    Tony & His Amazon Chef!

We catered a Staff Appreciation luncheon for Pucketts Mill Elementary and it was fantastic! The teachers said this was the BEST ONE THEY HAVE EVER HAD!!! Not only was the food absolutely amazing, the customer service was incredible. I plan a lot of conferences and I will have to say it was truly a pleasure to work with Tony, the General Manager. He was knowledgeable, hospitable and very accommodating of all of our requests. He asked all the right questions and anticipated our needs. Best yet he didn't say no to a single request and worked hard to find a solution or alternative to anything I asked for. He's phenomenal and most definitely an asset to Kani House. Thank you so much for everything on behalf of Pucketts Mill Elementary!

Great quality sushi at an affordable price. We got agedashi tofu and edamame as appetizers and two sushi rolls (Orochi and Ladybug), Sashimi Deluxe (30 pieces sashimi), and a Tempura Udon. For dessert, we got ice cream and they were delicious!! There was no wait on a Saturday night for a regular table but you might have to wait for hibachi (which I definitely want to try next time). Our server was great & attentive and it was a really busy and popular restaurant!

Manager taunting us before we left

We had an 8pm reservation. When we sat down we were placed in a back area near the wait staff area and high chair storage. Table area next to us sat after us and had quicker service. Our full meal was not complete until 9:30pm. There was no chef engagement or entertainment...there was at other tables. One of the main reasons for going to a place like this is that. This chef seemed tired...he took a very long time to cook each food item. Other tables chefs were cooking multiple foods simultaneously. The food was then much colder but also bland. When we asked for a manager, Toni Phan came over and was argumentative. He stated we were not being honest...he stated every chef cooks and does the same...which you could clearly see was not true. He placed his hand on his hip and dismissed our issues. He berated us and thought it was funny. The grill was not real clean before or after cooking. Two out of the three of us got sick after. Also, I asked for to go containers for the sauce. The waiter brought over 3 and gave them to my brother (who did not ask but wanted them, started filling his up). When I asked the waiter for mine he said he gave them to him and to get one from him. When the manager saw us before leaving he continued taunting us. We were forced to pay for horrible service and food.

I happen to be in the area doing some shopping and decided to stop in and get some food. My first time. The service was good. We were seated right away and the food was actually pretty good. Everything was flavorful. The portions were large enough for me to have leftovers. The only thing that kept it from being five stars was to drink. I ordered a Bahama Mama and it tastes like straight juice. I will be back and will opt for a different drink.

Food was great. The server was awesome. Patient and explained food options well. She asked a about allergies. A little loud with birthday drum playing.

First time visit; Service from the hostess to the end was great. My waitress was "Jae" and she was attentive and kind. My dinner was fantastic, delicious, artful, and memorable. The atmosphere was nice. I hope to go back tobKani House very soon.

We had a good time here. We had our favorite hibachi place back where we used to live so now we've been looking for a new one near us. We saw this place one day and finally decided to try it. When we arrived we put our names on the list and waited for about 15min. We were called and seated with a big and nice family that were celebrating some birthdays. The waitress came to take our drink order. It took a while for her to come back with the waters. Then she took our food order. After about 10 min she brought our soups and then the salads. The chicken soup was pretty good, very similar to what we're used to. The only thing is that we didn't get one of those Japanese soup spoon and we had to use a regular spoon to drink the soup. Yeah I know not a big deal but based on the size of the soup cup and the spoon, it wasn't very easy to do so. I guess we were supposed to drink the soup from the cup, I guess?. Anyway not really a big deal, just would be better with the proper spoon. The salad was pretty good. Their ginger dressing is more to the sweet side. I liked it but my husband didn't. I ate both of our salads because for me the salad dressing was very good. The chef arrived not long after. He was a nice guy and made the show very enjoyable. My husband got the hibachi filet and I got the vegetables. The chef asked if I was vegan and I told him I just wanted to eat some more veggies that night. He began to cook and he made my rice first because I didn't want eggs in it. My rice and the veggies were very good! I also tried my husband's filet and it was amazing! Cooked just right! Definitely getting more next time. One thing we didn't like that much was the sauces. They are too sweet. I usually love yumyum sauce but I didn't like theirs so I sat it aside. It was too sweet. I'm used to a more creamy and savory yumyum sauce. The ginger sauce was also too sweet and watery. Not our favorite. The sorbet was very good. And I was very excited that it was included. The ambiance and the place needs to be updated. It looks a little old and cramped. Overall we had a good time. The food was good, just the sauces weren't what we expected.

Food was great! Bento box was so full of great options and has everything in it, even an entire sushi roll. The sherbert ice cream was a nice treat at the end! Oh, green tea was delicious too!

