Very welcoming Mexican food establishment. Seating was fast, as they have a spacious dining area, large wrap around bar and outside dining options. Wait staff was lovely, and our cocktails kept us thirsty! We certainly left content.

I've been meaning to check this eatery out and finally did so a couple of years ago. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is inviting and staff are friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were given complimentary chips and salsa and then ordered some drinks that came with watermelon garnish. We shared the spicy mango ceviche and a cheese crisp for our appetizers. Both were delicious! The cheese crisp was very interesting! We opted for the spicy tiger shrimp fajitas for our entree. It's served with blistered peppers, charred onions, jack cheese, guacamole, salsa fresca, sour cream, choice of beans and tortillas. It was very tasty! We ended up trying frozen margarita and an agua fresca as well. The frozen margarita is so refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. For dessert, we got the tres leches cake and it was the perfect ending to our dinner.

Love this restaurant! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have lots of seating area inside & outdoors but it's busy with locals & tourists.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat at the bar and ordered or else the wait was over an hour for a table. We enjoyed the ceviche and the carne asada quesadilla. They give chips & salsa and yes they are yummy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of fun people to see and the bar has TVs with sports playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It gets very loud inside and it's very kid friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bartenders are spot on and very friendly. It's a great place to come grab a bite to eat & drink.

We spotted this cantina and restaurant while visiting the AR Workshop in Coronado. We decided to try them out while waiting for the rest of our party members for our appointment at AR Studio. I walked up to the take out window and ordered. A young gentleman helped me. He said that my food would be out in 12-15 minutes. Well, I found a table on the side if the catina and set my things down. I noticed that the staff had also used these tables to meet with the managers or employees, and to eat their lunch break meals. AT NO TIME DID ANYONE ON THE STAFF TELL ME THAT I SHOULD BE SITTING IN THE AREA TO BE SERVED ON THE CATINA PATIO. My food took 22 minutes and I had to walk back up to the window to retrieve it...WTH I tipped 15% at a walk up window and you all can't walk it to my sidewalk table 10 feet away? The rest of our party started to arrive so they decided to also order food. Luckily, their food was ready in 10 minutes. The staff delivered their orders to our table, which made more sense. Overall, it was OK. My wet carne asada burrito no sour cream, diet pepsi, and chips with salsa was tasty but definitely not worth the $30 pricetag. I will not visit again. The customer service was spotty and the whole dining at the sidewalk tables for staff situation was not cool.

Crispy Shell Ground Beef & Traditional Carnitas tacos ($7/each HH menu)

While visiting Coronado, I stopped for dinner and happened to arrive during the restaurant's happy hour: Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe of the restaurant was pretty dope. They have an outdoor seating area blended with indoor seating. The decor was stunning. I loved the wallpaper and light fixtures. The tunes were bumpin'. The restaurant wasn't surprisingly too busy and was pretty family-friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was so excited to take a bite into my first CA tacos! As I settled in and opened the menu, full transparency: I was shocked to see the "happy hour specials: $7 tacos"... regularly $14!? Thinking these HAD to be next-level incredible, I stopped judging and ordered two "Birria" tacos, two "traditional Carnitas" tacos, and a "crispy shell Ground Beef" taco. We paired our tacos with their "Classic" house Margarita. Chips and salsa were brought to the table with our drinks, and we enjoyed those for a bit before the food came out. I wish I were writing this to report that I had the best tacos of my life, but sadly, that's not the case. The Birria taco had an excessive amount of untrimmed fat in the meat, which made each bite unpleasant and forced me to spit out pieces I couldn't chew. This made the overall texture unappealing and the experience disappointing. Not my preferred way to enjoy my tacos. I don't believe this was an issue of happy hour pricing, but rather poor food preparation. I was only able to finish one taco and took the other to-go. As for the traditional carnitas taco, it was okay but lacked anything that set it apart. I say this with kindness, but if you've had a TB crunchy taco supreme, you've tried this restaurant's crispy shell ground beef taco. The classic margaritas were strong and well made. We thoroughly enjoyed them! If you asked me, would I go back for seconds? I'd likely not reorder the tacos. For the price, I expected higher-quality preparation and presentation; instead, it fell short. Personally, I'm glad I visited during Happy Hour. I'd file this one under cool place for drinks and a light bite, if you must.

