If you're in San Diego and love fish tacos, this place is a MUST! The shrimp, red snapper, and salmon tacos were absolute bomb! The fresh toppings and the salsa the perfect amount of flavor. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The owners make you feel like family and spend time explaining all of the menu and ensure you get your perfect order in. The food and atmosphere is majestic. I've had plenty of Mexican food, but this place seriously stand out. Add in the Old Town atmosphere right next to the Whaley house and it makes for the perfect Old Town San Diego experience. 10/10 -- I'll definitely be back!

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food I do recommend you try this! The burrito reminded me of my own family's home cooked meals which is a compliment in its own as I am hard to please when it comes to latin foods being of latin heritage myself. The crunchy tacos were good but not as seasoned. The hot sauce was also very flavorful with two options of either mild or hot. If I come back I am prone to try their snapper tacos and flautas. They take reviews seriously and listen to feedback. They adjusted their seasoning and it was perfect on their carne asada! Their agua frescas are also worth taking note of. I only tried their banana and horchata so far but was not disappointed. Flora and her husband are amazing cooks. Will look forward to the next time I visit!

They recently moved locations and don't have their full menu available, sadly. We got a few dishes to try and thought the best was the Surf and Turf taco. The Red Snapper was really disappointing because the ingredients weren't balanced well and it ruined the whole thing. I got the Potato Tostada and was disappointed that there was bits of steak in there. I told the staff about it and they didn't care. I also got told I couldn't use the bathroom because they didn't think I was a customer. They didn't say it nicely either. Practically barked at me to buy something first and didn't apologize when I told them I had already finished what I ordered from them.

If you are ever in Old Town San Diego and in the mood for an outdoor eating experience, give this spot a try. There is street parking not far from the entrance. The restaurant is situated slightly off the main street, next to the Whaley House. There is a standing fold sign on the curb that directs you to where you can walk up to the seating area, which is beautifully shaded with trees. The seating has additional coverage and you won't suffer on super hot days. There are two kiosks to use to place your order. It's s accessible for people with disabilities; there is a ramp as well as a staircase. Honorable mention: The bathroom was immaculately clean! I ordered a crispy red snapper taco and my honey had the crispy red snapper burrito. We also had horchata and banana frescas. Muy delicioso!!!! Everything we ordered was so fresh, so delicious. Flor's customer service is impressive. I had no idea I was actually speaking to Flor when I asked if there was a tip jar or something of the sort. She is sweet, friendly and made us feel so welcome. I can't wait to try more of her tasty meals. I have my eye on the hot Cheeto burrito for my next visit!!!

My son and I took a break from painting and it was late and we were so hungry. He found a farm to table Mexican restaurant in Old Town so we set off on our mission. Flor's had a great looking menu. We ordered from the kiosk while discussing what was good with one of the owners. I decided on the Kracken taco which was an octopus taco and a crackling red snapper taco. My son decided on the crackling salmon burrito. Our food came out and as you can see the tacos were huge. Took one bite of the kracken taco and immediately wanted more. Both of my tacos were delicious and the kracken was beyond amazing. Next time I go i need 2 of those!!! This restaurant is a MUST try in Old Town. It was fresh and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were reenergized from lunch and sitting at their bar. It was beautiful with the big tree and had a nice breeze.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We felt much better, went back and finished our painting. Thank you for a wonderful lunch! Mission complete.

If you want a great place to get out of the sun and grab a bite to eat make sure you come to flors ! They got amazing stuff on their menu, I love their shrimp and also their steak tacos! They're always quick to serve you and with a friendly smile! This is a family owned business so it's awesome to be able to support that! They have a relaxing space to sit down and eat and you also get an awesome perspective of the Whaley house museum. I come here basically everyday for lunch and they never disappoint! Love you flor !

Pretty sure the reviews here are bots. When one thinks of "farm to table" one thinks of imagery that evokes freshness and light organic flavors. Flor's is none of these things. Heavy sauces, frozen meats and shrimp. The food has zero flavor. Zero service. Probably the worst resturant that I've ever been to in San Diego. Avoid.

First stop in SD to finally get some good Mexican food, coming from a town where we have very little. I love the farm to table concept, especially how they prep the veggies diced so small. Got the snapper(2.5/5) and Asada tacos (4/5), overall they were surprisingly lacking in flavor with the toppings, the asada meat itself was very tasty though. Order at a kiosk, shared seating area so service was nearly non existent, but they're open about that being the set up. A 3/5 to me is just neutral, I neither loved it nor hated it. Old town is so fun, worth stopping if you're visiting nearby.

