I've been going to Oriental Pearl ever since I was 11. I'm 19 now and I'll tell you their standards have definitely lowered over the years. The food is okay and the price is slightly above average but I really don't trust what goes on behind closed doors in the kitchen. The worst part by far is their service. I visit Oriental Pearl around 3-4 times a year and 75% of the time I have a bad experience. Around the time you get finished eating the waitresses will stand 7 feet from the table just staring you and your family down in hopes you leave an abundant tip. They never ask if they can take your plate they just reach in front of your face like children. They have taken cash out of my grandmothers hand once thinking it was a tip. The worst moment of my Oriental Pearl experience happened last night (9/26/20) when they tried to charge me twice. We had a large group and we all sorta trickled out of the restaurant and they tried to tell us there was one who didn't pay. Oriental Pearl has been in business for a number of years. However, in the last couple of years they made some phenomenal upgrades and we have been very pleased to return to dining there. The food in the buffet is always fresh and the selection is amazing. In addition, there is a Mongolian grill provided which allows the diner to choose fresh raw foods and have them grilled. This is a super plus for those who have food allergies. The sushi is delicious and I love being able to add a touch of Wasabi to it. Nowhere have I seen wontons so cooked to perfection. (They are usually overdone). And the Hot and Sour Soup is my favorite. Their dessert is simple and one is usually too stuffed with delicious main courses to eat much anyway. However my meal is not complete without a small helping of tapioca. read more

We have been going to Oriental Pearl for years. We drive from Tulsa to Owasso just to eat at Oriental Pearl. And it's worth it. Here are some common sense tips for anyone going to a buffet, 1.) go during peak hours; meaning don't walk in at 3:00 pm and expect to have tables of fresh food when you're the only customer in the buffet, and 2.) leave a decent tip. The ladies who work there get $2.12 and hour PLUS TIPS, (even though it's a buffet). You don't work for pennies on the dollar, so don't expect someone else to. The food is great. The peel and eat cold shrimp on the dinner buffet is always fresh, the fried shrimp is good, along with the fried chicken wings, black pepper chicken, coconut shrimp, honey chicken, and the dumplings are amazing, especially with the oyster/soy sauce red pepper dipping sauce. The lunch buffet is also pretty delish. The hot crab salad is the bomb, and they have several hot shrimp dishes, including a seafood medley and shrimp with cabbage, both in the white sauce. The standard Chinese dishes are always tasty as well; lo mein, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, etc. For dessert, there's ice cream, chocolate and vanilla or twist, almond cookies, whipped desserts, and small pieces of cakes, usually mocha flavored or cookies and cream. Also, don't forget the fried donuts, which are amazing. The service is always top notch. But then again, we are regulars and make a point to tip our server well and they appreciate it, as we appreciate their great service. Lastly, the bathrooms are always clean, and I'm a stickler for a clean restroom. I wouldn't ever patronize an establishment with a dirty restroom. And for the hundreds of times we've been to Oriental Pearl, we have never, and I mean NEVER seen a bug or anything remotely unsanitary in the restaurant. In my previous life, I worked in several restaurants and I know a clean establishment from a marginal/poorly run one the minute I walk in the door and I would never eat, nor continue eating at an establishment where I thought the cleanliness and food handling was sub par. We love Oriental Pearl and look forward to returning for years to come! read more

Recently moved here. My husband and I trying out different restaurants. Well we decided to eat here. That was our mistake. The elderly lady seated us, no customer service to her. While we were eating a roach crawled up the wall onto our table. My husband took a napkin and killed. Needless to say we couldn't finish our dinner. Go to pay, told the guy at the counter. All he said was really.... No apology. No nothing.. We will not be back.. Just think if it crawls on the table with no worries what do you think happens when you dont see it.. We called beforehand and asked about pricing (10 minutes before we arrived for dinner.) They apparently quoted lunch prices, and when I got the bill, it was 30% higher than expected. They don't have good enough food to charge those prices. This place is not good. The food was old and stale and not hot. They barely had any sushi and when they did, the sushi falls apart when you pick it up. We have gone to Oriental Pearl many times over the 15 years we have lived in Collinsville and always enjoyed the buffet particularly when they had the crab legs. This place is very good, one of the only buffets I've been to in the Tulsa area even that actually restocks the food and keeps it fresh. I give it 4 stars because the only thing they could improve on is to maybe NOT put the weird cheese on the oysters/mussels, they're fine the way they are! No need to put cheese on them. Hostess was friendly, and table waitress came by several times to refill drinks, and ask if we wanted anything else. The Oriental Pearl is "going downhill" in service, food and appearance. My family chose this buffet yesterday because we have been pleased with it every time we've visited - and were all VERY disappointed. Your choices for vegetables was to either select Beef & Broccoli (only a TINY bit of broccoli) - or to pick up something from the Sushi bar selections (not much there, either). The restroom was FILTHY. They had placed heart-shaped dishes underneath both soap dispensers in the ladies' restroom to catch the excess soap. Why? So they could re-use it? Ugh!!! There were only three of us, but our ticket came to nearly $50, because a tip was ADDED to our receipt. Not realizing this was a evidently NEW practice of Oriental Pearl, we also left a tip on the table. Therefore, the waiter received a HUGE tip - and did nothing but bring our drinks, refill my water and clear our table. My family and I discussed it at length - and none of us will be returning until we see something that indicates there is new ownership and/or management! read more

Food is great, and so is the service. I often have my drink offered to be refilled before it reaches 1/3 empty, without any request. Only reason I am not rating it 5 stars is because they don't have a massive variety. I'd be thrilled if they tried new dishes to serve. I'm here in Owasso for a few weeks training for a new job. I pass this restaurant on my way to work and back. Despite the negative reviews on yelp, I finally decided to stop in and have dinner last night. I arrived at around 8:15pm and immediately noticed that the restaurant was somewhat empty. They close at 9:30pm. To my surprise all of the food that I normally eat when visiting a Chinese buffet was very fresh and delicious! Way better than the place in the city I live in. Worst experience. Been going to this buffet for 3 years and always get great service by the front staff. The last couple of time, cooks have been cussing at the customers for grabbing to much food.
