This place just opened for the first day on 2/20/21 and we had the chance to enjoy the food. We got the Origami Wrap and the Teriyaki Combo with Chicken and Shrimp with Fried Rice. One our favorite spots. We tried the teriyaki, tonkatsu, rolls, udon, takoyaki, sushi bake. The place is clean, which is rare for takeout places. They are accommodating and friendly. The food is good and the prices are excellent value. We get their specials a lot of times. Food is served hot and they have been great getting our orders out. The front guy who runs it is great- friendly and on top of things. I've watched how he's provided excellent customer service to other customers while we were waiting for our food. Even when we get takeout it's thoughtfully packed with my udon noodles in a separate bowl from the soup so it's not soggy. Couldn't be happier with this place. We went here for dinner a few weeks ago and enjoyed our sushi wraps as well as one of the scallop sushi bakes. I love the concept of the sushi bake, and the cute presentation, as well. It's basically a small casserole of sushi roll ingredients (minus the seaweed), heated up in a mini aluminum tin, and served with seaweed chips. It's kinda kitschy but yummy. I regret not paying the "half" extra to upgrade the size of my dragon sushi wrap! In it's standard size, the wrap feels a little small (especially for the price compared to other local places serving the same thing) but overall satisfying when you have a sushi craving. The whole team were very attentive to us, as we were the only customers inside for a while, which was nice and noted. They offer some different appetizers/sides, rice bowls (donburi, katsu, and teriyaki bowls), some sushi, udon, and wraps (sushi burritos) I was excited that they have sushi burritos. Unfortunately, all them are preset, so you would have to choose one of the choices on the menu. I had such a difficult time choosing because I am a picky and wanted to create my own sushi burrito like at other places I have been to. I was hoping that they would allow substitutions, which they did not - they allow you to take items out, but add items for an additional cost. It did not make sense to me - if I am taking items out, I should be able to add/substitute the item I am taking out with something different (something similar in price of course). I ended up with their Poke Wrap with salmon. I wish it had kani salad in it as well. The salmon did not taste as fresh as it should, and overall it was not the best experience. read more

I was extremely pleasantly suprised by this little sushi spot tucked away in a small plaza! I did not have high expections going in but I was very suprised. The fish quality and quantity, the flavor, and the price were all up to par. The only reason they are not at 5 stars is solely because of the time it took for me to receive my food. However, after waiting for 30 minutes and seeing lots of other people who ordered after me already got their food, I started to ask about my order and the employee said they're still working on mine. Man Origami is really such a good restaurant to have in the area. These super sized burrito style sushi rolls that have sprung up in popularity over the past few years has made it to San Ramon! Not gonna complain about that! The rolls here are delicious as well. Better in quality and taste than all the other sushi burrito style places I've been to. All the rolls I've had here are so full of flavor, and they just taste fresh. So many options to choose from as well! You really can't go wrong with any of the menu options. Legit the only reason why I'm docking one star is because of the portion size. 100% sure that the restaurant owners know that the ratio of price to portion sucks, but the portion size has definitely gotten bigger since their soft opening. I think they do what they can while still trying to provide quality ingredients. But the portion size still kinda sucks for how much we gotta pay. It's still really delicious food tho. The salmon bake is tasty too, but I could have eaten double the amount given. To get 5 stars, I have two friendly suggestions to management: (1) automatically put teriyaki sauce onto the cabbage and rice too, and (2) increase the size of the salmon bake.
