I recently moved to the area and trying new spots around San Ramon. We went here for dinner one night and the restaurant was pretty full but we were able to sit immediately. Staff were very nice and very attentive, we never went too long without being checked on. I am vegetarian and had plenty of options and enjoyed my food! My partner got a roll and said the fish was pretty okay (3.5 stars). We tried the garlic noodles, delicious, and the tempura, also delicious. Today, we decided to try Sachi Sushi. I think I tried it a few years ago and forgot why I never returned so I decided to write a review for today's visit. I parked in the back and walked through the door and was pleasantly greeted by the waitstaff. She gave me a nice seat by the front door next to the window. This was great so that when my friend walked in, they could see me right away. We ordered the tempura appetizer, Nigori silky mild sake, the Ichiban roll and the super dynamite roll. The appetizer was nice because it wasn't overly oily. And this is coming from a person who doesn't normally eat tempura unless it's in a roll. The Ichiban roll really didn't taste like anything to me and the super dynamite roll was not spicy at all. it had a sliver of jalapeño that gave it a tiny bit of a kick but if you didn't think about it, you wouldn't notice that it was there or not. I was there for lunch as a single. It's my first time. My expectations were very low for a sushi restaurant in north San Ramon. Clean, pleasant dining area. Staff were friendly. I ordered a unagi don. I figured it was an easy dish. The complimentary miso soup was very watered down. The salad dressing in the complimentary salad was also very watered down. It was obvious the owners wanted to cut cost. The donburi has five decent slices of unagi. The problem was the sauce. It was thin. The volume of sauce was tiny. It barely got to the rice. They didn't have green tea. They only had Chinese tea bag! (The restroom stunk like nobody's business!) Looking at the photos of giant colorful sushi rolls in the menu, this should be an okay place for the locals. That said, if you're a Japanese food connoisseur, avoid! read more

Not sure if they're trying to mislead but the actual price is higher than the menu price. I tried to call them out but the lady just told me the price changed. Probably a language barrier there. I got the lunch bento A. It was subpar. California roll isn't a real California roll either, it was just imitation crab sticks without mashing it and mixing it in mayo. Bit lazy for a cali roll when that's the easiest thing to make. The nigiri in my bento was also poorly made. They were just fat chunks of fish, kinda just like a rice ball. Tri-valley sushi quality is already kinda bad so I didn't expect much but this is the bad of the bad. Definitely better options around the area (for the Tri-valley at least). read more

