We ended up at Origen by accident. We were supposed to go somewhere else but it was closed. Turns out my husband surfs with the owners and chats with them at Blacks often. Manuel was such an incredible waiter. The fact that he's an owner serving tables says something about his commitment, especially on a high surf weekend! The food was incredibly fresh. Manuel guided us through the tapas and it was perfect. We had the aqua chile, smoked tuna flautas, short rib mole quesadillas and crab tostadas. My husband said he wanted to drink the aqua chili sauce it was so good and Manuel made him a cocktail out of it with his favorite tequila! We finished it off with the chocolate cake and I can not even believe how delicious it is. I've never had a chocolate cake like that...rich, creamy, buttery. Honestly the best I've ever had. I don't drink so I had a very good nonalcoholic beer. It's open to the street and it was a nice cool breeze after a rain so it really was very cozy as well.
