Through crossed wires, our multi-family property accidentally scheduled 2 backflow tests. We passed the first test, however Bruton failed our 2nd test and followed up on our failed test with another quote to come in and "fix" the issue. Because they reported our failed test to the City of Beaverton, we were under threat of having our water shut off if we did not fix the issue that led to our failed test. On a hunch, our maintenance supervisor scheduled a 3rd test and same as the first, we passed "with flying colors". The person that conducted the 3rd test was baffled that our system had failed. Given that we passed 2 tests with zero issue, but were failed by Bruton, followed up by another estimate of charges to come out and "fix" what wasn't broken, I find this business to be highly suspect and would be weary of using a company that has the power to literally hold your water for ransom unless you bring them back and pay them more money to "fix" the issues that 2 other companies confirmed didn't exist. read more

My backflow system test failed and, after much searching and some really high quotes, Bruton Backflow fixed a minor problem for less than $70.00, including the re-test, rather than charging 500 to over $1100 to replace the whole system, as others quoted. My only complaint is that I almost paid much more because they didn't get the quote to me when they said they would and only sent it after I told them I had chosen another company. read more

I was looking for a backflow test, and was happy with Bruton's scheduling & pre-service. They got good yelp reviews, so I reached out online. I got a quick response, with pricing and instructions on how to schedule/order. They have a website where you can get your appointment started, which is nice. And their pricing seemed quite fair. I ended up getting the backflow testing covered for free this year by the company who had installed my underground sprinkler. So had to call Bruton and cancel my appointment. Their office staff was very friendly and accommodating. My experience with them was positive enough that I wanted to drop a positive review here, and I'll certainly give them a shot in future years for backflow testing and sprinkler repairs as needed. read more

I have been using them for the last 7 years or so for my Backflow testing , winterization , summer water opening and retesting . They faulted last year when they did not send anybody to do sprinkler testing as they were "SO BUSY", anyway my gardener did that . This time to stay ahead of the game I requested service 3 months ago so it is done on time. Till date I have send them multiple reminders, e-mails, phone message you name it - no response . When we bought our house in Gresham three years ago the sellers could not give us any information about the complicated irrigation system. This is probably a common situation. So when the system failed to operate properly this spring we had no clue what was wrong. I have used Bruton Backflow's services (winterization, backflow test, spring activation) since October 2020. I'm very inquisitive, and both Tim and Matt have been great about answering my questions about the backflow preventer and the irrigation system in general. They even taught me how to shut down the irrigation system in winter and open it up in spring so that I don't need to hire them to do it. So awesome! They are friendly, courteous, and careful not to damage plants surrounding the backflow preventer and main irrigation shutoff valve. Just wrapped up with Tim Bruton of Bruton Backflow. I had them on the schedule to review a backflow device that needed to be 'replaced' according to a lot of other providers. Tim diagnosed the problem in 2 minutes and fixed it in another 30. Other shops wanted to charge me $1800-$2000 for a full replacement that was not even warranted. Which, also, would have cost a fraction of that based on Tim's estimate if I had wanted to go that route. Overall amazing service and price. Tim really knows his stuff. I found that something was leaking in my irrigation system on Friday 8/04 so after looking on Yelp I called a few places with good ratings. Bruton was the only one I called who could get out by Monday 8/07. This worried me a bit because some of the other companies were booking out til November! Anyhow, Matt showed up for our scheduled appointment on time and got right to work finding the leak and fixing it. It was a large hole in my drip system and the tubing hose had separated as well. He repaired it and asked if I needed any help with other irrigation issues. He then went to work re-programming my sprinkler system and replaced and adjusted a head that wasn't aimed properly. He answered my questions about a watering schedule and was very helpful. When he left he said if I had any questions or if something was still not right to give them a call. He said they would email an invoice. I got it today and it seems very reasonable. I will call Bruton with any future issues with my sprinklers. read more

Don't you love when people just do what you need them do do, and do it well? That's Bruton. My husband installed our backflow preventer and we needed it tested to pass inspection. We called on a Monday, they came on a Tuesday, repaired it to bring it up to snuff, and were on their way. Easy and painless, and reasonably priced, considering the great service. It would be hard for me to overstate what a stand-up guy Tim is. He happened to be at my sister-in-law's home when we arrived for a visit. He made an unscheduled stop well past the end of his normal work hours because he had completed a job in the neighborhood and knew my sis needed the help (even though her appointment was scheduled for a future date). I know Tim because he also takes care of our sprinklers. I always enjoy learning from him and he is more than willing to share his knowledge. I took the opportunity to describe an issue we are having (one zone is not activating). He spent 10 minutes with me going over potential sources and solves for our issue and said he was more than happy to look at a pic of the offending valve junction and could advise me further. I really appreciate Tim's help with my backflow testing and sprinkler repairs. I was a few minutes late getting home, and he had already nearly finished my annual backflow test. He then helped troubleshoot some of the wiring for our sprinkler system, which included some tricky crossed wires and buried connections. Tim used to work for Womack and did backflow testing and specialized in sprinkler systems. He did my annual backflow testing for years, and had him repair a major underground leak in my sprinklers. Had a hard time finding Tim since he started his own business but I needed my whole system checked out as I was having lots of issues and I wanted him to do it. Tim found several cracked heads and a cracked elbow due to having my lawn aerated, as well as replacing several nozzles to water more effectively. He straightened out the leaning ones, and raised up some that were too far below the surface. He also fixed the ones that weren't popping up all the way. And he reset my control panel to water more efficiently for my steep clay soil lawn, plus he showed me how to program it since I misplaced the owners manual. Tim is a real pro, and if you want it done right he is your guy. Highly recommended. read more