The food here is always exquisite. The staff is so friendly that I wished I lived near. The overall experience was nice. Just like the other locations. I got a booth all to myself because it's my business! Lol. It's never a bad idea to stop at Kani House! #ashsaidit

Both girls kept waiting on us which kind of got annoying because both of them would ask over and over if you were ready to order and then both of them brought the check. The Double tiger sushi was roll kinda fishy tasting (crab meat) and the shrimp looked raw. It was $1.50 extra for cream cheese The chicken Katsu came with the sauce already on it so then it's soggy if you wanna eat it later, but without it, it really had no flavor. We went for the dinner AYCE at $29.99 per person, and kids under 3 eat free. Our toddler (3) and baby, free of costs. But our toddler did have his own meal (chicken nuggies and fries...what a plus!) Keep in mind that some items are included in the per-person price, while others come with an additional charge. For example, the fried ice cream dessert was $1 per serving on top of the AYCE cost. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. Now, onto the revolving sushi belt experience. The bottom belt is full of pre-made sushi, circulating around, while the top belt carries the sushi you've specifically ordered via iPad. This is where a few concerns come in. Since the pre-made sushi is constantly circulating, you don't always know if someone has fiddled with it. As for the iPad ordering system, it was placed up above the top sushi belt, which was a bit of a nuisance. It would have been easier to use if it was within arm's reach, but again, not a major issue. We opted to order items that would take time to prepare and came directly to our table, so we could avoid the pre-made conveyor. The fried ice cream dessert was great, tasty--but the spoon they gave me was dirty and sticky. It honestly felt like it had been used by a kid before being handed to me. Needless to say, I didn't use it. Service was solid. Our server was helpful, especially since it was our first time, and walked us through the process. Overall, it was a decent experience, but there are a few things that could be improved, particularly with cleanliness and the setup of the revolving belts.

First, let me say that I love this restaurant. I live in South Metro Atlanta, so for me to come all the way up to Buford, Georgia to eat at this place, I really like it. My previous experience has been nothing short of excellent. Even on this visit, the food was excellent and I had no complaints with its quality or in the environment in the establishment. However, when I walked in, I was greeted my an extremely rude young man at the front counter. He was so rude that, I decided to leave and went back to my car. As I sat there, I had to remind myself that I had driven over an hour and it would have been foolish to leave at this point. So, I went back inside and ordered. Again, extremely rude to myself and my guest. It was so bad that my guest also noticed. Even in telling us where to sit, he acted as if I was bothering him by coming inside and ordering food. When our food arrived to the table, he just slammed it down and walked off like he was annoyed. What was even more telling about how, insanely, disturbing his behavior, was that when he and his 'shift' left and was replaced my some young ladies, the experience, completely changed! I mean, immediately changed. The young ladies were helpful, pleasant, and friendly. The mood changed so drastically like night and day. Again, this food is good! The environment is neat! But, if this young man is continued to be allowed to interact with customers, there will be some continued problems.

During my short time in the Buford area, I've come to this place twice in the last two days. The food brought me back as well as proximity to our hotel, however if I were local, the service would drive me away. The type of staff that seems more, interested in hanging out and talking with each other than actually serving the customers. First day I was here. I got the bulgogi Omurice dish and it was tasty. I expected the omelette actually cover the entire portion of rice (top and bottom like an omelette which it didn't. Nevertheless, served piping hot in the stone dish and the flavors were good and not overpowering, and the portion was large. A decent value. The second day, after learning a lesson from the previous one, my wife and I split the Bulgogi fried rice dish (which she had gotten the day before.) Again, the flavors did not disappoint. The rub came when my cousin and I, who have two Independent families and who paid separately, were bulked together as one large group so that a mandatory service fee could be tacked on. When I asked, they said the computer made them charge the service fee. This is in addition to having the system prompt for a tip in addition. The ironic part is that we weren't even standing next to each other in line. Then if you are going to charge a service fee, we would expect to have some solid service that is pretty prompt. Small things such as being able to get water when and as soon as you sit down (perhaps they were busy?), as well as having the sufficient amount of silverware (perhaps they just miscounted?) and actually people smile when they're helping you (perhaps it was the end of the day and they were tired?). Lots of hypotheticals. Just a higher expectation of service, especially when being subject to this service fee. Nevertheless, the family enjoyed the food. We are in and out and about 45 minutes and I'm leaving town today so it doesn't really matter but if you're looking for great service, this isn't the place for you but if you just need a quick bite to pick up and take back to your home or hotel,, go for it.

The restaurant is now dine-in only (no more hibachi tables), but the experience is still absolutely worth it. The ambiance was warm and cozy ; it honestly felt like walking into a family member's house for lunch, which made the experience even better. The servers were very sweet and attentive, checking in at the right moments and making us feel genuinely welcomed. One thing to note: parking is very limited. The lot is small and tight, so it can be a bit tricky, especially during busy hours. Now let's get into the food. The menu has so many options, from the sushi bar to kitchen meals, plus plenty of lunch specials. They even offer a build-your-own bento box, which is such a win. You can choose from about 9 selections ; 2 picks for $15 or 3 picks for $17. I created my own bento with white rice, chicken katsu, a sushi combo (salmon, crab, shrimp nigiri + 2-piece California roll), and fried shrimp & vegetable tempura. The lunch special also includes soup and salad. The miso soup was very salty; I'd rate that a 3/10. The salad was decent; the ginger dressing leaned more citrusy and very light on ginger, which made it different. I'd give that a 6.5/10. That said... the bento box itself was a solid 10/10. I got all of this for under $20, and every bite hit. I was starving, and this combo absolutely did the job; happy food dance included :) Great value, comforting atmosphere, kind service, and lots of options. I'll definitely be back to try more bento combinations whenever I'm in the area. Sushi Niko Niko is officially a lunch favorite again!
