We ordered: Sweet and sour chicken Orange Chicken Egg rolls Egg Drop soup Crab Rangoon (complimentary since we were newbies) Fried rice Everything was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor! Delivery was super fast and friendly! We were told 40 minutes, but it was less than 30. We was trying to do something new tonight for dinner, so we ordered from oriental J, first off the food was late, we were too worried about that We know it's hard to time it especially if it's busy. When we got our food our teriyaki chicken tasted like rubber.....it was brown chicken and had absolutely no flavor at all, the rice wasn't all the way cooked it was hard. So we tried calling the restaurant and the gentleman that answered the phone was very rude, told us it wasn't his place to make sure someone got the food. Then when we told him the food was dry, tasted like rubber with no flavor, he got rude and said "Atleast it has a little sauce with it" thats when we proceeded to tell him it tasted bad and couldnt eat it. He told me "I give you credit" and hangs up the phone. This place will not get our buisness again!! read more

I did a carry out here so I can't speak about the actual dining environment. It was my first time so I asked for recommendations from the people working there. He was really friendly too. Tried the Char Kway Teow and Massaman Curry since the person told me that the restaurant owner is Malaysian. Woahh I was really impressed with both of them!!! Their Massaman Curry was probably the best I've had so far in the states. The curry sauce was beyond amazing! Char Kway Teow tasted really authentic too. I honestly would order both dishes again - which is super rare for me!! I can't wait to try this place again!! Fast. Friendly. Delicious. Never eaten at Oriental J but we have gotten delivery many times. Always hot and they have never made a mistake on our order. They usually say the delivery will take 45 minutes but it has never taken more than 30-usually only about 20 minutes. We have ordered or sat down here about 10 times now and I have yet to be let down in the slightest. The gentleman that makes the sushi is always a delight. The staff is taking care of anything we need within second of the request. Deliver always tells us it will be 45-50min and always arrives 15-20min early(we do live 1 mile away). I don't know what happened but this place was so good and the most delicious food like we were accustomed to up in the Washington, DC area. They closed for covid-19 and then re-opened for carryout. That is fine. Spent over $100 there in the past week or so and the food was all of a sudden no where near what it was. It was edible but not what you think you ordered. The pork lo mein was to die for before and then ordered the same a week ago and could hardly eat it. Tonight ordered the basil chicken and szechuan chicken and you couldn't tell them apart. They both tasted the same. Only way I could guess what one was, was that I saw a tiny piece of basil in one of the dishes. Plus all the szechuan chicken I have ever ordered at other places everything was kind of shredded like the vegetables. This was just large slices of carrots, zucchini and other veggies. Basically, what happened to the chefs you had before you closed? I hope they will be back soon. I will not be returning for a while to see if the original chefs have returned. If they don't, sorry, I won't be back. Such a shame because there are two other asian restaurants in the area which aren't that great either and when we found you thought we finally found the best and a place we loved. I live in NYC, but I have family in Buford. Whenever I am in town for a visit, I love to go to Oriental J. They have an extensive menu of Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. I love to get the sizzling rice soup and the shrimp pad thai (its the best I've ever had). I have never had a bad meal here. They have something for everyone and they are family friendly. Best Chinese restaurant in the area. My favorite is by far the General Tso pork. Super friendly and attentive staff. Plus you can go in and sit down to eat. I'm not a sushi fan but they have a fresh sushi bar and make to order. Well worth the trip. read more