I ordered the Garlic noodles for the table, then Tuna and Unagi nigiri plus the 49ers roll for myself. My wife ordered the Salmon teriyaki. Sister order the hamachi sashimi and miso soup. Came here recently with one of my friends cause we were craving sushi. We had always wanted a sushi boat and we had noticed they offered the sashimi lovers which comes on a boat with delicious sashimi on it. So we were all in! We happened to come right at opening time at 5 and quickly the restaurant was filling up shortly after. The people working here were so kind and helped us right away. It came with complimentary soup and salad which were also very tasty and they brought it out quick! We also ordered some edamame and it had a garlic added on which was tasty. The sashimi lovers boat came out quick too! It was filling, we probably could have skipped the edamame and still been full between the two of us but we were happy we got it. The sashimi was very fresh and tasted amazing. Lots of tables, clean and modern atmosphere. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back again. Came back as its been awhile. Still consistent whether bento box or sushi. My fav bento is chicken teriyaki, tempura and CA roll. That was satisfying. The sushi roll was good. Just be ready to be patient as they are short staffed. Good service experience, and the food was mediocre. The husband and I decided to check out this plaza in San Ramon and we stopped by Sachi Sushi for lunch to try something new. There's a good amount of seating indoors, and we didn't see any outdoor seating. We got seated quickly and were given our waters and menu quickly as well. We ordered the following - Bento - with chicken katsu and beef. It comes with rice, miso soup, and salad. This one looked nice and it tasted decent. The foods within it didn't stand out, but it wasn't terrible. Sushi Set B - comes with the daily roll - they called it a poki roll or something along the lines, and it was supposed to be a bit spicy, but it was rather bland, mostly with rice flavor. It also comes with several pieces of nigiri - tuna, salmon, shrimp, and a couple lighter pieces of fish. So a 6 piece roll + 5 pieces of nigiri. Not bad, but like another reviewer mentioned, some of the fish didn't look really fresh. There was some kind of dullness behind it. Again, it didn't taste terrible, but there wasn't much flavor to it. The sushi set came with miso soup and salad as well. I checked in on Yelp and the 1 free small house sake came up, so I asked about that, and were told that they knew nothing about it as they don't deal with Yelp so they weren't able to honor it. Went for dinner Saturday night with my family to Sachi Sushi. We hadn't been there since pre-pandemic. We were craving some nearby Japanese food and Sachi Sushi did not disappoint any of us! They were busy as expected on a Saturday night but we were seated right away to a nice clean table for four people. The staff was friendly and attentive. Got seated and ordered miso soup, Paradise roll and Dragon roll and Pan Fried Garlic Udon. By the way, I think she forgot our miso because I have to check and ask her halfway our meal when the other table got theirs and they came and ordered after us. Everything taste good. Dined in at Sachi Sushi for the first time since the pandemic started. I had the Chirashi, which was above average, but not super. My partner had a Combination Plate with Salmon Teriyaki and Sushi, which she enjoyed. She had requested that the salmon be cooked "rare," and the kitchen delivered, with the teriyaki sauce on the side (as it should be). The sushi was solid but not spectacular - average-sized slices of fish (and cooked shrimp), and the sushi rice was ok. There are a few outdoor tables, but most dining in indoors with reasonably-spaced tables. We dined on Labor Day Monday at around 6:30, and did not have to wait. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and always wore masks. I would go to Sachi Sushi again if I wanted solid Japanese food (although it is a little on the expensive side for the area). Came to sachi sushi on a rainy Saturday based on decent Yelp rating and price of food. The place is located right next to Trader Joe's, conveniently you can add in some grocery shopping before or after meal. The day of our visit, rainy Saturday night, The restaurant was very dead, only one other table was there besides ours. The staff and service was prompt and pleasant. We ordered the sashimi platter, (ankimo)monkfish liver appetizer, 2 rolls: cherry blossom and lion king, and tempura soba. The ankimo was very frozen, just thawed and brought out so a little disappointing as it was still icy on some parts, seems as if not many people order it. The cherry blossom salmon seemed it had been sitting around for a bit. The sashimi, great presentation but the fish all seemed a bit frozen, and not of best quality. My only favorite of the night was the tempura soba, it was airy, and soba had a nice soothing broth. Overall, I was underwhelmed with the experience and maybe in the future will try to give this place another chance. Funny enough, prior to entering the restaurant and noticing how dead it was, we joked and said should we just go next door for Thai food (andamin Thai, they were packed and their food has yet to disappoint me). 3 stars for the service and good noodle and tempura, but would skip the sushi here. read more

Great little gem tucked away in marketplace. It's right next to Trader Joe's, and apparently they've just finished renovating. I ordered the combo bento w/ teriyaki salmon, gyoza, and tempura. I usually judge a Japanese place on tempura and they actually make it really good here. The service is great with a warm towel, free edemame, and water right when you walk in. We went to our neighborhood Japanese restaurant for the first time and I don't know why it took so long! It is open for SIP and we called at 5:00 for a take-out. I loved how we could do it online or by phone. The person who took the order was very nice and we picked up the food in 40 minutes. When we got to the door, it was blocked by a table and the table was filled with to go orders. It seemed so clean and safe. We got our neatly packed food and went home. Everything was made correctly! I love this place. I take myself on a solo date every once in a while and I love it. The staff is super sweet and attentive and the place is quiet as it is tucked away right next to Trader Joe's. I normally keep it simple with nigiri and can always tell it's very fresh and well prepared. In the past I have asked for chef recommendations and I always trust his recommendations. Based on the two rolls I had today and fast welcoming customer service just for ordering take out. I was greeted immediately upon walking in by a really nice sushi chef with a smile on his face (1 star). As I stood looking through the menu I was helped and even given suggestions by a nice server (2 stars). My order was ready before the time they quoted me (3 stars). The two rolls we ordered where phenomenal the crunchy CA roll and super dynamite roll. Even on the 15 minute drive I had the food was still warm and delicious (5 stars). The CA roll had a spicy wasabi sauce and crunchies that made it so good. The roll itself was pretty chunky and fresh tasting. The dynamite roll had a good amount of yellowtail in the middle and garlic mixed in. They were busy, but staff was friendly, my roll came in a decent amount of time and for $16.99 I was not complaining. Roll tasted fresh, came with speed and looked good on presentation.