We took the Old Town Trolley tour and decided to stop in Coronado to have some lunch and check out the Hotel Del Coronado. On the way to the hotel from the trolley stop, we decided to try Blanco Cocina + Cantina. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived around 11:00 on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, but it got pretty crowded by the time we left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything we had tasted great and would love to go back again. It was nice that we could get the street corn already off the cobb since it made it easier for my daughter. The queso also didn't come with chips, but our server gave us more chips from the chips and salsa that comes with the meal.

I can't believe I haven't noticed this spot in Coronado before! There's a quaint and cute dog-friendly patio outside which was just what we were looking for on a beautiful early Saturday afternoon. We were seated within just a few minutes. I must say, everything from the food to the drinks were fabulous! We got their margarita tree, which was well-priced for four drinks total, and each one was delicious. The mandarin strawberry marg was definitely the favorite between the both of us. You could taste the fresh fruit and it was a perfect amount of sweetness. Really enjoyed the salsa & asked if they had a spicier one. To my delight--they did and it had a perfect punch! The mahi taco and carne asada taco were both 9/10 for me as well, with great flavor and soft, luxurious housemade tortillas. Could use just a bit more acidity, even a little lime on the side would suffice. The rice was ok, the beans were better!! Overall, that spicy salsa really enhanced everything for me :) Excited to come back and try more items. Service was also quick and lovely. Definitely a new go-to in Coronado.

    Shrimp tacos

If you come here you must get the shrimp tacos. The handmade tortillas with the perfectly cooked shrimp and the salsa are chefs kiss! We started dinner with the queso fundido and the most refreshing Paloma mocktail. Again, the shrimp tacos were amazing! Paired with charro beans (good) and white rice. Now I'm not sure what is in the rice but I was not a fan. Very buttery.

Great Mexican restaurant walking distance from Hotel Del. Sat at a table as I was with a group but next time, would love to check out their spacious bar! Tried the skinny margarita, queso dip, ceviche, and short rib bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty! Didn't try the tortilla soup or fish taco but took pics. Good food and service with cool vibes. Will definitely visit again to try their other menu items and cocktails.

Cheese crisp- really a quesadilla with French fries and bacon.
    Brandi E.

This is not great for breakfast, French toast was cold, moldy (literally) and soggy. The cheese crisp was disgustingly heavy, just mounds of orange cheese with random French fries and bacon on a huge tortilla. They took the moldy French toast off our bill but we will not be back. The service was slow, but friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is nice, the only reason for the two stars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The fajitas were some of the best I have ever had! The sauce they were in was perfect, and the beef was super tender. I also had the strawberry mandarin agua fresca, and that was lovely.

Finally the weather warms back up. So you know what that means! Walking around Coronado Island! Honestly, it's always a good time to go to Coronado (sans 4th of July, ugh). I digress. As my cute companion & I looked for a place to relax after walking around town, we happened upon Blanco. We were drawn in by the bar, the vibe, and the score (Rams won! Yay!). What better way to pass the time than with a few drinks & some gridiron drama? It was a very close game! As we sat at the bar perusing the drink menu, choosing which margarita to order, we realized there was another side of the drink menu. Two words: Margarita. Tree. If you like margaritas and fancy a challenge, this is your order! You get your choice of 4 flavors that hang from this cool little agave plant base! Presentation, thy name is Blanco! Our margarita choices in no particular order, as they were all delectable: Jalapeño & Pineapple, Mango Stand, Rosa Bonita, and Spicy Skinny. There is no wrong answer here. We didn't have anything else other than chips & salsa, as we had dinner reservations elsewhere. But if the food is a good as the margaritas, we're definitely coming back! TL:DR - Margaritas!

We had lunch today at Blanco Cocina. Everyone wanted fish tacos and I have to say, they were delicious. There are many choices on the menu, so I went with the fish taco and carnitas. Both were so good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean and our service was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is where you can find it on the street. This is a good pick when you are in Coronado.

His questions guided my indecision towards a Berkshire Old Fashioned that was fantastic despite my fumbling to get there. With the warm up round over and the old fashioned loosening up my creativity, round two was set to be a knockout. I love coffee (specifically strong espresso drinks), so I asked for a strong, coffee infused, punchy cocktail, but with a different base of alcohol from the old fashioned. What came out was the best cocktail I will probably ever have in my life. The bourbon cocktail with coffee liqueur (and a number of other garnishes I will never remember) hit the bullseye. Flavorful, strong, bold, delicious all at the same time. Unfortunately (?), this was a noble experiment so I'll forever be chasing the white whale of what this drink was. But that's the allure.

