. We ended up taking the rest at home, but really happy about it since we can freeze it and warm it up and eat it like it's freshly cooked :) oh and there are 6 pieces in my freezer lol read more

The hostess with the dyed red hair has a horrible attitude and this is the second time we've encountered her. She could Care less about all of the people outside in the cold. We waited nearly 2 hours for a table while there were multiple Open tables. She wouldn't even look, she just stood at the hostess stand. It's GONE?!? We went back to Oregano's last night for a Chicago stuffed pizza. We hadn't been to Oregano's for a while, but the stuffed pizza wasn't on the menu any more. We've introduced this place to so many people over the years. To my wife and me this is what Oregano's was about. I couldn't believe it. I know it takes some time to cook, but it was worth it. We were so disappointed. Some other items are good, but the thin crust pizza is not that great and not worth choosing Oregano's over some of our other spots. The crust was black around the entire edge, the sauce was only really near the edge of the crust, and the cheese was so thick in the center that it congealed quickly and was rubbery. Never been to this specific location before but I'm really glad I stopped by! I absolutely love the atmosphere. It was giving cozy/ homey vibes, which was a nice touch. My guest and I were sat right away this past Thursday night. We were greeted by our server name Andrew. He was on top of our requests and drinks we orders; thanks Andrew! The food was so delicious along with the generous portion. We had to take the rest home; however, we order dessert. Saturday night at this place is bumpin so beware. Took them about 2 hours to have my wings and Italian wedding soup ready. But sooo worth it. The golden Italian wings were fantastic. Not since Zipps have golden wings been done so well. I would recommend getting them well done as they are not lying about the jumbo. The Italian wedding soup is so flavorful and warms your soul. I came by on Saturday at 8:45 PM. At 9 PM, we placed our order for a Chicago stuffed, two topping pizza. Our waitress told us a thin crust pizza takes ~30 minutes, pan takes ~45 minutes, and Chicago stuffed takes ~1 hour. We opted for the Chicago stuffed knowing the restaurant closes at 10 PM. Our pizza came out at 9:30 PM. Great right? No, our pizza was very much undercooked and the crust was very dough-y tasting and bland. They were definitely rushing our meal, which I don't appreciate. The mac and cheese was really good and a tad spicy (similar to pepper jack cheese/jalapeno infused cheese?, but it wasn't enough to salvage the god awful pizza. We don't go to chain restaurants that often, but we love their thin pizza and have been coming more and more. If you like thinner pizzas, look no further! The only Oregano's I have been to is the one on Camelback. Picked up a friend who lives in Glendale and surprisingly it was not busy (it was Xmas Eve). Ordered the Picasso salad and pizza blanco and that was delish. Quality seems good but portions seemed to be much smaller than I remembered.
