Great lunch spot! My favorite order is the chicken and prosciutto sandwich with a bag of salty chips and a black iced tea. Each bite is a little bit of heaven. You get the salty from the chips and pickle spear, the savory from the grilled chicken and prosciutto, and even just a little bit of sweet from the thin spread of fig jam on that sandwich that just pulls it all together! We came in for lunch, and we were greeted with a computer screen to place our order ourselves. No one working would even say "Hi, welcome in" or "Is there anything we can help you with?" Or even a simple smile...Customer service has gone out the window. It was just order yourself at their computer screens (but make sure to tip them!!!) and no one will even acknowledge you. Oh, and I couldn't help but notice the salads are now made with cheaper ingredients than they used to be (Judging by other reviews on here, other customers are noticing, too). When the food came out, we had to flag someone down for some of our missing items, and I realized after the fact that my salad was also missing avocado. This place is clearly cutting costs lately in food quality and service. It might be ideal for some, but I would rather cook at home than go out to pay for poor quality (at a now higher price), missing ingredients, and tip them when I'm doing half of the work. read more

We went in on a Ssturday afternoon. It wasn't very busy. We received our food rather quickly. Only one problem. We didn't order a side of hair. When we brought it back the staff said they would get it fixed right away. We waited about 10 minutes, and then I went back up to check on the order. The girl at the counter completely acted like I was bothering her. She completely forgot to place my order. My wife and I finished our meals long before the meal showed up. In their defense the meal did finally come out hot and fresh. Edit: Chop Shop reached out to us and made things right. This is one of our favorite spots. Love ChopShop. Each location is run pretty well, has a friendly staff, and has a vast menu of healthy options for people with a variety of diets. Knocking down to 4-stars because they charge to make substitutions to their dairy menu items (I.e. using plant based protein in place of whey). Kind of ironic for a health place to penalize their customers for special diets/allergies - they can do better. They just choose capitalism over decency, which seems a little silly. read more

I have never in my life been told I could not order because I only had cash to spend. Original chop shop is my neighborhood stop and I've been eating at the establishment for years... well as of today that is no longer when I was refused service because I couldn't pay with credits this was not due to the fact that they were closing soon, the front clerk and her manager backed her up. If you want to spend money I do not recommend... and to say that you take credit cards and not cash is alienating and discriminatory. read more

Burnt veggies in a bowl I ordered. If they knew how to cook they would know that veggies that aren't bright have all the nutrients cooked out. All you need to cook veggies for is 7 maybe 8 minutes, not until they are brown. Disappointed. Small amount of meat as well in The bowl even though it was tasty. Still needs improving. read more

I am beyond disappointed with this location of Chop Shop. I used to live in Old Town and loved eating at Chop Shop there, so I was so excited to get one in my neighborhood. The problem is that the Arcadia one is not even close to being up to par with the original in Old Town. I order the same thing every time I get dinner there: a raw veggie salad add chicken. First of all, it looks different every time, and they are never generous with the veggies or chicken. It is a little pile of veggies and chicken on top of a ton of lettuce. Second, they get something wrong almost every time. Last night they left off the chicken. Sometimes they leave of the avocado. Sometimes there's no cheese. I was always very happy with the salads I got in Old Town, but these in Arcadia pale in comparison. I should be able to take a picture of the same salad from 2 locations and have them be pretty much identical. And it's not just the salads that they screw up. A couple of weeks ago I stopped by for breakfast and ordered a Bagel breakfast sandwich...and they gave it to me on a brioche bun!! If bagel is in the name of the sandwich, it should be on a bagel, unless you tell me you're out of bagels! I only continue to eat here because it's down the street from me and healthy and cheaper than Flower Child. But I am going to have to speak to the manager before I eat here again. Woman w/ short black hair and bangs is a SNOB!! Let me tell you why. My wonderful teenage children picked up a salad for their pregnant mother tonight and came back home to describe a HORRIBLE experience. A young woman with short black hair, bangs and wire gold glasses was EXTREMELY rude to my kids. I transferred money to my teenagers account so they could pay for my salad but didn't anticipate it being over $40 bucks for two late night salads and an açaí bowl. No big deal. I transferred more money. This mishap prompted the young lady at the restaurant to almost refuse to try their card again because they "obviously had no money" . She agreed to make a second attempt in which she proceeded to roll her eyes, loudly sigh and tap her fingers. She MUMBLED "do you want the receipt?" And my girls didn't hear her so she RUDELY and LOUDLY and in a very condescending manner said it again "DOOO... YOUUU ... WANT... YOUR ... RECEIPT??? My kids felt discriminated against for being young and Hispanic as no other person in the restaurant was treated the same. I have great kids. One about to enter Pre-Med and another in all honors. They don't accept the American currency " US dollar " as a form of payment. Credit cards only is only convenient for them to maximize time and profits but it limits the payment choices for the patrons. It also is a move towards a cashless society and a scary control over all peoples finances. Not cool. Food is pretty good though, if you have a credit card to buy it :) read more

