Picked up some take out from Raffaele's Pizza tonight, and wow! A pepperoni/sausage pizza, wings and a meatball sandwich w/melted mozzarella. This place has much history, the other location was started in the 70's at 19th Ave and Glendale Ave. Family owned and operated, there are new owners after all these years, but I can tell you they have stayed true to the tradition, the recipes, the service, the food is as delicious as it always was, service friendly, polite, and fast. I cannot recommend them enough to you, New York Style Pizza at its finest, call for take out, you can eat in their nice atmosphere, and I think they deliver also. Very good NY style pizza. Not the best, but pretty damn good. They charge a service charge maybe because I was part of a group. Our server was friendly and quick. This place has some solid potential, but today's visit just left me feeling meh. It wasn't the worst yet definitely not the best. The location is on the smaller side, but holds a decent size bar with beer on tap, a pool table and some high and low top tables. We came in around noon to a completely empty restaurant. A server came out and greeted us soon after but she seemed less than thrilled to be there or help us..you choose which. We quickly looked over the menu and chose a slice and salad and a deep dish slice and six wings. Both came with drinks. Prices are decent. I was instantly bummed when my salad came out. It was iceberg lettuce in a paper bowl with a few think cucumber pieces and tiny bit of tomato. Boring. Best part of it was the ranch. My slice was ok crispy crust but soon soggy. Flavor was decent. My husband said wings were good and not over sauced. Deep dish so so. A gentleman I'm guessing the owner had brought out our food and was friendly and thanked us for coming in. Definitely more friendly than the girl who originally helped us. All in all I don't think we'd be back, but glad we tried it. read more

Well to start - the delivery guy left the pizza on the ground in fron of my door!! Its food on the ground. Not a good thing. Then the cheese slid and was in the box, kinda messy. As for the pizza, it was ok. The dough/crust was good, the sausce was bland and tasteless. After a bit of doctoring up is ended up better. But it was the fact that it was left on the ground - I was right at the door just unlocking it if he had waited like 30 seconds!! read more

First time here. Nice little pizza joint. Seating area with a bar and pool table. Ordered the pizza and wings and an antipasto salad. I thought the pizza and wings were pretty good. Wings were supposed to be medium but were more like mild. The salad was good and filling. The service was really good at the beginning but when we were done, we had to get our own check and boxes. I don't know why but we were completely ignored. I would have given this place a higher score if not for that issue. The food itself was pretty good and was close to home so I'm sure we'll be back. Great place! I've been going to their Phoenix location since the 90s, so when they opened this one a few minutes from my house, I was thrilled. Superb food and service. They were very nice. Kiddo and I picked up food. They were pretty fast. This place was recommended to me by a friend. I was skeptical as I always am about trying new pizza places. Kiddo wanted to try it. We bought an appetizer combo with wings. The fried mushrooms & Zucchini & mozzarella sticks were basic but tasty. I'm pretty sure they were standard frozen items, but it's not a big deal bc I knew what I was ordering. The wings were meaty, so they weren't tiny wings you'd get at some restaurants. I was going to order the hot wings but the girl was like, are you sure, they're pretty spicy? So I got medium. They weren't spicy for me at medium but they were still good. Dad joke- "medi-yum". We ordered the raffaele's special, 18". Bruh. 18" seemed smaller in my brain. It was good though. It's basically a combo, but the crust was nice. It had a good chew to it, and it wasn't too thick. The sauce had a good flavor to it, and there was a good amount of toppings. No food pics this time around bc we were hungry and just started eating. Definitely coming back here. read more

If you want burned bottom pizza, that's not cooked all the way, and RAW FLOUR all over the bottom that tastes like chalk. Order from here. We placed an online order for delivery for the Sicilian specialty and accidentally ordered half pepperoni and half cheese as the online system did something weird where I only ordered pepperoni on half. We also got 25 wings but had to pay extra to do more than one flavor (we did medium and lemon pepper). It was over $100 which is crazy for pizza and wings and while the food was okay, it wasn't worth $100. I wouldn't order from here again if we are in the area in the future. read more

We saw this place in passing and just had to try it. We are always looking for new (to us) pizza and wing restaurants. Upon stepping in, we were greeted immediately and a young girl (probably about 14) waited on our table. She was sweet just seemed too young. She had AirPods in and I could hear that she was listening to something while talking to us. I can't say I'm a fan of that from a customer service standpoint. Otherwise, we had some questions about the menu and she was knowledgeable and even gave us some suggestions which we highly appreciated never having been there before. We ordered pizza and wings. The pizza was good. Nice and crispy but not over cooked. The wings were also nice and crispy! However, they were super tiny! This is by far the best pizza I have had in Phoenix. Every single time we get a pizza at Rafaeles, either take out or dining in, it's perfect every time! The consistency in this pizza is what blows me away. Most places end up either too oily or floppy. Raffaeles always make their pizza with no flop just the right amount of sauce and everything is very fresh. I went in to pick up my pizza and I was appalled. No one in here was wearing a mask. Not front of the house, not back of the house. Not patrons who weren't eating. I was happy to see a new pizza place open up in the neighborhood but was quickly disappointed. First, I paid $28 for a medium 2 topping pizza and small order of wings (I believe it was only 6). The pizza was completely flavorless... the toppings, sauce and crust were all very bland. The wings were very dry and inedible. Most of the food was thrown out. It also bothered me to see none of the staff wearing masks during COVID. Hanging them around your ears or throat doesn't count. None of the tables were marked off for social distancing and all 10 of the customers who were in there were all crammed into their "bar" section behind a pony wall. I am a vegetarian, and it is almost always a challenge to find something nutritious and good to eat. So my husband (non-vegetarian) want to eat out it can be a nuisance. Not at Raffaeles Pizza! While there was not necessarily a whole vegetarian meal on the menu, the very friendly and kind owner offered to create and make me a vegetable lasagna, loaded with vegetables, and a huge serving as well. This was a takeout order and I could not be more pleased. I am so grateful and appreciative of the fabulous customer service and the enthusiastic willingness to accomadate! I've been going to Rafael's since they opened in 74. I even worked for the electrical contractor that did the original wiring. The food is always spot on. I would even travel from my house at 67th and Olive, to pickup food. Now I have deliveries.
