    Yummy food

yummy in my tummy i love chinese food the egg drop soup the best also love sesame chicken

Egg roll, won ton soup, house special egg foo young, and sweet and sour triple delight

I had never been here before and I had heard bad reviews, so I wanted to try it out for myself. The staff was attentive and polite. I ordered the house special egg foo young at $12.95 and the sweet and sour triple delight at $14.95. I got it as a combo, which included an egg roll and soup, for 99 cents extra. I have never been more disappointed in food. The portions were huge but the food was virtually inedible. The egg food young had chunks of mystery meat that tasted terrible, the egg roll had nothing but cabbage in it, the sweet and sour sauce was a cold, gelatinous glob and while, the won tons in the soup were good, the soup itself tasted just like Campbell's soup from a can. I hate that it wasn't good because Kingwood needs a great Chinese food place so badly. But this is not it.

I ordered the food ahead for pickup at lunchtime. The food was ready to go when I arrived. The lunch portion comes with the food pictured, a jumbo egg roll, and soup. The chicken was a little difficult to cut with the plastic utensils provided but the flavor was really good. The service was quick and easy.

If I could give a negative star I would. We ordered through Grubhub on a Wednesday. The spring rolls weren't even rolled - no meat- just lettuce. Pan noodles? Let's call this stale hair with a little sauce. Steamed dumplings couldn't even stay together when picked up. One of them was near cold/frozen when I bit into it. Portions are the smallest I've ever seen. Normally we order a $14 chicken and it feeds two elementary age kids - this was like 9 pieces. Overall - the egg drop soup was the only thing edible. Thank God for some refund from Grubhub. Never again! Let's also add - there's no white rice that comes with the $14-$16 chicken dishes. This is literally the only place that I've ever seen that does this.

Food wasn't amazing but wasn't horrible. I ordered the mai fun with pork, chicken and shrimp and it had good flavor. Too many bell peppers for my taste but someone else probably loves that. I also ordered the Peking pork. It had no flavor and was served on top of these little hard noodle things that were a PAIN to get out of the way to eat the pork. They stuck to every piece and had no flavor and were just super unappetizing. I think they used them as a filler to make it look like more pork was in there. Also, I ordered the kids meal with the sample of wings ribs fried shrimp. The wings were hard and over cooked and had NO FLAVOR AT ALL. The ribs were delicious. The shrimp was all batter.

This is the spring roll they sent me.

The chicken was overcooked and very salty. We will not be returning. Could not eat it and was not offered any type of compensation.

The duck is roasted for hours, so the skin comes out nice and crispy without being too greasy. I also like that the remaining duck is made into a soup afterward. It's simple, hearty, and especially good on a colder day. I've tried several other dishes here, and they've all been solid and remind me of the Chinese food I grew up eating. The servers have always been attentive and friendly, and the restaurant is spacious, so it's a good spot for family dinners or larger groups.

When we finally got seated we weren't asked What would you like to drink or this is our drink menu. It was-Water,right,right,Ok brb. So we had water just like the rest of the people in there. Also weird how they don't have any drinks on the menu or let you know about options. Could I have asked for something else? Sure but again waitresses were just all over the place it was crazy. When we ordered and others food was coming out we realized what big portions they give you. BTW just 'cus it's big portions doesn't mean This food is about to be the best Ive ever had. The food- We got some shrimp plate and we were told it was spicy because it has peppers and peppercorns which would numb your tongue which it was just basic shrimp dish. Only good or cool part of it was eating lotus root which Ive never had before. We also ordered the "special" house beef noodles and I don't see the hype or why they're so special. The only crazy part was the noodles length. Which honestly made it hard to eat. We ordered the duck which came with the soup. The soup was made from scraps. I think if they had added more duck and not just scraps it would be my fav thing of everything we ordered. Will say it tasted like chicken soup. For the duck. It wasn't as crispy as people made it seem to be. I expect idk a more gamey flavor to it and all I kept saying is-This taste like pork carnitas. Idk why we got treated than the table behind us. We asked for to go just like they do but they just gave them their to-go plates like Here ya go and they put all of our food in our to-go for us. Would I go back? Its one of those you say- Ok I've had it,had the duck, don't get the hype but ok not worth coming back again for more.

Left No Grain of Rice Behind (and Met a Track Star)…read more (10/10) My husband and I wandered into Imperial China on a quiet night - just us two lovebirds and the immaculately clean scent of... well, perfection. Seriously, the place smelled so fresh you could probably perform surgery in the dining room (don't worry, they stick to cooking, which is way more impressive). But the real MVP was Kendall She ran the register, served us, and basically orchestrated our entire evening with the grace of a future Olympic athlete... which, as it turns out, isn't far off! She mentioned she used to run track and is getting back into it. Let me tell you, that explains everything. The speed at which she refilled our water? Blink-and-you-miss-it. The efficiency of her service? Faster than the hurdles she used to jump over. We half-expected her to hand us our fortune cookies while doing hurdle drills over the chairs! Kendall, if you're reading this - you're amazing, and please save some gold medals for the rest of us mere mortals. Now, the FOOD. Oh. My. Wok. We're usually "leftover champions" at Chinese restaurants - it's practically our marital duty. But not this time. We ordered the Combination Fried Rice loaded with goodies) and the Hunan Chicken (spicy, savory, downright addictive). It was so unbelievably delicious, so flawlessly cooked, that we licked our plates clean. Seriously. Not a single grain of rice, not a stray pepper, not even a suspiciously saucy smudge escaped. Our dog is currently giving us the stink-eye because there were zero take-home boxes. Zero! Imperial China broke our leftover streak, and we're not even mad. And as if the universe was nodding along, our fortune cookie sealed the deal: Thursday will bring trust on your new journey." Considering our journey involved demolishing enough food for three people and meeting a future track legend, we'd say it's already pretty darn trustworthy! Overall 10 out of 10. Flawless cleanliness, food that made us abandon all dignity (and leftovers), service faster than Kendall's personal best, and a fortune that felt weirdly on-point. Imperial China, you've won our hearts, our stomachs, and our clean plate awards. We'll be back... probably on Thursday. Just in case.