Seréa at Hotel del Coronado A Five-Star Coastal Experience…read more We had an absolutely outstanding five-star meal at Seréa, the oceanfront restaurant at the iconic Hotel del Coronado (right next to Nobu). The setting was breathtaking...! Sweeping views of the Pacific, elegant coastal decor, string lights, and swaying palms creating the perfect atmosphere for a special evening. Our cocktails were light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced, made with freshly muddled berries. Service from Brett was impeccable from start to finish; warm, attentive, and professional. Instead of the usual appetizer + entrée route, we decided to build our entire meal around a selection of appetizers so we could sample more dishes. It was an excellent choice! Variety really is the spice of life. We started with the house sourdough focaccia: warm, spongy, and perfectly golden, served with a flavorful dipping sauce that we couldn't stop eating. The crispy saganaki was golden and addictive, with bright, complementary flavors. The crispy calamari was light, perfectly fried, and tossed with capers, fresh herbs, and a zesty lemon-chili aioli. We finished with the garlic harissa chicken kabob: tender, well-seasoned chicken with a tangy harissa yogurt, served with warm flatbread and roasted vegetables. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully executed. From the stunning ocean views and creative coastal cuisine to the warm hospitality, Seréa delivered a memorable experience. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

For being one of the premier restaurants at 'The Del', it's run by a bunch of FOH and BOH clowns. We had a reservation and requested to be seated indoors, and we watched not one, not two, but three back-and-forth conversations that the hostess had to have with the manager in order to make that happen. The crowd here consists mostly of pretentious and obnoxious rich people, and the decor is Pottery Barn Coastal Chic. We got a crappy table and that intro to Serea pretty much dictated how the rest of the night went. It took our waitress almost 15 minutes to come and acknowledge our existence, and while she was very nice and actually seemed competent at her job, it was clear she was in the weeds and couldn't handle her section. We got two $23 cocktails that had clearly spilled on their way to the table; the gimlet was OK and the Old Fashioned could have been made by your local Irish bar. For apps, we started with the grilled octopus and the swordfish "tacos." They put the octopus plate down and said, "Careful, it's really hot," which is code for: "this has been sitting under a heat lamp for a while." So, no surprise, the meat was rubbery and the tentacles were like slime. There was so much raw onion on top of everything it was absurd. At least the potatoes were cooked correctly! The pita of the taco was from a supermarket and while the sauce and fish weren't bad, there was, again, a mountain of raw thinly sliced red onion that overwhelmed everything. For mains, we do have to say the crusted seared tuna was the one decent dish of the evening. It was cooked correctly and we enjoyed the accompanying dolmas. Our daughter got a fish and chips where the breading on the fish immediately fell off. Even an 8-year old can tell when there's a fool running the kitchen and observed with some chagrin that "there's more chips than fish." The biggest sin, though, was the avgolemono--which was saltier than the ocean outside--and had zero lemon and zero dill. It was a $32 bowl of brown salt water with some chicken floating around it. Anyway, we shouldn't be surprised that this place underdelivered this egregiously, but we were shocked by just how bad it actually was. Two stars, barely. Go elsewhere.

I also loved how much attention they put into the presentation. Every drink looked like a piece of art and added to the whole tiki experience. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to answer questions and made great recommendations without making us feel rushed. AMBIANCE: 10/10 This is easily the highlight of the experience. The entire space is beautifully designed, and every little detail makes it feel like you've escaped into a hidden tropical bar. It's cozy, intimate, and unlike any other place I've been to in San Diego. Reservations are definitely worth making since the space is on the smaller side and fills up quickly. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that, while the experience and ambiance were amazing, the drinks are definitely on the pricier side. I understand you're paying for the craftsmanship and atmosphere, but it's probably not somewhere I'd visit regularly because of that. It's common for tiki bars to be pricey so it was to be expected. Overall, I'm really glad I finally got to experience False Idol. If you're in San Diego and enjoy creative cocktails in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend checking it out at least once!
