Just ate at Oreganos for the first time tonight and loved it. Started off with drinks in the bar. My Moscow Mule was perfect, one of the best I have had. Once seated, started with the meatballs. The marinara was on point. The sauce was delicious and well seasoned without heavy handed on tomato flavor. The meatballs were perfect. Lots of flavor and right amount of breadcrumbs. Ordered the Mama's Sausage and Peppers. Delicious. The penne was al Dante with a generous amount of sauce. The sausage was spicy with just the right kick. The peppers were nice and colorful with just the right texture and bite. And the garlic bread YUM. Could have had a meal just on bread alone it was SO buttery and garlicky. Just the way it should be. I've got to give Oregano's credit, the food was significantly better than I was expecting. I've long avoided this restaurant as given it's popularity, it is always slammed with customers. I figured that while the food was probably good, it wasn't THAT good. We did arrive early (around 4:00 PM) to get our name in the hat and ended up enjoying a two hour wait. In fairness to Oregano's, we were a party of 13 and they couldn't seat us until at least half the group had arrived. No one objected to that and in this instance, I didn't mind the wait. The outside staff was courteous and it was nice to get full drink service while we were out there. Their beers on tap aren't outstanding, though they do have some microbrew stuff as well as the typical range of garbage beers and slightly less garbage beers so at least the liquor was drinkable. I couldn't get a Bloody Mary though because they were "out of Bloody Mary Mix" (note to self, never order a Bloody Mary at Oregano's). The free pizza samples were quite nice as well. From the time we finally did get seated, to getting our food, to paying our bill, was two and half hours so in all our large group ended up spending around 4 1/2 hours at the restaurant with long waits to be seated and a long wait between ordering our food and getting our food. Was it worth it? Ahh, the million dollar question. As I said in the beginning of the review, I was overall pretty surprised by the quality of the food. It was quite delicious. I ordered an alfredo dish with shredded chicken and it was very good. The sauce had a strong flavor without being overwhelming and Oregano's use of southwest peppers wins a gold star from me. They get a little carried away with the herbs (to much Oregano? yes!) which gives some of the food a gritty aftertaste but overall it was excellent. I also decided to order a full-size pizza to take home with me. After waiting four hours, I figured it wasn't going to be anytime soon that I would venture these crowds again. The pizza, a southwestern creation with carne asade and more poblanos was also quite good. I love thin crust pizza so for me they have a real winner here with their basic design. Again the use of herbs was somewhat overpowering but the taste of the pizza was fairly rock solid. The larger pizzas are only $1-$2 more expensive than the small pizzas (though the pizzas themselves are fairly expensive overall) so after going with an 18'' I ended up with enough food to get me through the next several days. I was quite happy about that. Overall the experience was very positive but it was mainly made so by having a great group of friends to hang with. Going in we knew the wait was going to be long (especially because of the size of our party) so we took it in stride and tried to enjoy the atmosphere. The food was definitely good and the service was decent but the food was not good enough that I would be willing to brave the wait times on a regular basis. I'm fairly sure Oregano's will go on the list of (very) infrequent special occasions. I strongly recommend you avoid the restaraunt if you are looking for something small or intimate. Part of the issue with this location is that they built in an old fast food joint (long-time residents of the area will recognize it as the building that used to house a Fazolli's) and the building simply isn't large enough for the crowds the food draws. That's a shame because the restaurant easily draws enough business to support a larger building and larger staff. Oregano's, I love you but either open more West Side locations or relocate to a larger building, until then you won't be seeing me regularly. Though, with the business they draw, they won't be missing my money either. Ahh well, at least the food is delicious. read more

I have been going to Oregano's since I was kid, and there has been no place that tops this restaurant. My family and I would drive an hour just to eat here before they opened the Glendale location. They have creative and diverse Italian options to suit everyone, and they're old-style decor really sets the atmosphere of the restaurant. I have never had bad service or bad food from this establishment, and I eat here more than any other restaurant in town. PS: The pizza cookie is a MUST HAVE! read more

My review is STRICTLY for our server, Connor. The absolute WORST server I've ever experienced in a restaurant server compacity. Our experience first started with his overbearing selling of nachos. If I didn't know better, I would have thought he was getting commission from them. After our family kindly reminded him that we were not interested, our night progressed. We ordered over $100+ worth of food and then when I ask for a side of ranch with my $20 pizza, We we're instructed it costs .50. Excuse me?! My wife ordered a "Oregano's favorite" salad. It came to the table incorrect with missing ingredients. When I told connor about it, he sat here and argued. Connor was incredibly creepy, over stayed his welcome at the table and was almost trying too hard. He asked if we wanted boxes 4 minutes after my wife's salad arrived. Incredibly uncomfortable. I have never been here before so since yesterday was my birthday my daughter and best friend and I went here for lunch. Since they are practicing social distancing we waited 35 minutes in the car before we were texted to come in. It was well worth the wait. The server was awesome, very attentive and well versed in the dishes they offered. I had the Vina salad whIch was huge, my daughter had Alfredo with shrimp and my friend had penne with sausage. All the orders were delicious and we had plenty for leftovers to take home. For desert we had macadamia cookie with ice cream which we shared. I went here with a group of girlfriends for dinner the other day. My husband and I have also been here a couple times before too. I'm always impressed with the service. All our orders come right and the wait staff is always so attentive. The salads are huge!! The pizza was great! My favorite is the guacamole dip!!! So amazing. The food is always large portions and always so tasty!! One of my favorite things to do is order the enormous appetizers and have drinks at the bar, then order dessert afterwards! You can never go wrong with the anti pasta salad!! Whenever we come here, we have to get dessert! I love how the kids have a very inexpensive menu and so they can get more than just a slice of pizza. What in the world has happened to what was once a really decent place to get Italian food and pizzas? I received a gift card to this place and decided to go there on a Tuesday night. We got there about 4:30, just before the dinner rush. We were seated right away but waited a bit for our drinks (iced tea.) Our orders were taken a bit later but it took quite a while to receive our food, even though there were only 2 or 3 other tables with guests. There appeared to be quite a few orders going out for pick up. Friend ordered baked rigatoni and I got the shrimp with spaghetti. These meals came with one piece of garlic bread and nothing else. No salad, no soup. It was an awkward wait between our drinks and the time it took to deliver our food. The rigatoni was very dry, in a very dry, unappetizing looking dough bowl. The shrimp was very rubbery and the noodles were different lengths, like someone took longer noodles and randomly broke them. The "sauce" was good, but everything else tasted sort of metallic. Friend left the majority of their meal and I left about a third... Unheard of for us foodies. We don't plan to return, ever. read more

Have always enjoyed coming here. Though the last time i was there, i got the alfredo, and had food poisoning about a day later, as well as my friend who i went with. We love Oregano's- their deep dish pizza, thin crust, and even the pastas are great (especially the Alfredo the Dark). They also have the delicious pizza cookie. Food is pretty good. Last few times I've ordered take out they have been 20 to 30 minutes late with the food. Watch others with orders due after my scheduled pickup come in and grab their orders and leave while I'm still waiting.
