The food at Origami is always amazing! It's easily a top 3 restaurant for me, I'm coming here at the minimum once a week, but most weeks I'm here at least 2 or 3 times! The service is always pleasant & all the workers are very nice and are always doing their best! I appreciate all there hard work they do! To the three servers I've had the most experiences with, you are all amazing! Come here and eat a tasty meal with a calm environment & great service! (Also to my poor waitress who was harassed today by a customer - I'm very sorry that some people have no empathy for service workers. Located in a hidden plaza, there is plenty of free parking fronting the restaurant and in the parking area of the plaza. Get the salmon bake!! I've always wanted to try a sushi bake after seeing it blow up on social media, but never wanted to get all of the ingredients to make it. When I saw that this spot sold it, I knew I had to come. I placed my order online for pickup, and it was ready when I arrived. The salmon bake comes in a cute little tray that looks small, but is actually quite hefty. It also comes with a pack of seaweed which isn't really enough so I'd recommend getting an extra or getting one of your own. The salmon bake is a base of seasoned sushi rice topped with kani, salmon, avocado, unagi sauce, spicy mayo, tobiko, and furikake. The first bite was absolutely delicious! All the flavors work together so well, and it's even better wrapped in the seaweed piece. It's basically a deconstructed sushi roll but is somehow so freaking good. Like it said it does seem really little at first, but this really filled me up since it was so dense. Certainly a great lunch, and I would highly recommend trying it! My daughter suggested we try this place, but from the moment we arrived, it was underwhelming. The restaurant is whitewashed and sparsely decorated--more a bare-bones effort than an ambiance. Even the standard Subway interiors outshine this. But let's set the uninspired decor aside. We were greeted by a single staff member pulling quadruple duty as the cashier, waitress, hostess, and busgirl. While not outright rude, she was far from welcoming, with an air that was, frankly, indifferent. We ordered a selection of Miso Soup, Salad, Tempura, Gyoza, two wraps, two combination teriyaki plates, and a chicken teriyaki, totaling $91--a hefty price for a place of this caliber. Yet, the true disappointment was yet to come. Our Miso Soup, Salad, Tempura, and Gyoza never arrived. Ten minutes later, the indifferent hostess returned with only the teriyaki dishes, effectively calling it a day. When I asked her to cancel the missing appetizers, soup, and salad, she did so reluctantly, seemingly unable to grasp that people might prefer their appetizers before their main courses. To top it off, the food was anything but authentic Japanese. Having lived in Tokyo, I can say this tasted more Hawaiian than Japanese. I won't be returning to this place. read more

Origami decor near the walls. Nothing too fancy, its nice overall. PRICE: Each wrap order is basically a half order. Read the small print above where the wraps are. For a regular adult, one order might not be enough, you will probably have to order a double to feel full. If you are a small eater or on a diet, one order should be enough to fill your tummy. STAFF: Friendly staff. Salmon bake {4/5 stars, $12.95} - Basically what you would call a Lion king roll, but instead of the individual rolls its a bake (Think lasagna style). Delicious. Topped with the sweet unagi sauce and tobiko. Salmon was cooked well, juicy and tender. 2. Beef Teriyaki {3.5/5 stars, $13.95} - Huge portion of beef, rice, and veggies. I love the sautéed cabbage and zucchini. The beef was just ok, tender and juicy, but over salty even with teriyaki sauce on side. Service: Ordered through the website, they use Clover software. Easy process. Food was ready in 20 minutes after order was placed. Only downside was that they did not tell you when order is ready like some places do. Order was hot and ready and employee was nice. Inside: Small and cozy. A few tables and benches to eat at with self service soda fountain. A more of a quick grab n go place id admit. I visited a few times back during their "soft opening" in February and March, and although I found the offerings to be delicious, the portions seemed a tad dainty for the price. Based on the other reviews, I am not the only one to hold this sentiment. However, it is refreshing to know that management takes all of this critique to heart, and sizes have indeed increased! I returned in June to follow up on things. This time around, I sampled the Dragon Wrap, Diablo Wrap, Salmon Bake, and Ikageso Karaage. Immediately I noticed the items were more pleasing to the eye than I remembered, and after I was done devouring my share, instead of walking out still hungry like I was before, I was absolutely stuffed! In addition, since quality has never been an issue, thankfully, nothing has changed in this regard. Fast, casual dining doesn't necessarily have to mean low level ingredients! Review is for Doordash Order. Origami takes over from TW Burmese and fills a niche with sushi burritos. Sushirrito in San Francisco popularized the concept, and Danville used to have Poke Roll before it folded and got taken over by Sakiya. I agree that for the price, you probably need to order two rolls to get full. Both the San Ramon and Origami Roll are similar except for maybe one ingredient. San Ramon has cream cheese while Origami has a crispy tempura shrimp. Ingredients were fresh and the textures and color contrast make for an enjoyable lunch. They have an excellent miso soup appetizer that I recommend for $2.50. Completely loaded with seaweed and soft tofu cubes. Wife ordered the Salmon Teriyaki. She enjoyed the side of sautéed veggies as opposed to the typical boring salad. However, the dish was way more rice than fish and the fish itself was on the dry side. For $2 more, the Salmon Teriyaki plate at nearby Senro is a better deal. read more

The quality and flavor of their fish and sauce is so delicious. I tried the Origami wrap and salmon bake. The origami wrap had salmon, tuna, tempura, and a lot of creamy sauce, which I loved. Normally sushi wraps taste bland to me because there's too much rice, but Origami had such a large amount of fish and sauce, which made it so delicious. There was a lot of flavor in each bite - you could really taste each fish and the crunchy tempura. The salmon bake was my favorite because it tasted more flavorful than your average sushi roll. The sauce and avocado were really creamy, but it didn't overpower the fish. The really unique part to me was the carmelized onions, which I don't see put in with most fish dishes. It also comes with dried seaweed - I suggest wrapping the bake in the seaweed and eating it like a deconstructed wrap. It gives it a salty crunch. Although Origami has been away for 6 months or so, I just heard about them and decided to drop in to grab lunch for me and my wife. This is a very new, super clean, quaint and I believe a family rum business. We tried a few thinks and learned a learn more about the restaurant food serving size. We tried a Dragon Wrap, Fried Chicken Wings and Ikageso Karaage (marinated fried squid). All of the food is very fresh, well flavored and the fried items are cooked in fresh oil at the right temperature so they are not oily. The person taking my order asked if I wanted the "Double" size which after the fact, I figured out that it was perfect for my wife but for the average person you want to order the double option (which costs 50% more but two pieces). Overall the restaurant is nicely decorated, servers are polite, food is very good but pricing is a bit high. I would need to order a Teriyaki plate and two sides to be full not stuffed which places them in the higher end of pricing for Japanese food. However, in all fairness, it is very possible that Origami's inventory costs are high due to current shortages and the items are priced in the middle of the market. Bottom line, we'll definitely go again but not on a regular basis. There are a few restaurants we go to on frequent basis that have good valued food (good sized servings of very good food). read more

The scallop bake came with a packet of seaweed, but there weren't too many pieces of seaweed in the pack compared to the size of the bake. The bake itself was super tasty, not too heavy on the sauces, I wish there were more scallops on top compared to the amount of imitation crab. The lion king wrap was pretty average. It was wrap nicely, didn't fall apart when I ate it. Tasted good, but not amazing or out of the ordinary from a regular sushi wrap.
