After years of having American backflow do my annual backflow test with no fuss, they really dropped the ball this year. A tester came out in early July and, due to some overly enthusiastic spring mulching, 'couldn't find' my back flow device (its in the same place it was last year, I guess the company doesn't keep any notes?). Instead of knocking on the door or calling, he filled out a form saying they couldn't find the device but that they would contact me to reschedule. It's now late august, they have not contacted me to reschedule. I get that the company might have a policy about not digging around in customers' mulch, but i think it took me less time to clear the mulch after finding the form than it took the technician to write it out. Why fill out a form and leave instead of even trying to contact the owner? read more

Unreliable. They no showed for two separate appointments and even confirmed the day of that they'd be there when I called when they didn't show up at the appointment time, and still never showed up. Go with someone else that cares about their customers read more

I needed a backflow installed at my home, and didn't really know where to start. I have very old plumbing and I was very wary about people being in and out of my home in a pandemic. American Backflow sent out Owen, and I'll admit, even though I had a lower quote from another company, he and the owner of the company, Tony, sold me on going with them. I've never had a more polite service person in my life. Owen showed up on time, masked when I asked, and bent over backwards to be helpful in explaining the job. Tony got on the phone with me to explain my options. (Ok, their scheduler is a bit cranky, but seriously, hold out because the service people are amazing). The job was scheduled really fast- a week! On the day of installation, they called ahead of time, showed up and were incredibly respectful to my home and to me. They took their time doing the install, asking me whenever there were options to be discussed, making sure I understood the system, and repeatedly reminding me to call if I needed help or explanation after install. Honestly, its the best service call I've had through the pandemic, possibly before that, too. I was very happy to pay their rate, which was very competitive (I'd have only saved $150 going with someone else, but it was clear they cared less). They tested our irrigation backflow device as a subcontractor for Cornel's plumbing. There was no problem with the testing. One issue was that their web presence is clearly in need of some updating. There is no e-mail address or functional web form. Their website was developed in 2016 and parts of it are still missing. What worked though was a chat through Google maps. read more

Owen came out on a Saturday and found our Backflow device that the city and another plumber could not. Took Owen less than five minutes. What a great employee and a great company. We used American Backflow again this year and were just as happy as the first time! They had us on a reminder schedule and even called me to schedule before I realized we were nearly due. SO HELPFUL. They were on time for the appointment, worked quickly so the water wouldnt be off for too long, and their online payment system is a breeze to go through. I am VERY happy we found this company when we did because the process required by the city for these devices to be checked out every year is a little confusing, and American Backflow basically took it over from me and have handled everything needed for the last two years. read more

ABS technician (Ryan) was timely, courteous, professional, and friendly. He called at 0800 to let me know his arrival time. We have used American Backflow Services for years now. They are GREAT! You can schedule online, pay online and they are on it! They send reminders every year and I just schedule, and DONE! Also, they offer great prices ($40) so it's just easy and reasonably-priced too. They send verification of their services to the city so it's just so efficient! Will never use this company again. Called for an appointment- was given two windows of time to be available- one in am and one in pm which means I had to take a vacation day to be available- never showed up either time frame and never called me to explain- I called asking where the service person was and no call back- a complete waste of my day with no consideration of my time. read more

Very accommodating - easy to work with. Dean explained every step and gave us more economical options too. Used them for our backflow inspection and a cracked pipe. American Backflow Services contacted my mother one week prior to her death while she was in hospice and scheduled services with her. There is no doubt that she was in agony and under influence of heavy duty pain relieving drugs at that time. When I contacted them they told me that they often speak with elderly people who are "out of it" and, as long as they can provide their name and address, they will schedule the service. They declined to waive the charge that must have been arranged for in error. Had I been contacted, I would have refused the service as the home was due to be sold. What kind of operation schedules with people who are clearly incapacitated and feels perfectly comfortable with it as a way of doing business? Also refuses to own up to a bad business practice and waive the erroneous fee? Don't trust them. read more

The technician was very nice and friendly and called an hour before he came and was right on time!!!!!! That is amazing. I took a card from him and made sure to schedule us for next year!