I'm so sad because I really love the food from here by the last 2 times that my husband and I have ordered take out we have been really disappointed. Both times the rice was hard and undercooked, as well as chicken that seems to be pretty cold. We both love the Thai chicken protein bowl but the chewy, crunchy rice just throws off the dish. We're super disappointed since this is one of our favorite and affordable healthy places to eat. I'm hopeful that next time will be better, as long as they cook the rice well enough. read more

Haven't done a review in a while and felt compelled to express how happy I am to find this gem of a restaurant. Healthy options seem to be few and far between in Phoenix, and this place exceeded my expectations. I ordered the raw vegetable bowl and it was soooo yummy. Healthy and fresh (no wilted lettuce, crisp veggies), exactly what I was craving. Not a lot of ingredients and simple seasoning/dressing, so you can actually taste all of the veggies, which is what I prefer. The watermelon tea was a perfect compliment to my bowl. Trendy, clean, healthy, and moderately priced for nutritious food options. This place has Açaí bowls and Pitaya bowls which is always popular when your trying to beat the Phoenix heat. The food portions are kind of small which makes sense because it's meant to be healthy. I will definitely come back for the bowls and outdoor patio! Just like the location in Old Town Scottsdale that I have reviewed (years ago) but even more Rad! It's been here a while now but this new location is really nice. Still a great menu. Interior is clean and comfortable. Amazing Patio out front and also a shared patio with the coffee place. Great food. Protein bowls, juices, some smoothies. I recommend one of those protein bowls. After all the burgers, tacos and pizza I had in Scottsdale it was so nice to go to Original ChopShop and get some delicious healthy food and sparkling water. I got the Spicy Korean Steak Bowl with brown rice. SOOOOOO good. The Steak pieces melt in your mouth and it paired very well with the roasted vegetables and brown rice. The rice was perfectly cooked both times I went. People keep saying its cramped and small but they must not have been paying attention because they have the main eating area, a secondary indoor eating area and two different outdoor eating areas. Both times I went there was definitely more than enough room. I will agree that the ordering / pick up section is alittle cramped but thats only because its right in the middle of the two eating areas. Their Acai bowls looked awesome and their sandwiches looked great too. Im starting to crave this place while i'm writing this review. Also keep in mind that Im from San Francisco where we have hundreds of places just like this that are amazing. So my standard was high and they definitely exceeded my standard both times. read more

We've been excited for this location to open, as we live nearby. I called in a to-go order for two salads. When I arrived to pick up our food, it wasn't very busy. I went to wait by the sign that said pick up for to go orders. I waited for a few minutes, and nobody greeted me or said they would be with me in a minute, which was a little awkward because there were about 3 employees within about 6-8 feet of me. When I got home with the food, one of the salads was the wrong one and neither had dressing BUT they were delicious! The portions were just the right size, the ingredients were fresh, and all in all they were good. I'm willing to give them another shot since they're in the neighborhood and the food was good, but am hoping for a more flawless experience next time around. I'm attributing the mistakes of this visit to opening only recently, so I am optimistic that the minor issues will be resolved. read more
