They serviced it up and said it's still has a lot of life left. Now 2026 Chris is texting me wanting to service it on a special of $49. Why? So they can refuse to service it again? After much debate, I needed to have the foundation that had been poured removed and fill in the hole. I was really struggling to find anyone to even bid the project, let alone take the job. Rob, the owner, showed up, bid the job to my new GC, was forthcoming about when he could start and what the costs would be. He was no nonsense, good for his word. Showed up with his crew and equipment the day he said he was going to, and every day till the job was done. He came across many issues with what the previous contractor had done, but he also came to me with solutions and the means to fix them. You have to love a guy who brings you answers to the problems you didn't even know you had! It was one of those, "this couldn't have gone any smoother" transactions. His crew was very careful with their equipment and made sure not to damage any of the surrounding areas, i.e. sidewalks, trees, fences, the neighbors cars. I'm pretty sure that man could tie a shoelace with that excavator thing he was using. Rob did everything he said he was going to do and even more. He went above and beyond. It's very rare, and hard to find honorable, no nonsense guys like that these days. This is an amazing team. A well run business, and just an all around great company to work with. I couldn't be happier. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the "after" photos show where Rob actually had some rich soil brought in and planted grass seed in it for me!! He didn't have to do that, but he did because that's just the kind of guy he is. One of a kind for sure.

A tester came out in early July and, due to some overly enthusiastic spring mulching, 'couldn't find' my back flow device (its in the same place it was last year, I guess the company doesn't keep any notes?). Instead of knocking on the door or calling, he filled out a form saying they couldn't find the device but that they would contact me to reschedule. It's now late august, they have not contacted me to reschedule. I get that the company might have a policy about not digging around in customers' mulch, but i think it took me less time to clear the mulch after finding the form than it took the technician to write it out. Why fill out a form and leave instead of even trying to contact the owner?

I called Sutherland to get an estimate for replacing my water heater after my neighbor's unit…read morestarted leaking. Since all of our homes were built around the same time, I assumed my water heater was also 17 years old and might need replacement soon. After I sent photos of my water heater and the model details, Ti took the time to look up the serial/model number on the Bradford White website and discovered that my unit was actually only 11 years old, not 17 as I had thought. He texted me back and asked for clearer photos to confirm the manufacturing date. I called him right away, and even though I currently have no issues with my water heater, he generously spent time explaining everything in detail. He told me that Bradford White is a very reliable water heater and that this model generally does not require routine tank draining for maintenance. He also gave me valuable advice for the future, recommending that when I eventually replace the unit, I should install it on a metal drain pan with moisture detection for leak protection. I was genuinely impressed by his honesty, knowledge, and willingness to help without trying to sell me something I don't need right now. He could have easily pushed for a replacement, but instead he gave me thoughtful, professional advice and saved me unnecessary expense. I truly appreciate the time he spent helping me over the phone, and I would absolutely recommend Sutherland to anyone looking for an honest and knowledgeable professional.