The service is great. Very friendly staff. The food was amazing! It tastes so fresh. I had the red snapper taco that was to die for, and two crispy asada tacos. The ambiance was great. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Needed a spot before my bus arrived. We found this spot and decided to check it out. Here was our experience. AMBIANCE Parking: Old Town parking, there's free street parking, paid parking, and if you can there's a trolley stop. Seating: Outside seating both table seating and shaded bar seating. Room for maybe about 30 people or so. Vibes: Welcome to Old Town - the "birthplace of California." You'll feel the mix of early Mexican and Spanish history all around--shops, restaurants, and occasional live performances if you catch them. This spot itself is a bit tucked away (pass the haunted house and you'll find it), but once you're there, it's a great place to relax and enjoy your meal. FOOD / DRINKS Salmon Crackling Burrito (Recommend) Delicious. Crispy fried salmon paired with cabbage, salsa, chipotle sauce, crema, and pico--every bite hits that balance of crispy, creamy, fresh, and slightly spicy. Not your typical burrito--in a good way. SERVICE Awesome! Friendly people and quick with the service TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Wonderful! Good food, lovely selections, and a pleasant experience. If you're looking for something different from your usual taco/burrito rotation, this is it. The flavors stand out, and the salmon option alone makes it worth the visit. TIPS: * Don't sleep on the seafood options--this spot clearly knows what they're doing with fish.

    RED SNAPPER BURRITO

Really good food! Get the red snapper burrito!! They are really nice and sweet. Dont listen to the negative reviews

Let me first say that the folks there were very nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can order at touch screens up on the porch and then take a seat in the side garden dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Two of us ordered the taco Tuesday special which was a drink, three little street tacos and a side of tortilla chips. The tacos were shrimp, red snapper and a beef of some sort. They were okay, nothing to write home about. One of our group got a burrito, he eats lots of burritos but only ate a couple bites of this one. Unfortunately he did not like it at all. He asked me to try it and to be honest, neither did I. It was very dry and very bland. We ended up throwing 2/3 of it away. The last person had a simple order, a cheese quesadilla.

    Alejandra E.

The food was okay, the meat and shrimp were seasoned well but the tortillas were served cold & the salsa was underwhelming. It's self order at a kiosk & the menu is pretty basic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's located beside the Whaley House Museum so the view is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was hungry after a tour but I could not finish the flauta. I'll have to get food from another establishment.

The Cheeto Burrito just sounded fun, little did I know that it would be the best burrito ever!!

Can you accommodate a party of 10 in one table?

Not likely on one table, maybe if you push two tables together and eat inside. It's not a big location so you would have to be the first ones there to ensure that you could accomplish such a feat.

There were a couple of groups dining in and someone picking up a to-go order, but there was still plenty of seating available. The employee working the counter was friendly. They also serve alcohol, and during my visit drinks were 20% off. Options included Pacifico, Modelo, Blue Moon, hard seltzers, and a selection of canned craft beers. I ordered: * Mahi Mahi Taco: the fish tasted fresh, and I liked the crispy onions on top. There was quite a bit of sauce, which made it pretty messy to eat. While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

Sometimes, there are nights when only tacos can fix me. It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

The highlight of the menu is the Keka Taco. It is incredibly delicious, loaded with flavor, and so filling that it can easily satisfy even the biggest appetite. The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times. I picked a place off Google but when we landed there we were not comfortable stopping to park, so we looked again and decided to check out La Puerta not realizing it was in the Gaslight District. I am not a fan of the Gaslight District, which is why I am so mad!! I'm going to HAVE to go back to the Gaslight District!! The food was AMAZING!! I HIGHLY recommend the Potato Flautitas. It's the kind of dish I'm going to dream about, I'm salivating now just thinking about them. I also did the Pick 3 Street Tacos (and actually ordered a 4th). The Ranchero Shrimp and Grilled Veggie were top notch. The Conchinita was recommended by our waiter, and it was interesting, tasty but different. It could have used a little more pickled onion. The only one I would not recommend (shockingly, I thought it would be the easy pass) was the carne asada. It was too greasy. My husband ordered a carne asada quesadilla and said the same, it was too wet and soaked through the tortilla. But there were no many other delightful options, I would say just don't go traditional. But honestly my favorite thing on the plate was the side dish rajas con crema, seriously, that alone is going to drag me down to the Gaslight District. I'm even considering going to a Padres game just for the excuse. I'm salivating again! As for our waiter, Colin, he was fantastic. Very informative, made great suggestions and seemed genuinely pleased by our satisfaction. He was smiling the whole time, friendly and stayed very present. I highly recommend you get yourself through the door at La Puerta and sit down for a meal ASAP. (We ate the food so fast I forgot to take pictures.)
